Scotch whisky is ingrained within Scottish culture.

The ancient Scots used it to heal common ailments and keep warm throughout the winter. And now, Scottish whisky exports make up one quarter of the UK’s international food and drink trade.

It’s a fascinating part of Scottish heritage, and on this tour, you learn about it at two distinct distilleries. You visit Glengoyne, a tiny, quaint distillery located at the foot of a delightful hill. And you explore Deanston distillery, a large distillery with a fascinating industrial past.

What’s more is you blend these delicious flavours with a visit to one of the most famous lochs in the whole of Scotland at the Loch Lomond National Park.

So take this tour, sample a delectable range of whiskies, and learn about Scotland’s national drink.
  • Round-trip transport in a top-of-the-range, 16-seat Mercedes mini-coach from Edinburgh on this whisky-tasting tour
  • Visit Glengoyne Distillery and Deanston Distillery with your guide
  • Free time at Loch Lomond in the Trossachs National Park
  • Small-group tour for a more personalized experience
What to Expect
Meet your guide and top-of-the-range, 16-seat Mercedes mini-coach in central Edinburgh. Then, depart for your full-day tour of the Scottish Lowlands. Along the way, soak up sweeping views over the Scottish countryside and learn its whisky-making history from your guide. First, stop at the Glengoyne Distillery in Dumgoyne for a guided tour. Here, see how Scottish whisky is traditionally made, sample some whiskies, and learn more about the distillery. Continue through the beautiful Trossachs National Park to Loch Lomond—one of the region’s top natural attractions. You have time here to admire the lake and mountain scenery, and stop for lunch (own expense). Next, visit the Deanston Distillery—nestled on the banks of the Teith River and widely considered Scotland’s most environmentally friendly distillery. During your tour, see how whisky is made the Deanston way and taste two types of single-malt Scotch. The tour ends with drop-off in central Edinburgh.

No problem with leaving a backpack on the van. The tour guides are very accommodating. Make sure to put some water and snacks in the pack for the long road trips! Enjoy!

We left Edinburgh at 9:30 am and returned by 6:30pm. That included several stops, including the distilleries, lunch, etc. We spent an hour or so at each distillery.
