About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- spyderguy670 contributionsStarlights Cruise Experience - A must do in the OutbackBy far the best night's entertainment I have ever had. Each element of the night would be outstanding by itself, but put them all together, and it makes for something which is just amazing. The staff are sensational and really looked after every person on the tour. The food amazing, the scenery unique and beautiful, and the bush stories are something that will touch even the hardest soul. I highly recommend this tour, and I hope to get back there to do it again. I took a group out to Longreach on trikes, and I was not sure how this night would be received. Every single one of our group of 17 said it was the highlight of the trip filled with amazing experiences.Written 18 November 2024
- 372elizabetha0 contributionsStage coach and tent showI loved this ride on the stage coach, and Lane was an amazing host with his knowledge about the area . I got to ride on the top at the back, which was an amazing feeling galloping along a dusty hot and don't forget the flies road . When we arrived back, we were served scones and cream with tea or coffee. The tent show was great as well, watching the working dogs go through their paces . But not to forget the town cryer in the morning and his bush poetryWritten 1 November 2024

I sat up front with the driver. The movie and scones are great too. I booked this tour as part of my self guided rail trip. The central location fitted in well.Written 22 October 2024

- 54crowie0 contributionsBest of the BushWe did the 3 tours and loved each one.... my husband especially loved the Nogo experience. The Stagecoach experience is a reminder of our pioneering travel and I loved it. Jeremy and Lane are masters of good old country wit and their humour will be shared with family and friends for some time.Written 13 October 2024
- juliedF9948XP0 contributionsFirst rate !This was a fabulous tour to Nogo station. Our tour guides were terrific. Jeremy provided an entertaining and very interesting insight into the sheep and cattle industry in the station’s shearing shed. We then travelled by Coach around the property and saw a wide variety of wildlife including kangaroos, emus, camels, wild donkeys, lizards, and the highlight; feral boars and piglets! The tour ends with a perfectly brewed cup of leaf tea and bushman’s lunch which was delicious. The impressive attention to detail from this company makes this a very comfortable and first rate tourist experience.Written 11 October 2024

- Janette O0 contributionsA great tour for all agesA great look into life on an outback station in Longreach. Jeremy is an amazing tour guide giving us an onsite into his life on the land. A fantastic tour and an extremely yummy smoko. Jeremy even gives you tips on cooking different cuts of meats and lets you know where you can get good quality merino clothing, cook books and stuff. Where else but his mum’s store in town.Written 26 September 2024

The day tour to Winton was amazing. We were picked up by bus from our lodgings by Outback Pioneers at 6:30 in the morning and we were off for a day of discover. Our first stop was the Age of Dinosaurs Centre. What a fantastic place to visit if you’re interested in palaeontology. Fossils of dinosaurs were discovered in the region about thirty years ago and from then on, this marvellous centre was built for those interested in dinosaur fossils. The tour guide explained the long and slow process of digging up and ensuring the preservation of these fossils and live sized bronze statues showed us what they would actually have looked like when alive. Then it was off to Winton Centre for lunch at the The North Gregory Hotel and we were entertained by Gregory North who recited poetry by Banjo Patterson who lived in Winton for a while. A wander in town after lunch then back on the bus for the return to Longreach at around 4:10 in the afternoon. A great day out.

Very comfortable coach trip from Longreach, great driver, knowledgeable, plus so humorous. ( I think it was Duncan). The presentation was great, not rushed and those that could not see/ hear all were able to have this repeated. The Architecture blended in beautifully so as not to be obtrusive. So well planned. The views around the area were astounding, it was hard to believe that we were so high to achieve these views. Prior to this I had no idea that dinosours were ever even in Australia.

What a heart warming and very special holiday we had in mid October with our remarkable hosts Richard Kinnon and his boys Jeremy and Lane. We experienced their full package tour which included the return train trip from Brisbane. We loved every single day spent with these true blue country people. Their hard working ethic and great humour made every day a memorable and unique experience with lots of laughs.
The absolute highlight though for me was the bus day trip to Winton to the Dinosaur Museum. Richard was our driver and what a fantastic storyteller he is. He held us spellbound for the entire journey recalling stories of his childhood growing up in the bush. We laughed and nearly cried as we heard how tough life can be but how resilient these country people are. We all felt deeply moved. The Dinosaur Museum also astonishing! So very interesting every moment listening to dedicated palaeontologists sharing their knowledge.
We highly recommend Outback Pioneers for a very memorable holiday. Fabulous top shelf bed at The Stables, recently built needs a special mention as well as the welcome air conditioned room when we returned from our full days! Thank you to the whole family for sharing your lives with us and giving us a powerful insight into country resilience and spirit.

That's a really lovely and detailed review and a great acknowledgement for the end of our 2021 season. Richard and the family thank you so much for coming for the full holiday and supporting us in Longreach. It's our privilege to be able to share the outback life with guests and our pleasure when we can put a big smile on their faces and create an appreciation of the outback resilience and spirit. We're so happy to hear you enjoyed everything so much.

Enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide! Amazing finds well displayed.
Only drawbacks were unloading a bus load of people with only 2 toilets and not enough time to properly do the dinosaur gorge and take it in. Well worth a visit!

As my husband is unable to walk very far, the staff at the centre were very helpful and we were able to enjoy a shorter tour, involving a visit to the laboratory and the film and talk at the centre.
Watching the people actually working on the finds from the diggings was very interesting, and our guide (Jacob) was very informative.
Everything was very well done and well worth a visit.

The whole trip was extremly well planned and kept to schedule (when everyone arrived back to the bus on time). The driver/guide was excellent with a great knowledge of the local area. Our trip to the Dinosaur museum was excellent and informative. We were supplied with tea/coffee and home made anzac biscuits for morning tea.

Our Winton Discovery Day Tour is a full day - so planning is key. It is extra helpful when our guests all meet at the agreed times. We agree the award-winning Australian Age of Dinosaur Museum is an absolute highlight and the perfect place to experience prehistory! Thanks for sharing your experience!

Ability to relax rather than do the drive. The Dino discovery centre. Would really have liked to go to the actual Dino stampede site but that want an option. Matilda Centre was a very pleasant surprise.

Winton is such an interesting place with so much to see. We're happy to hear you enjoyed the trip there and back. The journey there is often where Richard shares his own stories about growing up as a bush kid!

We booked this Tour, online, directly with the venue before we left home because we were unable to book a tour with the local Tour Company. We drove ourselves to Winton from Longreach, a trip of about 11/2 hours each way, not difficult.

Today we jumped on board the Outback Pioneers coach and drove to Winton to go and see the dinosaur museum
The dinasour museum was Amazing . We visited Winton and the Waltzing Matilda Museum
We explored the shops in the Main Street and bought souvenirs .
We went to the North Gregory Hotel for lunch - the meals were beautiful .
We walked out the back of the North Gregory Hotel to look at Arno ‘s Wall - what an eye opener . It was someone’s treasure ( once upon a time ) cemented to a concrete wall . Some of the things stuck in the wall were motorbikes type writers , lawn mower. Hubs , fans , sewing machine , oven doors .wheel trims , engine parts and the list goes on and on and on , so does the wall .
I am so glad we caught the Outback Pioneers bus . They do such an amazing tour , well worth the money . We enjoyed our day out and I recommend it to all ages
Also the North Gregory Hotel has a caravan Park out the back of the hotel.

Hello, we are very keen to do this tour. It only seems to be available on the Saturdays but the only one we’ll be in Longreach is the 25th July, which doesn’t seem to be available. Are you able to add us to a wait list if becomes available or if there is a cancellation?
Many thanks, Marie
