- 504cheynes0 contributionsMust unreal river cruise ever!My husband and 3 kids decided to go out on a river cruise to show the kids crocodile’s, and WOW the cruise did not disappoint. Our river guide was so knowledgeable about the river and all the animals, we not only seen crocodile’s but also snakes owls beautiful birdlife and other amazing creatures that call the river home. We were greeted on arrival by wonderful staff. Thanks so much for making this holiday one my kids will never forget! They still are talking about it 2 days on and want to go out once more before we leave! Thanks so much againWritten 6 January 2024
- 750emerl0 contributionsAmazing valueGreat experience. Seen 3 crocodiles. Excellent value for money. We only seen a small bit of the river but alas didn’t need to see a whole lot of it because the crocs were located fairly close to the docking pontoon.Written 30 December 2023

- SeriousRelaxer0 contributionsWorth the time to visitFrom the welcome when we arrived to the end of the tour the staff were very friendly. Our boat tour was full of interesting information. Did we see crocodiles? Yes we definitely saw some large ones, as well as bird life. It is a beautiful placeWritten 10 October 2023
- Xavier M0 contributionsAverage Rainforest CruiseI rate this experience 3/5 stars simply because the timing of our cruise allowed very few sightings (4 in over an hour, and only 1 small crocodile). I highly recommend planning the timing of the cruise in advance to increase your chance of seeing multiple crocodiles and other creatures, which in our case was disappointing. Other than that, the experience was well organized and the guide was friendly and knowledgeable.Written 28 September 2023
- paulgU6615JU0 contributionsFantastic croc experienceOutstanding croc cruise with a highly experienced guide who knew everything about the Daintree and showed great care for the crocs (thanks Bruce!).Written 21 July 2023
- garrymV7976ML0 contributionsBest cruise in daintreeAmazing trip, done it back in 2019 with another trip and this was amazing compared to that. We saw the 2 biggest crocs and also snakes and baby crocs. What made it better is that we could bring the dog along and she was so welcome. I would do this again when we are back in the daintree first class ExperienceWritten 8 July 2023
- Accountinggggg0 contributionsGreat, private experienceWe had an awesome experience and saw some baby crocodiles. We were the only ones on the boat and got really lucky with our guide, who was super knowledgeable not only on crocodiles but also various other species! Definitely a must doWritten 20 March 2023
- Brent C0 contributionsAmazing family river cruiseOur family of five just finished a river cruise with our guide Anthony from Daintree River Cruise Centre. Anthony was amazing. Very knowledgeable, fun and kept everyone engaged. Found us several baby crocs and one adult. The river is beautiful. The boat has lots of shade. Highly recommend.Written 14 March 2023
- T6166XHcarolg0 contributionsCrocs in the wildI would highly recommend this cruise, the crew we very attentive and professional, there was 9 in our group and were lucky enough to have the whole boat to ourselves, the skipper was extremely knowledgeable, going out of his way to make sure we saw at least 1 crock.Written 27 February 2023
- Kai C0 contributionsokThe water was unfortunately too high to see larger crocs and there were no snakes (green or pythons). We did see 3 small (under 1 m) reptiles on logs and the bank. In any case, it was nice to get a sense of the river, and the guide was informative and interesting. Would recommend.Written 25 February 2023
- O6312PAjohnm0 contributionsDaintree river croc cruiseWe were lucky to get a few spots on a late morning cruise and the prices was very reasonable. The boat was good for viewing the river and the guide/captain knew the river and where crocs might be visible. Too bad for us we cruised at a very high tide so this limited the areas on the bank a croc could be seen. The captain did find a 3 meter croc though so for that alone the trip was worth while. He was also able to spot a large python in a tree and other smaller snakes in riverbank trees. The staff at the location were all very pleasant and offered tea coffee or juice while we waited for the cruise to leave. It’s only a 1 hour cruise so easy to fit into a visit to the rainforest. A must thing to do as the crocs are an important element of the environment. Be sure to stay clear of all water while in the rainforest unless specifically note the area is croc free. In speaking to a park ranger, large crocs inhabit all waterways that feed into the ocean. They also will reside on beaches in on the ocean so no taking a swim anywhere not specifically noted as croc free.Written 24 February 2023

Our experience started with a most welcome and refreshing iced Daintree tea served by the friendly and helpful hostess who answered all our questions. The tour itself was so much better than we expected. The vessel was comfortable, uncrowded and with sufficient shade from the sweltering heat. Within minutes we had spotted the scary male, Lumpy and heard of his recent territorial win of the prized position on the river. Alan, our most knowledgeable yet entertaining guide, then told us to look out for the young female. We all saw Bruce and her grassy nest holding her clutch of precious eggs. We heard how she happened to have a male name, and she graced us a display of maternal protection with her jaws open and her tail arched cat-style above the water to ward us off. All too soon, our tour was over and we returned to the centre to pick up another cup of iced tea and a couple of boxes of tea and souvenirs for our friends back at home.

I've been taking a group of university students to the Daintree River Cruise Centre every year for about 10 years. They have a fascinating welcome centre with a museum about the Daintree, extremely friendly staff offering tea and good conversation, and amazingly knowledgeable tour leaders. They know that our students are studying environmental science, and they give our students an invaluable experience and education about the Daintree ecosystem. They show us and teach us about crocodiles, birds, tree snakes, mangroves, and the geography and history of this iconic Australian river system treasure.

The rainy season in northern Queensland is supposed to be between January and March and I was visiting at the beginning of July. It rained quite heavily on all five of the days I was staying, but I had this river cruise booked to see crocodiles and so I turned up anyway. The guide told us that crocodiles usually bask in the sun on the muddy banks of the river, but at the moment with the unseasonal weather it was warmer under the water for them, than out of the water. However the unseasonal weather is clearly not under the control of the tour operator!
Despite the weather we saw four or five crocodiles and some interesting birds in the hour we were on the river. Including a lovely kingfisher. We did see one of the oldest and biggest of the local male crocodiles swimming across the river so could not see quite how big he was, but looking at the speed at which he travelled was quite something.
The boat was clean and comfortable and left on time. We were welcomed before boarding with the offer of tea, coffee, juice or water and free biscuits. The little French bulldog that belongs to the owner was very friendly especially where the biscuits were involved. I had a good time despite the weather. There appears to be a few companies offering similar cruises but I chose this one because of the good reviews.

This was a great tour and a great location. The check in area has heaps of information about the local area and the staff were very friendly. On the tour the guide is clearly very knowledgeable and gave heaps of information , not just on the crocs but the area and other wildlife too. The operator was respectful of the crocs and we got close to multiple crocs and I loved the way he would turn the boat around so both sides of the boat could see. The boat itself was small so made for good viewing and not overcrowded. I would highly recommend this trip.

The tour was fantastic. On arrival, you have the choice of tea, coffee or a cool drink to welcome you before you set off. We immediately felt at home. The tour itself was very informative. Our guide Allan was really great and you could tell straight away that he knew the area inside out. He told us a lot about the river and the crocodiles. The trip was really interesting. Luckily we had ideal conditions and were even able to spot 4 crocodiles and a small green tree frog. Our guide always made sure that everyone could see the animals perfectly and even turned the boat around. Would book a tour again at any time! An absolute recommendation!

This was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had! The lady who checked us in is so warm and funny and will load you up on tea and humour. The skipper we had was so knowledgeable and also gave us a great laugh and experience. We spotted several crocodiles, tree snakes, birds and learnt so much about the mangroves and nature of the Daintree. I would absolutely recommend this cruise to anyone!! Well worth it. We will be back.

We enjoyed our one-hour river cruise — we had a baby with us, so this was the perfect length as we couldn’t bring her on longer rainforest tours. We saw several crocodiles as well as some birds and a tree snake, and our guide taught us about the mangroves and the ecology of the region. I would recommend this experience for those who want to see a bit more of the rainforest but don’t have time for a half- or full-day tour.

Reception/checking area is also a visitor’s information centre and - that it is. Caroline was very welcoming and knowledgeable. Free refreshments where offered. Dogs are welcomed. Host was very good and made sure everyone onboard got a view of what he was highlighting - crocs, birds, snakes and plants. Our tour July 2021 was 1 1/2 hours @ $30pp so excellent value for money.

Myself and my husband did this tour on the weekend and it didn’t disappoint us, great value for money. Brad was our guide and he was very informative about the crocs and also the other wildlife. We were told that we might not see any crocs because it’s not a zoo and also this time of year, but we actually did see three crocs!!! Even if we hadn’t seen any it would still be worth the money just for the cruise up the Daintree River.
Thank you Brad for your knowledge and making our day memorable. 10/10 (the Croc is under the vine hanging in the water, the baby Croc is on the banking, also the beautiful kingfisher and views up the Daintree River)
