      Must do in the Barossa
Jackie was an amazing host to our tasting. The gardens and surrounds are so stunning. It was too rainy for croquet-next time. The members club is great value-check it out! Sit down tasting was a nice touch. The history and facilities are impressive. So glad we stopped by.

Please include this in your visit!!
Please include Chateau Tanunda on your visit to the Barossa! We popped in and were fortunate to be seated for a tasting, after a wander through the cellar door. Larry was a wonderful host, informative and professional, very friendly. The wines were incredible, we could have purchased most of them but the Grenache in particular was gorgeous. Make time for a wander through the grounds, it’s very special.

      Excellent!
A marvellous building and complex with a very luxe tasting room. Our hostess Sharon was totally engaging and while wine preferences are personal their shiraz hit our mark with solid bulls eyes. The basic tasting fee was more than just value for money. Parking can be confusing - there is a cellar door lot with stairs down to the entry on each end, and also space behind the building on the 'cellar door floor level'. I would call it one of if not the best of the barossa cellar doors. Ticked every box for this wine junky who normally prefers McLaren Vale.

      Can’t miss!
If you’re only going to go to one winery in Barrosa, this is the one! They don’t call it Icon of the Barrosa for nothing. I’ve been to wineries throughout Napa and the central coast in California and in other states. I’d rank Chateau Tanunda right alongside the best of those. The grounds are beautiful and the wines were all very enjoyable. Larry took care of us during our tasting and did an exceptional job. He was personable and full of relevant information. Don’t miss this one!

      Lovely Afternoon Tasting
Had a lovely time at Chateau Tanunda. Vickie was a wealth of knowledge - not only related to the wine but also the history of this beautiful estate. We were very taken with her enthusiasm and love for Chateau Tanunda. All the staff were helpful and welcoming, and we particularly loved that cash was an accepted form of payment. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

      Impressive and friendly
This is one of those grand venues in the Barossa worth seeing even if you do not have a taste. The property rescue a credit to the owner which is well presented with other history on the Chateau inside this impressive building. The ultra friendly staff at the tasting spoilt us with flexibility and generosity! Highly recommend dropping while in Tanunda.

      Fantastic winery and tasting!
Visited Chateau Tanunda on a Saturday afternoon for the Rare & Fine Wines Tasting Flight (private tasting) and it was fantastic! We were looked after by Sharon, who gave us a great overview of the wines and the differences between them. She also offered a very interesting history of the building, the grounds and the region in general, on top of an insight into the owner, the industry and the locals. She was wonderful as a host! Afterwards, we bought a couple of bottles and drank one by the fireplace. Probably the best wine tasting and winery visit I've ever done and will definitely be coming back one day.

      Terrific Tanunda!
Outstanding service and atmosphere. Vickie - who conducted our our wine tasting experience was very informative, attentive and made the visit very memorable. The building and grounds were outstanding and the atmosphere was fantastic. We also enjoyed some of the historical information displayed around the tasting and barrel room. We will be sure to encourage other Qlders to visit!

      Faulty Towers Dining Experience
We attended the Faulty Towers Dining Experience. The show was fantastic but the food and food service was absolutely disgusting. The mail meal was cold and the food drops were all over the place. People were calling out for a meal when others had received there's on the same table and had finished. The dessert was a disgrace, sticky date which was the size of a 50cent coin no cream or icecream. Sorry but for the money would have expected so much more, it was like they were not prepared at all.

      Very rushed tasting experience
Beautiful venue, however very rushed tasting experience. Hadn’t finished each tasting & Bruce was standing at our table waiting to pour our next one. Not even 5 mins between pours. Had to ask each time about each wine- only told us the name of each wine. He didn’t seem very interested at all. A lots of wines were tasted - 10 in all, but a lot of wine to taste in 40mins. No time to savour or rest the palate. Would not go back considering so many other more amenable wineries. Big shame as such a beautiful place with great history.

      NO HENS
They do not accept Hens days. We’re quite abrupt and rude about it. We are a small nice group of ladies not rowdy whatsoever.

Beautiful venue, horrible service from staff!
Beautiful venue but terrible experience from the staff. Young couple looking to do a tasting and got judged by the staff straight as we walked in. Was told it was too busy to do a tasting even with multiple tables free. Then were advised to grab a glass of wine and have a wander around and got completely ignored at the bar even though we waited for almost 10 minutes. To cap it off while we were waiting older couples got served before us even though the staff looked us in the eye and wandered off. Was a real shame because the venue is stunning with such a great history behind it. For any other young couples thinking of visiting, don’t expect any good service at all!

      Elegant and delicious
A really beautiful place. Did the Terroirs tasting in charming wine cellar with interesting historical panels and photos. Host was super friendly and informative, a memorable experience. So happy we chose there for our tasting experience.

The weight of history and wonderful wine
Being inclement weather, we parked in the visitors carpark and made a dash to the cellar door. Once inside, we were pleased to look around the large tasting room at the historic photographs, the barrels and end up seated beneath a heater, ready for a tasting. The cellar room staff were friendly, knowledgeable, able to answer any query and happy to find other wines which they thought we might enjoy (and we did). At no time did we feel rushed and it quite likely we could have spent several hours in wine tasting but fortunately purchasing decisions were finally made and, during a break in the rain, we carefully carried our purchases back to the car. On another visit, when the weather is warmer and not raining, we'd like to return to go on a tour of the establishment.

      Highly Recommend!
What a wonderful experience! From the moment we walked into the cellar door, we were made to feel very welcome, even with two children in tow. We had Alex take us through a tasting, he was very knowledgeable and had a clear love for the wine. Highly recommend stopping in and paying the Cellar door a visit!

Wow! An absolute gem of an impromptu visit. We were doing a self guided Barossa Valley tour and saw Chateau Tanunda sign posted. A bit of research told us about their tours and tastings. We couldn’t book on line so took a chance at cellar door and asked for a tour. They could fit us in a couple of hours later so, we explored elsewhere and came back for a thoroughly enjoyable tour, some history and a delicious wine tasting. They could not have been friendlier or more accomodating. Needless to say we left with a couple of bottles purchased at cellar door. A great experience in everyway. 😊
