      Lots of fun….unless you’re a bird
Lovely views and staff. Non-alcoholic wine is a nice alternative, but on leaving we visited the birds in cages and they were baking in the 38 degree heat, some totally without water and minimal shade. It was very disappointing to see how well the tourists/$ side is cared for whilst the birds & animals are left to suffer.

      Fun visit with great food
This was great to visit. Would like to have done the cooking class but it was booked out. We had the best coffee and scones with jam and cream. Delicious. We all took photos in Maggie’s kitchen. Bought a few items in her shop. Rainy day so didn’t walk around the lake but did check out where birds were and peacocks walking around. A really fun visit.

      "Beautiful, Relaxing Place to Visit"
My husband and I dropped in for afternoon tea and scones, jam and cream. We sat at the window seat and took in the beautiful views across the dam. Also, enjoy some tastings and sample the new Maggie Orchard Pear Liqueur as we did. Tastes amazing. Have a browse in the shop and purchase local goods or enjoy a stroll outside to the deck and snap some great photos as I did. A must to visit while on Barossa Valley and enjoy.

      Disappointing tourist trap.
We expected more... this was a stop on a Barossa day trip. It was nice to see the kitchen and hear the story of the filming there, but otherwise it is just a big gift shop and tourist trap. There was nothing we could purchase that appealed, or that we could bring back to Canada in our luggage. The restaurant was off limits to our tour, I thought the docent might prepare an appy or something to taste after her kitchen talk, but we got nothing to eat, which was extremely disappointing considering where we were! Nice grounds, but not worth a return visit.

      Iconic
Maggie is an Australian icon, much beloved in the culinary world and by the general public. Mt wife and I still enjoy watching the tv series "The Cook and the Chef" even though it's more than 10 years old. It was nice to see the kitchen where it was filmed. The Farm Shop was very busy, with people involved in cooking classes, gin tasting, wine tasting, eating delicious looking food and browsing the produce on sale. It's a shop at it's essence, and so it completely met my expectations. We were on a tour so didn't have time to stay and eat. Sadly, we just missed the icon, who had been in earlier signing cookbooks.

      Tasting Boards to Die For
After our deconstructed, cocktail making, gin tasting experience we moved into the farmhouse shop/deli/cafe area and enjoyed a delicious tasting board while overlooking the little lake. It was beautiful and very good value

      No more tastings!
Really disappointing! No more tastings of produce, food is very average, just 1 star for the lovely setting.

Pheasant visit..... I mean Pleasant visit
Experience - Quick visit on Barossa Tour It was surreal to see Maggie's piece of paradise. This was a quick stop along the way of a tour we were on but it was still a pleasant stop nonetheless. Long enough to hear a quick talk on the origins of this location and Maggie's transferance from her love to television and pick up a few tasty souvenirs to bring back home to Sydney with us. Did learn about Maggie's investment into food and the aged care setting. If possible, make sure you take the time to check out the various pheasants on the property as well.

      Disappointed
Disappointed. It was a humid day and there was no air conditioning. Was shocked to see tourist buses, despite covid. It was just a self product promotion.

      A delious meal
We arrived at lunchtime and because we hadn’t booked, we couldn’t get a table in the restaurant. Instead we had a delicious platter and a glass of wine in the Farm Shop. We were not disappointed at all. Afterwards, we purchased some goodies to take home.

      Very disappointing.
The location is lovely and the shop certainly has nice products on display, but unlike last visit, due to COVID, nothing was available to taste. The platters available to purchase looked very basic when we were hoping for gourmet. As the restaurant was booked out we decided to go elsewhere. Just unfortunate but this is the second disappointing visit so I won’t bother again. Other places delivered better bang for the buck today.

      Large, commercial operation these days.
Good quality produce and lots of variety including some unusual products. Now sell beer and cider. It is a big commercial operation these days so looses some of the “personal touch”. Don’t expect cheap or even cheaper at the farm shop door.

      Gourmet delight
Great place to taste test a variety of produce and drink options available for sale at the farm shop. Friendly staff available to answer any questions and offer suggestions. Can walk around farm too, and food available in eatery or cafe.

Lovely way to spend half a day in this part of the world. Cooking demonstration was first rate and you get to sample all the cooked goodies. Followed by lunch in the restaurant where you choose an entree and main from the menu. Then took a leisurely stroll around the lake/farm before settling back down in the Farm shop for a wine tasting.

We enjoyed a few hours of being immersed in good food! Starting with a cooking demonstration (nothing too complicated), followed by a wine tasting during which we also sampled food from the demonstration, then a gin tasting and finally a grazing board stocked with Maggie Beer products and a glass of wine. We also had a lovely stroll around the farm. A little pricey, but not ridiculous.

Love Maggie Beer and her produce so decided to do the cooking experience and then we tasted the food that was cooked and went on to the wine and gin tasting as well as a grazing board lunch and a bottle of wine. Pretty good!

    BEST ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE EVER!!!
Booked for a friend and myself. We had cooking class by Lynda and wine and gin tasting by Jake. My friend was the designated driver so Jake suggested she take a mocktail tasting instead. The service of all the staff was excellent, they made you feel exclusive and special. There were also items sold only at the farm shop.
I was told we would take averagely 2-3 hours, but we were there till they closed! Absolutely amazing!!! Would highly recommend it to anyone going to Barossa Valley.
