        SA Vineyrds guided
Excellent leader in Kathleen. Normally, on such trips, there’s a guide a driver and a mechanic: Kathleen did all three and was attentive and helpful throughout. Generally food and accommodation excellent, only exception regarding accommodation was the Manna Hotel in Hahndorf: room needed a clean, which Kathleen arranged. Also, reception closed in the early evening. Tastings very good, only upset was at Taylor’s, where it seems the tasting was included but we didn’t find out until it was too late for those who had opted not to pay. Those who did opt to pay were not charged. The tasting list we paid for included’2022 St Andrews Chardonnay’ but we were given the estate Chardonnay instead, and to add insult to injury, this was justified by some waffle about it them not wanting to open another case because they’re a sustainable winery. Overall an excellent trip. Thank you and especially thank you Kathleen.

Brilliant stay & cycle trip in Mudgee
Brilliantly organised trip, easy ebikes with basket/panier/ lock/helmet to cycle around your designated wineries for 'included tastings & lunch'. Upgraded to 'comfy accom' option at Parklands Resort located right on a cheese tasting place & walked 20mins to town for 2nd dinner at Mudgee Brewery. A great 2nt/ 3 day stay!

Relaxed exploration of SA vineyards by bike
Guided "Tour de South Australia vineyards" - we thoroughly enjoyed the 5 day tour: easy cycling on rail trails and bike paths, punctuated by interesting stops (wine tasting at historic vineyards, places of interest and plenty of coffee stops). We had a fantastic guide from Tour de Vines that meant that daily logistics were smooth with diffrent options each day discussed. Great accommodation, great hospitality everywhere we stopped, great bikes and weather.

Lots of wine tasting and amazing substantial meals... not enough riding.
High end accomodation and restaurants. Lots of wine tasting. Would have liked a little more riding and less imbibing. Well looked after. Beautiful part of the world...trees , gardens, etc. E-bikes were great, but all reasonably flat rail trails, and fairly short distances between stops.

Had an absolute fantastic time on the cycle tour. We rode the Beechworth to Bright tour and it was amazing! Food was fantastic and the views were beautiful. What a way to see the countryside. Annette was wonderful and nothing was any trouble.

Beechworth to Harrietville self guided tour
We had an amazing self guided cycling trip. We cycled from Beechworth to Harrietville. Everything was fantastic the e-bikes were excellent, arranged accommodation clean and located close to everything we needed, pre booked restaurants, food was delicious with great options. We would absolutely recommend this self guided cycle trip. Also support from Annette and Bernard was excellent. We are planning our next tour de vines tour. Rhonda, September 2024

        Not value for money
Not worth the cost of the tour. Few inclusions were missing from our tour. ‘Guided instructions’ included a map available for download from VIC tourism website - suggest to plan your own tour instead and rent bikes from one of the local businesses in town

Great Victorian Rail Trail from Mansfield to Tallarook - what a beauty!
We did the Great Victorian Rail Trail from Mansfield to Tallarook, with ebikes supplied by Tour de Vines. They organised accommodation along the way, at Bonnie Doon, Alexandra, and Yea, and took us back to Mansfield at the end of the trip. Everything was wonderful, such beautiful scenery in country Victoria. Being a rail trail, we didn't need the ebike motor much, but got a great kick of power for the few occasions when we did! Bernard was a great host, and kept in touch throughout the trip, and even met up with us on the last day when we had a few technical issues. Thanks, Tour de Vines!!

        Perfect trip through beautiful country!
Fantastic trip well organised by Damian and crew, made us feel like family! Lovely scenery at a very friendly pace (with E-bikes if desired too!) made for a very relaxing trip. Very knowledgeable local guide (Charlie) pointing out the many wine and foodie stops! Would highly recommend, and planning to try one of the many other cycle trips Tour De Vines offers

        Luxury gourmet cycling tour
After our previous superb trip with Tour de Vines, we had to do another tour! This is our 3rd cycling trip. We did the South Australia Vineyards tour (with Tour de Vines) last year, and also the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (which we did self guided). This is probably our favourite cycling tour (so far). Damian (the boss) was our guide, and he was fantastic. He was knowledgeable about the history of the area and the rail trail, and his commentary was mixed with witticism and humour. The ride itself was leisurely (no more than about 50km a day), but importantly there was no rush or pressure to ride. There were plenty of photo stops, pauses for history lessons (eg Ned Kelly, Hume and Hovell), and time for leisurely lunches. If we wanted to stop for photos, no problems. A bit late for lunch, no worries, we're on holidays. If some people want to ride extra and others want to bus back, no problems. Damian was very accommodating, and nothing was ever a problem. The accommodation was luxury, from historic B&Bs to hilltop villas with stunning views. Lunches and dinners were superb (eg platter lunch with 9-wine tasting, 4 course dinner!). Although there was wine tasting on most days with the lunches, the emphasis was not on wine (not to the extent of the SA vineyard trip). Probably the best part of the tour for us was the views, especially all the spectacular autumn colours when we went. Time to plan for another Tour de Vines trip, maybe overseas this time.

#1 Designer Rail Trail - Murray to the Mountains
If you want to have your expectations exceeded then I suggest booking a TOUR DE VINES self guided Murray to the Mountains Rail Trail tour from Beechworth to Bright with an extension to Harrietville. Guided option is available but not necessary. Six of us have just returned from this trip and the general consensus is "when are we going again?" It was super well organised, with healthy cuisine which was "delish." The whole trip was approx 170kms including side trips. Excellent scenery with a flat to undulating track which was not difficult to traverse and navigate. The two and a half day self guided trip option with our own bikes gave us plenty of freedom to progress at our own pace. Tour De Vines are all over this adventure in terms of organisation, quality and professionalism. Suggest doing the trip in early May as the Autumn colour and weather is spectacular. A FEW TIPS - take a light mountain bike however it can be done on a road bike; Mt. Buffalo. (52kms return) is a scenic but difficult side trip. Suggest doing the extension track out to Harrietville following the Ovens River. Ride out on the track and ten return via the road if short on time. Take time to ride around towns before moving on. Daily temps were 3-19 deg C. (early May). The Beechworth Bakery in Bright is a must. Peppo's Pumpkin Seed facility is worth a visit. Quality of accommodation is very good. The track is paved all the way from Beechworth to Harrietville. Tour De Vines will collect your purchases from along the way and have them ready for you to collect and the end of the trip. Enjoy!

        A great riding adventure
What an amazing holiday with Tour De Vines. So well organised and such friendly staff. We did an extra day in Bright with a trip to Harrietville. So glad we did as it was an amazing addition. We could not speak highly enough about the whole Tour De Vine experience. We will certainly be coming back for more. We picked the most stunning weather with the Autumn colours being at their most spectactular peak. Michael was our “go to” person from the time we started the trip in Beechworth and he was so good explaining everything about the journey we were about to undertake. He regularly stayed in touch with us at each of our overnight stops. The electric bikes which were given were in great condition and performed really well. The choice of accomodation and the cafes, wineries and restaurants were all great and just enhanced the whole of our experience. I am 79 years old and my wife is 74. I would thoroughly recommend TourDeVines to anyone contemplating an outdoor riding experience even people our age if they have a reasonable level of fitness.

Had a lovely time in South Australia. We wanted some exercise on top of the good food and wineries. Tour De Vine's Reisling Trail was great to break up the time we had. It was really good that it was self guided as we could adapt to what suited us which was alot of cycling! We did Rattlers Trail on Day 1 , 38 km and then Day 2 started the official tour taking the alternative loops John Horrocks as well as on Day 3 the Father Ralgoski Loop which was quite a challenge... as we wanted to visit Pikes Winery but hey it meant we could enjoy the food and wine on the way. No lack of wine or food, generous portions and all places we visited were so friendly and interested. Good old country welcomes everywhere. Kent who delivered our bikes was excellent, making sure everyday we were ok and did not require anything with some great suggestions. thanks will be looking at another tour next we cycle :)
PS we did 113km but most people only do 66km so its your race ....

Thanks for taking the time to post your review of our Clare Valley Riesling Trail self guided tour. And it's so great to read you enjoyed what we put together, but also the freedom of going self guided, which you clearly took advantage of!! Pikes is well worth the diversion. Thanks again for choosing to travel with Tour de Vines and we can't wait to host you again on any of our tours across Australia, NZ, Asia or Europe!

A sensational weekend trip! Incredible lunch at Skillogalee at a leisurely cycle along the Riesling trail to other great wineries in the area. The itinerary perfectly covered aspects of the Clare Valley and had great coffee and dinner recommendations.
Would recommend to anyone looking to explore the Clare valley! Can’t wait to do it again.

Great experience , we enjoyed every moment . Accommodation selections were very good Amy's Cottage, Rising Sun Hotel and Clare Country Club all good .
We took e-bikes which suited us , Kent from Bike supplier was very helpful and got us away easily , he arrived on time and gave us plenty of tips.
Winery stops were all good . Great meals at both Skillagalee and O'Leary Walker . Plenty of additional stops from those suggested if you want to move off the trail. Trail ride itself was very accessible and no real gradient difficulties for us . Will do again in other locations in the future . Tour staff very helpful in the lead in and all arrangements were in place for a seemless trail ride . Thanks.

We did the 5 night fully guided tour of Barossa, Claire and McLaren Vale regions.
      Wow what an amazing experience
Our guide Peter was fabulous and ensured at all times we were being catered for and enjoying ourselves.
      Accommodation wonderful
      Food and wine outstanding
      Cycling beautiful
      Loads of laughs
However… the admin at back end not easy to deal with in lead up to trip .
I feel this side of business needs some attention.
      Would definitely go again

This trip was arranged by Tour de Vines for us. We also included the Barossa and the McLaren Vale cycle options.
It was a very shaky start as we were given the wrong itinerary expecting to be collected from our hotel- this did not happen, and we were expected to have a car available to get between each start point. Very stressful to begin with. However, we managed to get that sorted and hired a car to begin these cycle rides. The Barossa was wet so wide drove the cycle plans instead. Great stop at St Hallets Winery.
Drove onto the Clare which was the best riding option and scenery for us of the three valleys. First nights' accommodation was marginal. Great trail and plans were well arranged by the company. They had selected the best locations for lunch and wine tasting. Our accommodation in Clare was exceptional at the Clare Country Club Make sure you visit SevenHills -a must on this trail.
Then a drive down to the McLaren Vale with an excellent stop in Hansdorf-Adelaide Hills- only issue there was the room was not great and we looked out on tin roofs !!! Check where they put you as there are better options available. Short bike ride in the McLaren Vale- high light being the stop in WiraWira Winery- fantastic. So- check you have the correct itinerary for your booking / check the accommodation in Hansdorf.
We did not want to drive back to Adelaide and opted to head down to the coast Victor Harbour. The company would do no refunds for us change- stating they had already paid for the options we decided not to do. i.e., 1x dinner/ 1x hotel night and breakfast. I failed to understand why they could not hold those payments in reserve for further bike bookings!!!!
So, the cost was increased by having to book a rental car when not expected. And the lack of consideration for the cancellation of plans.
Read you details very carefully before paying up.

Thanks Margaret again for the feedback and taking the time to post your comments, and also for travelling with us on your trip around Australia. We have spoken and emailed directly with you about some of the issues you had on tour, and did provide additional benefits for you during your trip (food, wine FOC). But we would like to point out that your itinerary was in fact correct, but we should have highlighted - as per your request - that it was self drive. So as per your recommendation, do read the itinerary for any trip you book as the one we sent you was in fact correct. In terms of the last night change you requested (ie cancel the booked room night in Adelaide on the day of arrival), it's not about us holding payments. We had already paid for that room. We need to abide by the hotels cancellation policies, which are obviously full payment if you cancel on the day of arrival and this would be standard at any hotel around the world. We tried our absolute best to accommodate your changes on this trip and we are glad you enjoyed many parts of it and the great trails in South Australia.
