- Sharynn1230 contributionsYallumba is a must on your next Adelaide tripThe whole estate is remarkable. Highly recommend the Copperage tour, you will certainly appreciate how much work goes into a good bottle of wine. Yallumba means from all around the area, meaning the grapes are sourced from the local Barossa region and turned into beautiful quality wine. The tour also includes a sophisticated tasting and cheese platter. Such a wonderful opportunity to experience wine making at its best. Thank you to Steph and Kym (mouse) for being so attentive and showing us around the complex.Written 8 November 2024

- PRMCMUNN0 contributionsA majestic place, superb wine - not to be missedAbsolutely beautiful setting and amazing friendly staff. Immaculate grounds & buildings that just WOWed us and were so welcoming that we stayed for hours. We did not have a tour booked but happened upon the cooperage which we found fascinating, so special to discover a craft that is so unique and rare in the world! The coopers were very welcoming and eager to share their passion and knowledge, we felt special & privileged to listen about their craft and the history of the winery. We enjoyed a wine tasting and mini-platter of amazing locally sourced produce, loved the Viognier. Thank you Yalumba for your hospitality and sharing your beautiful part of the world with us.Written 1 October 2024

The large, old and characterful cellar door was impressive and we enjoyed a set of excellent, full bodied reds that were really delicious! We also enjoyed a wander around the expansive set of heritage buildings and gardens. Finally, a big thank you to our host, Batesy, who was very friendly and helpful.Written 23 January 2024

Small group tour made this tour quite personalised as we were taken through the Cooperage ( amazing job the 2 guys do in there), then onto the Signature room, where we learnt about the history of the winery and saw a couple of the original wine storage units.
At the end of the tour we got to taste some nice wines accompanied with a platter of food.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and I recommend this is a must if you’re visiting this area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our very informative tour today with Helen. The tour of the cooperage and the rest of Yalumba we would highly recommend and the tour ended back in the wine room with a tasting flight of 4 wines and a platter of delicious bread, crackers, cheeses, olives, ham etc. We finished by tasting the port and dessert wine. We also joined the Yalumba wine club and ordered wines to be shipped home to Queensland :) if you are in the Barossa dont miss this impressive family winery.

This was a fantastic tour. This is a winery steeped in history and Amanda was a wonderful and generous host who shared Yalumba's history and wines with us. She was very well assisted by Matt and Helen who were able to share their stories and knowledge about the food and wine. The rare and fine tasting showcased some remarkable wines. We had an amazing time and will certainly be adding Yalumba wines to our cellar in the future!

Tracey looked after us exceptionally well and we had a great experience learning how the winery works and then tasting the excellent product. Her knowledge of Yalumba's journey from the mid-1800s, as well as her knowledge of the family business, was first-rate. All aspects of the tour were great, including the condition of the substantial grounds and numerous buildings. Without a shadow of a doubt, it was one of the best vineyard experiences we have had and we have had many such experiences.

This tour was engrossing from start to finish being well structured and paced. Such interesting information and access to areas we don't normally see by only visiting the cellar door. Some lovely surprises. Well worth it and our guide Helen was knowledgeable, interesting and genuine. Our wine tasting and cheese board at the end was perfect. Well worth it.

What an amazing experience. My wife and I were so please with how friendly, knowledgeable and welcome the staff at Yalumba were during our time with them.
It takes a matter of minutes from going on this tour to appreciate the amazing history, pride and passion the staff and family of Yalumba have for this business. Such an icon of Angaston and the Barossa Valley.
We highly recommend to make time for this amazing tour and visit this special winery.

This is a “must do” experience whilst in the Barossa region. Amanda have is so warm and personable, she really made this afternoon for us! We had the unique experience of seeing how wine barrels are made, Yalumba is the only winery in the Southern Hemisphere to have an on-site, cooperage, (I was listening Amanda 😀). You will also be given the experience of going into one of the old wine tanks underground, now a tasting room. The gardens on the property are beautifully maintained. We enjoyed our wine tasting and generous (and delicious) food platter. Thank you Yalumba (and Amanda) for sharing your passion with us!

Such a great opportunity to get into the history of not just Yalumba but the Barossa and the State of SA. How fortunate we are to have our own cooperage in South Australia and one of few remaining family owned and managed wineries. Our gorgeous guide was full of facts and information. It was a great way to spend an afternoon,

Thank you Amy for your knowledge and enthusiasm about Yalumba Winery and it’s history. Going to the on-site cooperage and meeting Kym and Harper was an excellent experience. Seeing what goes into making wine barrels and talking to Kym was an education. The wine tasting and food platter after the tour just topped everything off. We would heartily recommend the experience.
