      A lovely trip
A really great few days on Fraser Island with Pippies tour. The food was insane, we were so well fed, I haven’t eaten that many meals in a day since I came travelling seven months ago. Weather was a bit iffy but didn’t take away from the gorgeousness of the island and I actually thought it made it a bit more adventurous which I loved. Only negative I have about the tour is that I wished Pippies had given me a heads up that a majority of our tour would be part of a tour group already. This meant that 18/31 had been travelling together for at least three weeks. Honestly, I really wish that I wasn’t grouped with a tour and I think it took away from my experience. While I met some amazing solo travellers and we still made it a fun time, the negative attitudes of some of the tour group infected the camp and just didn’t make it as fun. I know Pippies is unable to control the mood of the group but I would’ve liked a heads up or the option to change groups to one which had more people travelling on their own. So be prepared you might be stuck with a big group of people where some of them aren’t keen to socialise / get to know other people / get stuck in to the environment.

Overall a fantastic experience, but a second guide would have made it more of a tour than a road trip
An amazing experience and Cory was a fabulous guide! He always felt in control and dedicated all his time to helping us get the most from the trip. For us, Cory and Wozza (the campsite caretaker) made the trip! The driving was really fun, however there were multiple breakdowns and issues with the cars which could have been avoided and would have given us more exploring time throughout the days. The campsite was much better than expected, all the tents were pre-erected in a sheltered room so never felt cold, and the kitchen and bathroom facilities were clean. Also a massive plus that the campsite was protected with a dingo fence as they can be quite scary and aggressive. Food also amazing, and always loads of it so you won’t go hungry! We enjoyed helping to prepare the meals as it bonded the group well. Main criticism is that on our tour it felt like a second guide would have been useful. We didn’t get the most from the champagne pools because the tide was in and we didn’t know what it was supposed to look like. We also didn’t go to Indian Head Lookout at all, and as we didn’t have a guide walking us around the Central Station we walked the wrong way and missed most of this experience. One guide helping prepare the lunches or fixing the vehicles while one guide does the walks/ tours with us would make a big difference as at times, it felt like a driving tour without actually seeing much of Fraser Island itself.

      Amazing trip for Solo Travel
I loved my time on Fraser Island with Pippies. I would 100% recommend to other solo travellers. Def one of the highlights of the east coast. Our tour guide Kev really made the trip, he did an amazing job and was so knowledgable about everything on Fraser. The facilities with pippies were great too.

      Great experience
Fraser island was beautiful. Lake Mckenzie was one of my favourite places in the whole of Australia - I just wish we were there a bit longer. We had a great group of people with the exception of a couple. We saw dingos and goanas. Our tour guide Nate was amazing. He was hilarious and knowledgeable and didn’t put up with people interrupting or speaking over him. Nate and the guide for the other camp were great on the second night when a boy in the other camp was being inappropriate with women and making them uncomfortable. They stayed up until everybody went to sleep to make sure they were safe. The food was great and the cooking and cleaning was equally shared out. It was camping so obviously not the most comfortable and lots of bugs. TAKE INSECT REPELLENT!! I was eaten alive even with the repellent so I hate to think how bad it would be without it. The showers were really cold for our group unfortunately. The biggest negative was that the itinerary said we would go to a lookout to see marine wildlife which we didn’t do. This was the reason we chose Pippie’s over other companies so we were really disappointed that we didn’t do this. The cars were super cramped and there was a lot of driving involved so be prepared for achey legs if you’re in the back. I personally hated driving because the wheels were skidding on the sand and I didn’t like being responsible for 7 other people, but others loved driving.

      Best Fraser Island tour!!
Worth every penny! The food was amazing every day, cosy and clean tents, we got to drive the 4x4 cars for a long time - at least 25 mins each person which was great, and we saw all the amazing spots like eli creek (floats included) and red canyon etc. I also did this as a solo female traveller and I made so many incredible friends. Pippies truly give you the best experience at Fraser- shout out to Jamie for being the best guide🙏🏻

      The best!
The most amazing time. My favourite part of my east coast tour so far. Benny was the best tour guide he was absolutely hilarious and made my experience 10x better and I honestly don’t think my time would have been as good without him. Thank you Benny!! But the tour in general was class. Having clean toilets and hot showers also added to that. Highly recommend

Cool island. Not the greatest tour to choose. Very weather dependent.
My partner and I did the 3 day tour. The island is really cool, we became friends with the other travellers and I would recommend going to see it if you are a traveller. However, if you know it’s going to be rainy and cold, there is absolutely no point in paying this amount of money to go, and I would probably recommend going with a different tour group. When my partner and I went it was cold and rainy the whole time. Which means that our tour guide would drop us off somewhere and say we were here for an hour and our group just kinda stood and stared at eachother because it was way to cold outside to go into the water or do anything else. Our first day out on the island we did a hike in the pouring rain and then went back to the camp. Although no one wants to be outside getting wet in the rain, I feel like we missed a destination on the island because of the weather. Our tour guide told us nothing about the island while we were touring through, no facts, no history, no idea what we were going to be going to on a daily basis. Also paying 500$ to cook your own meals and clean up after others is not exactly ideal. Kind of wish they would give something back to us since we didn’t experience the tour to the best of its ability. Side note (not to do with the tour): there is no cell reception anywhere on the island.

This was legitimately the worst tour I've ever been on. Our tour guide was so RUDE. He was boring as hell, made everyone feel awkward and miserable. He literally had no activities planned for us. Food was awful, if you're vegan or gluten free, you'll basically be forgotten about. We realised on the last day our guide was smoking weed (while driving us all..pretty illegal i'd say) which is why he never spoke to us and was always sitting far away by himself. Also, the brakes on one of the tour vehicles completely stopped working (obviously don't ever service them). Then sat around for 3/4 hours with no backup activities. Thought we'd get extra time on the last day due to what we missed, however we still ended up going back even earlier than we thought. Absolute joke for what you pay for. Did this tour back in Feb if the company wants to double check...... you need to fire the old guy with the pony tail. Worst tour guide of our lives.

FYI: you'd think after paying so much you would get food cooked for you, but you don't. The company doesn't inform that you are to cook and clean your own food (which we wouldv'e been fine with if we knew beforehand) The guide then made us feel bad and awkward when no one helped with the first meal - as no one knew????

EDIT: as seeing all of the other great reviews, we're assuming other tour guides with Pippies made their trip fun and we were just unlucky with our tour guide

Pippies tour was one of the best things we did on our trip around Australia. The cars are fantastic and the island of Fraser is something else!

A special shout-out to Nate, the tour guide, who made the trip 10x better with his knowledge, driving skills, jokes and general presence. He is the best tour guide I’ve ever had (anywhere!). I would highly recommend the tour and hope you get Nate as your guide, the mans a legend!

Fraser Island is undoubtedly a beautiful place to visit with some spectacular sites. Although we weren’t lucky with the weather and visited during wet and windy conditions, we still had a great time. The 3 day, 2 night tour itself was not quite what we hoped though. The guides were not particularly informative about the island or the sites we were seeing. It wasn’t always clear what we were doing each day which made it difficult to make sure you had the appropriate gear in the cars with you. The guides did still choose some great sites despite the weather. The food was good and plentiful with dietary requirements well catered for. The main guide was not very friendly and could be quite rude. The second guide was friendlier and more helpful. The campsite had great facilities. I would definitely recommend the 3 day tour over the 2 day tour as I feel there was still sites we missed out on. Overall, I would say Fraser Island is worth a visit but maybe consider other companies.

Really cool experience exploring the island. You also get to meet a lot of new people which is also good. We saw some amazing things, the 50+ hatching baby turtles on the beach was the highlight without a doubt. Joel was great who took us on the tour and stayed with us, made the whole trip. If you get chance to go to the rainbow beach bar where he plays live music on the night you’re back then do not miss it, it’s the icing on the cake. Would definitely recommend to anyone and go again myself.

Couldn’t fault this trip at all! Very well organized, saw everything we wanted to see and more on the island a perfect mix of chill and adventure. Our tour guide Cory was amazing, from beginning to end he went above and beyond to keep us all entertained, informed and safe around the island. The campsite was brilliant, I wouldn’t be a big camp fan but it had everything you needed to be comfortable, dry, clean and safe. Even though we went in August the weather was great and didn’t feel cold at night at all. Would highly recommend Pippies 10/10

Had the best time on Fraser Island with Pippies. The campsite was perfectly located by the beach and the facilities were brilliant with hot showers & toilets a 2 minute walk away. The tour itself was brilliantly organised, with plenty of group activities and ways to see the island. Our tour guide Cory went above and beyond to ensure we could experience everything, from cooking delicious meals together to bringing us to the sunrise in the morning but also having the option to just chill out around the campfire! The 4x4’s were really fun whether you were driving or the passenger!
Whether you’re solo travelling or in a group I can’t recommend this tour enough!! 🤩

What a great 2/3 days on K’Gari! Saw some amazing sights and had a really great time with the 31 others in our tour group. Lake Mackenzie was beautiful and seeing sunset on top of the sand dunes just outside camp was two of the main highlights. However, arguably the biggest highlight of the tour was our brilliant guide Kev. He was very knowledgeable and informative, but more importantly he was just a great guy and a really good laugh. He made the trip and I don’t think it would have been the same experience without him. I would highly recommend exploring K’Gari with Pippies, and in particular Kev, and you will have an unforgettable experience!

25 and 30 YO couple. I was worried we'd be too old for this tour but it was incredible, brilliant mix of 18-35 year olds. Great atmosphere, opportunity for those to have a drink in the evening if wanted but no pressure to do so. Tents were clean and spacious... Keep the inner shut and u won't make any spider friends! Great shower and toilet block which were cleaned each morning. Pack lightly, there isn't much space in the car for big bags. Loads of food and there's a shop near the tents if you need snacks. Tour guide Scott was amazing- I told him I was nervous to drive but wanted to give it a go, he found an appropriate spot on wet sand for me to try and I loved it. He was great at directions and kept a close eye on all the cars at all time. Saw loads of dingos and the swimming spots were just incredible.
It's been the highlight of our east coast trip so far, made some amazing friends and great memories... wish we could do it again.

Such a good tour. Nate was a hilarious guide and was super chilled and allowed us tons of free time while also keeping us informed about everything. All the dinners he made were so good with very good vegetarian options which was a great bonus. Had such a great time and met such a nice bunch of people

With the 3D/2N Tour on Fraser Island we visited for sure THE spots on the Island. And the convenience of booking the night before and after the tour in Pippies hostel is nice to have.
The group was split up on four 4WD with the possibility of driving, if you are old and experienced enough. The spirit was great, since there were lots of different nationalities of ages between 18 and 30 years.
Unfortunately the provided food was quite cheep and not always enough for all. Especially after a long and exciting day on the island. Maybe that's why they encourage you to bring snacks..
Besides that, the kitchen and camping was well equipped and toilets and showers were clean, but a short walk away from the campground. Still all within a Dingo fence. The guide could have provided a bit more background information in general and a overview of the island, but that might be a personal view.
All in all a good trip, but I think most of the other, similar tours are equally good or better.
