About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Teacosy870 contributionsA leisurely paddle in excellent company. We just finished a most delightful 3 hour tour with Guide David and it exceeded my expectations. the water was so clear and the natural environment made for such a peaceful paddle. David and the team had everything sorted from tasty, fresh fruit and yummy snacks (even a birthday cake for me). dietary requirements were so easily catered for and the equipment was clearly well cared for. I absolutely recommend Navigate Expeditions if you want to explore the local nature.Written 20 September 2024
- J785HMlisah0 contributionsA relaxing experience and I learned some things...I was lucky enough to do a Cultural Tour with guide Nathan Lygon before he takes a break. It was a lovely experience added to the beauty, birdlife and environment of the Pambula River itself. It was relaxing and I learned some very interesting things about First Nations' Culture in this area.Written 18 July 2024
- Luckybeckyblue0 contributionsLovely small group tour with stunning viewsWe had an awesome tour with Navigate Expeditions! It was a small group which we always prefer rather than being packed into a big bus with many others. Our guide was excellent, giving us commentary throughout the tour. The scenery was beautiful at every stop. We saw kangaroo and many pelicans. The highlight was the walk through Beowa National Park. I saw one review that complained about "steep mountainous terrain." Perhaps they were on some other tour because this was not the case at all on the 2 hour tour. The hike was manageable for almost any fitness level, although would not be good for people who need a mobility device. It was easy and we had stunning views. Our guide offered to drop us off right at the ship, or on the main street where there were several nice shops and cafes. We had some spare time before we had to return to the ship so we opted for drop off in town. It was an easy walk downhill back to the ship. It is a small, sleepy little town but this tour was a fantastic introduction to the area.Written 25 April 2024
- LeahYYC0 contributionsRelaxing Kayak Experience and Wonderful Guides! The kayaking was very calm, peaceful and the waters were so insanely clear! My husband and I really enjoyed it. We had 2 excellent guides, David and Keri, and both were attentive, knowledgable and fun! You could see their passion about the area and their work, showing through their guiding. We learned about oysters, different birds in the area, and had a lovely yummy snack on the beach. David had some pretty epic stories, and Keri was so easy to talk to. She alleviated my fear of snakes in the area, as well as helped me identify birds from my poor attempts to mimic their calls :-) . Our group was small and had a great dynamic. Thank you to both guides for the wonderful trip! Jess was equally responsive and helpful in answering questions. She helped when we had a minor hiccup in scheduling and was a pleasure to work with too. We would definitely recommend this tour and company. I found the kayaking was not strenuous at all, and likely many different types of individuals/abilities would be able to participate and enjoy it. Thanks again! :-)Written 24 April 2024
- ShawnaH6980 contributionsEden is a great place to spend a dayThis is a beautiful area to see as a shore excursion. Our 2 hour trip included a stop at a beach and fishing marina where we saw manta rays and birds, a walk in the "bush" to see the big ant hills and native forest, and a drive around the area. The only disappointment was that is was too short! Our guide loved the area and recommended coming back in September if you want to see whales in the area.Written 7 April 2024
- julz11220 contributionsFun tourGreat trip. Mark was a great tour guide. knew everything about the plants and trees. Did a short hike to see the Sapphire coast. Eden is a beautiful placeWritten 31 March 2024
- Resort4830500 contributionsNice tourThis was a nice tour. Eden is small so there is not that much to see, but what there is, is really beautiful. Grant was informative and a good guide as he was a former park ranger. Hint--they will pick you up at the Eden info center--if you are on a cruise, you do NOT need to pay the extra $20 to take a shuttle into town, which is a fairly easy uphill walk anyway.Written 31 March 2024
- MelanieJeremy0 contributionsAmazing kayaking experienceA fantastic experience from start to end. Jess was a great guide, a fun person to be on the water with and was very personable and knowledgeable. Everyone in the group was included and it was a good dynamic. I'd highly recommend this tour as a great way to explore the river.Written 29 March 2024
- 89vicp0 contributionsMemory of a lifetime.Such a great wholesome experience for our whole family. David our guide was kind and had a wealth of knowledge about the area. We learnt about oysters, sea birds, indigenous culture, local knowledge and much more. Everything was supplied for us, even dry bags for belongings. The views were stunning and we were lucky enough to be photographed by a passing pilot. 100% recommend these guys.Written 26 March 2024
- GoTravelLife0 contributionsWonderful tour of EdenYesterday we explored Eden, Australia with Mel. I am absolutely thrilled that we set up the tour as we were really able to see the highlights of this small but very interesting town. We hopped in a small van and the first location we went was a Lookout point that would allow us to see where the whales visit during the winter months. This used to be a big whaling community and there are many descendants still living in the area. Although I didn’t realize we would be going on a hike, we ended up doing a bushwalk back to the pinnacles, which was a lot of fun. Not only did we learn about the Banksia trees, but we also saw huge termite mounds for the first time. We thought they would be sand-textured, but they are very hard, like rock, on the outside. These mounds were all throughout the forest. When we reached the pinnacles beach area, we were blown away by how beautiful it was. There are so many beaches here!! Mel did a great job explaining all of the different flora and fauna and as always, how much of it is trying to kill you, lol We did stop into the marina where they are having a fishing competition this week and it was hopping! Apparently the prize is $50,000 and someone is going to win a brand new boat. They were cleaning the days catch and throwing some of the remnants to some of the largest stingrays I have ever seen. Our last stop was the very small downtown. There are really only 3000 full-time residents so we almost doubled the population in a day. There is a beautiful hotel here that was built in 1904 that they have restored, so the last pictures are of the Hotel. The ceiling restoration was incredibly impressive! This is definitely a spot I could see visiting for a few weeks of respite from a large city.Written 8 March 2024
- 147gaile0 contributionsExcellent small-group tourVery nice small group tour with a good variety of stops included. Our guide was very knowledgeable and assisted with taking photos of everyone. A great way to see this beautiful part of Australia!Written 5 March 2024
- RhondaB2170 contributionsLots of sights and information about the areaKerry (?), our guide, was great - friendly and very knowledgeable and passionate about the Eden area and its environment. The walk to the Pinnacles is a gentle walk, but it is a few hundred metres, so be aware of that, especially if the weather is hot. She had great knowledge of the plants we saw on that walk. There were a couple of stops at beaches (for some to dip their toes into the Pacific) and at the local fishing area where we saw a BIG resident stingray.Written 4 March 2024
- Traveler8340840 contributionsA great tour for cruising passengersFantastic! Rather than book a crowded and overpriced tour offered by the ship I booked the 2 hour highlights of Eden tour. So glad I did. Within minutes of being picked up from the cruise ship terminal, on time, our small group was at a lookout. Our guide, Kerrie, pointed out the key landmarks and shared her knowledge of the area and it's history. So good was the commentary that several people not on our tour were soon listening in and asking questions. They commented to me that their tour involved being pointed to a landmark and told to be back on the bus within x minutes. Our tour then stopped at a good range of natural highlights, each at which Kerrie enthusiastically shared her local knowledge of the area and the natural environment. For a finale we took a detour to view some local stingrays, who dutifully appeared for photographs. This was a warm and friendly small group tour. Highly recommended.Written 29 February 2024
- rodneyhM673AH0 contributionsNice little tourNice little two hour tour includes a short “bush walk” on a trail and some scenic views. Guide can drop you off in the little town and you can walk back to your ship. Long walk if you are a senior. Guide will also drop you off at your ship if you prefer.Written 23 February 2024
- 71beckyf0 contributionsBest day on a world cruiseGreat time with Jess and her in-river superb people. Kept us afloat, bird aware, oyster savvy and safely ashore at the end of a perfect morning. If you like a quiet experience in nature with nice people, this is for you. Thanks Jess & team.Written 17 February 2024
