3 day E-W Traverse: An Amazing Adventure
If you think you would enjoy trekking in this amazing part of Australia, don’t hesitate, just book to go out with Ian at Trek Ningaloo. It was so good to get a view of the Cape Range Park that is seldom seen. We did the 3 day East-West Traverse: fairly full days with lots to look at. Ian was an engaging, easy-going guide with lots of information on the flora, fauna, geology and history of the area, plus a bottomless rucksack with a constant stream of refreshments. Every aspect of the trip was really well thought through, pre-trip communication was excellent, good equipment was provided, there were well-supplied water and food drops to help out, and Ian gave us a comprehensive photographic record at the end of the trip. A highlight for me was at the end of day 2, after walking down from the Cape Range watershed to the ocean that day, followed by a quick dip and snorkel with some amazing staghorn coral, then sitting with a cold beer (!😊 ) on top of a sand dune overlooking the ocean at sunset, and watching and hearing two humpback whales performing tail slaps. We have lots of other great memories of the trip, and being there at night also added to the experience with stunning night skies and hordes of scuttling ghost crabs on the beach. The whole experience couldn’t be bettered. Thank you Ian! I’ve attached a few of the photos Ian took.

          Unique experience
Very well organised trek at a relaxed pace, allowing us to absorb the stunning scenery and wildlife. We loved sleeping under the stars, in a spectacular, isolated location with a full moon rising. Special memories.

          Kid-Friendly Camping Adventure in Exmouth
My son (10 years old) and I had an incredible first-time camping experience with Trek Ningaloo. Ian was a fantastic guide who shared lots of information on the history, flora, fauna and geography of the area. The trip was very educational and my child was interested and engaged the entire time. It was clear that much thought went into the two-day itinerary and the items we carried in our packs. Ian and I carried most of the items from my son’s backpack to lighten his load, but it was still very manageable for me. The hikes were just the right distance to experience multiple terrains and feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. We traveled half-way around the world to swim with Ningaloo’s whale sharks, but it was this camping trip that we will remember most. I highly recommend this trip for adventurous families!

          Beautiful Overnight range hike
Had the best experience with Ian and Erin from Trek Ningaloo! Their knowledge and appreciation for the country is inspiring and the walk itself highlights the best of the range with incredible views over the reef. If you get the opportunity to go on a hike, absolutely do it. Such a special trip, I can’t wait to go again!

A special way to see Cape Range National Park
We had such an amazing experience! Camping up high on the magnificent range overlooking the beautiful Ningaloo reef was a real highlight. The view from camp at sunset was stunning and the star gazing at night was spectacular. There was no one else around, it felt like we had the whole National park to ourselves. We spotted whales and many rock wallabies. Ian was a fantastic guide. He is very passionate and had so much knowledge of the area, the history and the flora and fauna. Ian has included so many thoughtful touches to the trek that really made it special. I would highly recommend this experience !

          10/10 trek
Amazing experience!! Erin and Ian are absolute legends and took us on an awesome trek. Their knowledge of the routes, local area and wildlife is fantastic and I learnt lots on our adventure. It was great to be immersed in nature in places where few people have been before. The views were epic and we covered so many terrains of the Cape range national park from pindan to bush, gorge to dunes! I can’t recommend this tour enough - incredible experience and a wonderful way to experience Ningaloo terrestrially. There are as many treasures on land as there are underwater in this beautiful part of the world.

          Amazing!
The 2 day trek was perfect for seeing the beauty of Exmouth in its entirety. Favourite parts were watching the sunset on day 1 and a run down the dunes and swim in the sea on day 2. Definitely a must when visting Exmouth. Can't wait to come back and do another trek next time. Thanks Ian!

          Wow! What an adventure!
What an amazing adventure the Sunset Reef and Range Overnight Loop was! We had been looking forward to this trek our entire trip, and it exceeded our expectations! The landscape was just stunning, and portrayed the real essence of Ningaloo - red earth, green shrubbery, white sand, and iconic turquoise waters. We even spotted some kangaroos and rock wallabies, and caught an incredible sunset at the campsite before staring up at the Milky Way sharing stories. Ian was fantastic - his passion, knowledge and hospitality topped off the experience! If you’re looking for something off the beaten track, we couldn’t recommend this trek more! Thanks Ian, an experience we will never forget! Rach and Alex, Sydney.

Fantastic 3 day Cape Range trek
Just come off the Cape Range three trek. Fantastic, varied hiking experience. Ian is a thoughtful, personable and highly experienced guide. His preparation and planning, down to water drops and fresh fruit and beer stashed along the way, is immaculate. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to get right into the Cape Range national park and off the beaten track.

          A Truly Awe Inspiring Experience!!
On completing the two day trek, I cannot recommend Trek Ningaloo highly enough! Being immersed within the World Heritage Area offered unique and unforgettable perspectives of the beautiful Ningaloo. The experience was the perfect balance of challenge and tranquility; climbing scarps and gullies, spotting wildlife and camping under the stars. Ian’s expertise and passion ensured we got the most out of both days, including his abundant knowledge of the area’s history and ecosystems. Of note, we chose to undergo the trek despite a rainy forecast. Ian insured we made it to the campground with plenty of time and remained safe, dry, cosy and well fed for the entirety of the trip! The sky show was an absolute bonus! A truly awe inspiring experience!! Thanks again 😄

TRUE GRIT - Yardie to Yardie
Bordering the coast on the north west cape lies the one common ancestor to all the thumbed , finned, furry and feathered . A landscape barely tread by modern man yet is riddled with the evidence of centuries of geographical diversity and cultural imprints. At times a place of hostile tracks although enriched by hospitable , awe striking , wonder.
With every footing a unique effort from somewhat excruciating as the the facades of detailed traverse whisper the woes of this wild rugged country ; yet balanced by the moments of effortless wandering offering refuge to the raw , satiable beauty of organically chiseled ridges, lush biodiversity both flora and fauna and copious jaw dropping landscapes.
The serene atmosphere giving those who endeavour a sense of being an early explorer, intwining with the modern comforts of top notch gear , super tasty food, revitalising sleeping equipment and most valuably adorned and birthed by the most passionate , real-time , transparently humble guide I have ever been honoured to be hosted by. The remnant peeling skin on my feet the only evidence of hardship now a month after when the pure wonder of amazement is the everlasting imprint left on my adventurous spirit. (A better pair of boots on my part could have aided this happening )

An expedition that tested not only the physical demands of ones ability but allowed for seamless camaraderie as the tour wisely wet my appetite for thrilling adventure.
I thought I had experienced the Ningaloo but diving its sapphire waters is barely integrating the whole plain that links the coast to that of the people who nomadically traversed the shoulders of the cape range herself.
After the first steps over the top , being graced with energetic welcoming of sea and cooling rests beneath shade and water this four day whopper of a walk has me emotionally and sentimentally weathered to a grand appreciation of this land down under. With a better pair of shoes and camera I’d take on this impeccable landscape , under the full moon with Trek Ningaloo and the generous mind behind the madness Ian again , and again .
My highest praise and feeling of triumph and adventure. Never had I imagined the pain and pleasure of such an incredible experience. My understanding of this land I’ve adored from afar is so rich with a buzzing cultural curiosity .
Definitely not for the faint of heart but my my if you dare to expand your mind, body and soul in a unique way.... this is the complete sensory awakening you’ve been dreaming of . ....good luck

          Thank you Trek Ningaloo!!
From start to end, Ian helped us experience an awesome part of the Ningaloo ranges and coastline. He supplied everything we needed for this trip, and took the stress of planning out of the way. We enjoyed the challenge of carrying our own supplies and being self equipped. Sleeping under the stars on top of the ranges was astronomical!!! Literally!! We gazed at the milky way, spotted shooting stars and satillites, and even learned a few new constilations! Can't wait to get back next year! Thank you Ian!

          What an experience
It was really an unforgettable hike, up there on the list with the best ones I've done. From the start I wasn't to keen to walk and camp over night but after about only 30 minutes of walking, I was amazed by the amount of wildlife and the view was just unbelievable. I've lived here for 8 years and Ian taught me more about the range and the area than I've learnt over the whole time of living here. The packs as well were so organised. All I needed was my clothes; everything else was pretty much provided. Amazing walk; really appreciated it. Thank you for the experience Trek Ningaloo. Cheers, Kai

A taste of the Cape Range
Such an amazing way to explore the stunning landscape of the Cape Range and create memories with our family. The different terrains made the overnight hike challenging but enjoyable. I loved that all the equipment was provided but also loved the simplicity of carrying all that we needed on our backs. The weather was perfect and the scenery like an ever changing piece of art as we climbed to the top of the range to our camp. The variety of flora and fauna was spectacular and Ian's knowledge of the area was impressive. I felt on top of the world and a part of nature as we slept under the beautiful milky way. We descended into the gorge the next day, the crystal blue waters of the Ningaloo Reef our end point. I was glad for the gaiters as we trekked through the grassy, spinifex plains and onto the white sands of the beach. A refreshing swim before heading along the coast for the last leg home. But not before passing by untouched sand dunes full of incedible archeological significance. Looking forward to the 3 day hike next. Hike amazing, food fantastic, company awesome, memories unforgettable.

After 7 days in Exmouth we declared this was our highlight. The 6 hour trek was manageable and you were provided with the necessary kit of sticks, gaiters and chairs. Ian our guide was brilliant and it would not have been the same experience without him. He did a superb job looking after weaker group members throughout. Bravo Ian Bravo! The dip at the jawdroppingly stunning Sandy Bay was the perfect end to a marvellous day.

We were inspired by Tim Winton's documentary to make sure we explored landside while at Ningaloo Reef, and Ian's tour did not disappoint! It was great to walk on such beautiful country and get a better understanding of the complex geological and ecological makeup of Cape Range. Would highly recommend the experience.

A fantastic way to get a different perspective of Ningaloo. Looking out at the ocean we saw lots of wales for morning tea, then continued our walk around the gorge to spectacular scenery and magnificent ancient fossilised coral landscapes. Ian was terrific answering all our questions along the way. A thoroughly enjoyable day, like going out for a hike with a good mate.

Awesome day trekking through cape range National park with Ian and one other. He took us to see Charles (not Stanley!) knife gorge first which was a lovely little detour. We then got to Yardie creek gorge and began our days trek. Ian is very knowledgable about the local area and the plant life there. The pace was perfect to be able to take in all the surroundings and have a chat while we walked. Ian was very patient and made sure we were all good. The lunch spot was amazing, beautiful views and the peaceful surroundings with some birds for company. I can highly recommend this trek with Ian and am just gutted I did not have more time to do one of the overnight treks. We even went for a quick dip in Sandy bay afterwards. Thank you very much Ian and Preeti for making this such an enjoyable day.
