About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- philswitchengage0 contributionsAn incredible experience!A fantastic experience, made even better by having the boat to ourselves as the only 3 people booked for that session! We were picked up from our accommodation and dropped back afterwards, the team were friendly and knowledgeable, and although we didn’t see any turtles while in the water (although we did see some from the boat) we still saw plenty of marine life including reef sharks, fish and coral. Highly recommended!Written 20 March 2025
- AntDon430 contributionsNingaloo reef is amazing… staff fantastic. The whole experience was seamless the pick up was on time, the boat trip and snorkeling was amazing. Staff were knowledgeable. So helpfulWritten 8 January 2025
- Kiana B0 contributionsA must do in Exmouth!!We highly recommend this tour! The service from accommodation pick up - all the way through to the end of the tour was amazing. As someone who isn’t confident with swimming in the ocean, I felt very safe with Jan and the Skipper. Nothing but fun and good laughs on board!Written 12 November 2024
- Belinda W0 contributionsFabulous snorkelling tour on the Ningaloo reefWonderful experience for us and our children aged 11 and 8. Lots of marine life to see, helpful and friendly staff that went out of their way to ensure the children felt safe and got to see everything that was there on the day. We had gone a few days earlier when the weather was wild, windy and cool. We didn't see much and we were refunded our money, which was very kind of the tour owner. We really wanted to get the full experience so rebooked a few days later when we knew the weather was much nicer. We were so glad we did. It was a magical morningWritten 6 October 2024

- jenbS9366AM0 contributionsGreat afternoon on the reef. What a great introduction to the reef. As a first time snorkeler it was very reassuring that time and attention was made to ensure that the equipment was right and that we were comfortable in the water. Ken and his crew were so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for a better afternoon viewing the beautiful fish and coral and of course the amazing turtles.Written 5 August 2024
- chadaQ1824AL0 contributionsBest snorkel and wildlife experienceWe booked a full day private charter for 9 people and everyone had a great day. We were warned it was very windy and given the option to cancel and get a refund. But the tour really catered for the weather and we snorkelled 3 very different sites. Over the day we saw baby rays, reef sharks, dugongs, turtles, dolphins and many others. The boat was comfortable and all staff helpfulWritten 5 July 2024
- mollygA2137IO0 contributionsQuick and excellent.A great opportunity to see the reef. This is a great choice if you have a limited amount of time. In total the tour took around 3 hours and we got two different snorkelling opportunities. We saw turtles and many different fish. Our guide was great at pointing out different interesting things to view.Written 1 July 2024
- LAR600 contributionsA wonderful introduction to Ningaloo Reef :)We count ourselves fortunate to find this tour the evening before (2 spots available only). We left making bookings too late for whale sharks but continued to search for an experience. We were collected from our accommodation and transferred to the other side of the peninsular where we cruised off to snorkel. (I apologise, I am hopeless remembering names) our driver and eventually snorkeling guide is a German lass. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Enjoyed learning some of the history and statistics of the Communications Network located at the tip of the peninsula. Small but excellent boat. Captain helpful and friendly. Both he and our guide demonstrated great care regarding safety. They provided our snorkeling gear and into the water we all jumped. Our guide towed a floating yellow bar and we followed her around different coral outcrops and bommies. Colours of water, coral and fish so special. No turtles that day but sooo many fish and such a variety. We also saw a lion fish, several reef sharks and a large stingray. Between snorkeling locations we were provided with crackers, vegie sticks, dip, cake and fruit plus water and cordials. Highly recommend this tour.Written 24 June 2024

We saw sooo many fish, amazing coral, a few turtles and dugongs! Couldn't recommend enough for a half day tour.Written 20 June 2024
- ScottishLassie650 contributionsA wonderful experienceAbsolutely amazing snorkelling. So many beautifully coloured fish, even saw a few turtles. The guys were absolutely amazing, so informative and helpful. Plenty of snorkel time in the water and lovely snacks when you get back on board. The leopard shark was great! And you get very well looked after with yummy snacks on board. I will book this again next time I‘m up there.Written 5 May 2024

This really is a must do trip - it’s a small group- max 12 and there were 10 on our trip. Ken and Kate were very hospitable and really looked after us. The boat was very stable we rear ladder access to the water so easy to get on and off. Noodles were available and, for me, this gave extra confidence in the water. Masks, snorkel and fins were supplied and Kate took great care to ensure they fitted well and changed mine to improve the fit.
Stopped at 4 sites all of which had a great range of wildlife and the corals were spectacular, especially on the last site within the marine sanctuary. In addition to the range of fish, we saw dolphins on the way out and a turtle as well as a tiger shark swimming by. There were 2 resting reef sharks on one of the drops as well!
A really packed day with a break for lunch where we waded to shore to return to eat on the boat. Made our holiday and we would thoroughly recommend.

We had signed up for this tour up towards Exmouth.
It was absolutely worth it, we were only 3 people in total, plus the skipper and guide.
Everyone was very punctual, open-minded, chatty and helpful.
We saw a lot, and afterwards we were provided with lunch.
Awesome experience!
Absolutely worth the money!
We saw turtles, sharks, octopus, stingrays and huge species of fish and corals!
I can only recommend this tour!
Thank you very much!

We had booked a full day tour of the Ningaloo reef, but unfortunately that was cancelled due to weather. However, Ken offered us a half day tour and it was beyond our expectations. We saw turtles, an octopus, and cute little reef fish. Ken and his team were amazing when my son was keen to get into the water and snorkel for the first time, but then had a little panic attack. They brought my son and I back on board and let us finish the tour on the boat whilst everyone else snorkelled. I could not recommend this company enough! If you’re ever in Exmouth or Ningaloo and want something to do, contact Cape Immersion Tours for an unforgettable experience!

A fantastic morning out with Tricky and Janine. They made everyone feel welcome and confident to head out for a snorkel no matter their level of fitness. This excursion is the best way to get out to see beautiful coral and amazing sea life in the safe, warm waters of the Ningaloo Reef.
This is my second time with Cape Immersion. The full day with a BBQ lunch on the beach was brilliant and today’s half day tour certainly didn’t disappoint with new and incredible sites to explore and a few snacks to keep away the hunger between snorkels.
I’d recommend this bright friendly ‘yellow boat’ to everyone wanting to explore the fringing coral reef beyond the shoreline. Thank you Cape Immersion Tours, I’ll be back again.

Best snorkelling tour in Exmouth. Saw so much marine life in a relaxed setting all day. Had time to enjoy it rather than a quick look and off. The food was fabulous and the small group was more personal than tours with bigger groups. I’d definitely recommend this tour. I’d say it was better than the whale shark tour as it was less regimented, more relaxed, you get more for the money you pay and you get to spend more time with the marine life. It was a magical day seeing dugongs, hump backs, turtles, sharks, dolphins, rays, coral and lots of colourful fish.

BEST SNORKELLING TOUR IN EXMOUTH - We agree! We do aim for a relaxing day. We like to say 'see the Ningaloo the way the locals do' - like hanging out with your friends for the day - personal and enjoyable, with plenty of time to soak in all that the magical reef has to offer. We appreciate your recommendation.

Excellent day spent out on the water with this lovely team of 3.
All three guides worked together well as a team to maximise our experience out in the water. Great snorkelling and yummy bbq lunch provided on a white sandy beach with turquoise water. X1 snorkel and x2 drift snorkels (weather dependent for drift snorkels) Heaps of fish, coral … we even spotted reef sharks and stingrays. On our cruise back to the boast ramp we were able to spot numerous turtles as well as dolphins and dugongs. Lots fitted into one day but it did not feel rushed at all. Small group size was also an added bonus.

Great to hear! it is our aim to create an enjoyable day and see plenty of wildlife without rushing. The best way to see the reef is to relax and enjoy whatever we come across and it sounds like you saw plenty. The abundance and variety of life on the reef is what makes it such a special and unique place. Small groups allow you the space and time to really relax and enjoy this, plus a bbq on the beach is always a highlight. Thanks for the review - hope to see you again.

Incredible experience. Skipper was very entertaining and full of information about each area we visited. 3 different snorkelling sites where we encountered reef sharks, stingrays, dolphin and turtles and a multitude of exquisite colourful fish. Lunch was at Mangrove Bay where stingrays and baby sharks were swimming around our ankles. Brilliant day out. Would definitely rebook should we return

My partner and I booked a day trip to visit Muiron Island, after about a 50min exceptionally bumpy ride we arrived at our first snorkelling spot. We were very apprehensive to get off the boat as we are inexperienced swimmers/snorkellers and we were a considerable distance offshore however Janine has calm, confidence about her and so we both felt safe enough to get into the water. It turned out to be an incredible day of snorkelling, we saw so many different fish, turtles, reef shark, stingrays, colourful coral etc. How time flies by when you're having fun. We enjoyed this experience very much - the only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is due to the fact that I threw up four times throughout the day - that was not much fun at all so if you have an inkling that you might get seasick I highly recommend you prepare in advance!

Hi Merisha, sorry you were sick but very happy you persevered and went on to have such a good day. We do put a lot of effort in to cater for all abilities/experience levels so everyone can enjoy our spectacular reef and we agree Janine is an asset to our team. People can prepare for sea sickness by taking medication the night before and on the morning of the tour, however we don't get too many bumpy days. Good luck with your next snorkeling adventure - we hope you are hooked now!

The crew were really professional and knowledgeable going out of their way to make sure we enjoyed the trip with them.
Even though there was an over abundance of jelly fish at the time they used every asset available to them to find us high quality snorkeling spots.
Considering this is a local business it should really be supported as they offer an awesome experience

Thanks guys! Sorry to hear the red bell jellyfish were out - they disappear as quickly as they show up. Glad to hear our crew managed to still find you some quality spots to snorkel - that is the advantage of having an adaptable tour as unfortunately mother nature is not always easy to work with. If you are returning to Exmouth let us know and we would be happy to offer you a return discount so you can see even more of the reef uninterrupted.

This was my first time snorkelling. I'm not a very confident swimmer but Janine put me at ease and made sure I was well looked after. It was a small group of 7 adults and 2 children. Tommy and Janine were great guides. Janine was very knowledgeable and made sure she spent time with everyone on the boat.
We saw plenty of marine life including a very big stingray. We did 2 snorkel sessions then after a lovely BBQ lunch we headed out in search of whales and saw some adult whales swimming along. We also saw dolphins and a baby reef shark during the day. I am so glad I did this tour and would definitely rebook on my next visit to Exmouth.
