About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Uzone500 contributionsBeautiful Place, Ocean ViewsParking is easy, room for campervans and buses also. Staff welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately the tea rooms have closed permanently. The lighthouse is locked and only open if you take one of the guided tours. The museum is really interesting and interactive. Views from the deck are amazing there is a path to the beach if you fancy a walk. It's an 18km drive from town, quite pretty and there are nice grounds with a play area for children and well stocked shop for souvenirs.Written 2 September 2024
- AndrewYew0 contributionsShort LighthouseYou should visit this lighthouse before the Leeuwin Lighthouse as it is quite short. The waters around the lighthouse are also not as dramatic as at Leeuwin.Written 26 May 2024
- Johnstanno0 contributionsWorth spending 45mins here!Suggest to visit before 3pm as there is a closing time to this attraction. We did not take the guided tour but we are all good walking to the lighthouse, take photos, enjoy the sea breeze then stroll back down (just simple one way up and down). Even bought a souvenir from the shop there. I think is a must to visit.Written 9 March 2024
- Jaci v0 contributionsGreat views!A wonderful short tour of this historic landmark. Carmen, our guide was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. She answered our questions easily and was both approachable and friendly. The lighthouse itself was interesting and had the best views of the coast and whales migrating out to sea. Highly recommended!Written 18 October 2023
- SSDCCCOMAU0 contributionsToo many rules and restrictions for visiting the inside of the lighthouseLike most of the coastline, views are amazing. Too many rules and restrictions for visiting the inside of the lighthouse. Make it easier for kids (teens) to learn about lighthouses and have a good experience.Written 2 October 2023
- Chrisneoh690 contributionsMidget Lighthouse..interestingsince we went to Cape Leeuwin lighthouse all the way south the day b4 we decided to do the one all the way north the next day. the surprise was this lighthouse is very short, since it sits on top of a hill. and the lighthouse keepers had it easier as their dwelling is shielded from the wind, being at bottom of the rise rather than being right in the wind, as was the case at Cape Leeuwin. Took all of 10 mins to see everything but keeper was very friendly and recommended we see Sugarloaf Rock which was well worth seeing.Written 30 August 2023
- Casey5580 contributionsA nice point to viewA good leisure walk from the entrance to the lighthouse itself. It's a bit pricey for a short guided tour of the lighthouse. It's a good experience for one to see the inside of a lighthouseWritten 16 May 2023
- 544theaj0 contributionsCape Naturalise Lighthouse experienceDid not do tour as walked up to lighthouse, views stunning and thought extra $16 for just going up in lighthouse not worth the money as for $4 views just as stunning.Written 16 May 2023
- shellsbells630 contributionsLOVELY OLD LIGHTHOUSEThis is a beautiful lighthouse with a gorgeous view. Unfortunately you cannot just go and visit this lighthouse without paying a fee. Lovely grounds with gardens and a cafe which wasn't open at the time we wentWritten 2 May 2023
- annt1020 contributionsAccessible walk along the coastWe didn't go for a tour, just wandered around the historic precinct and then went for a walk. An accessible walk has been built along the coast from the lighthouse so as this meant that it wasn’t going to be too arduous, we embarked on it – walking for about 45 minutes through what I call coastal heath. In other words, I don’t really know what the landscape is called. It’s full of a variety of low-level bushes of endlessly different colours – from silver, though olive, and various greens. There just aren’t enough words for green – yellow-green, grey-green, eucalyptus-green, blue-green. And every so often there was a flash of colour of a flower or in one case, a magnificent tiny red beetle with rainbow coloured marks on its back. A very pleasant stroll.Written 26 April 2023
- westy540 contributionsWho would have wanted to be a light house keeper? Good informative tour.Lots of free parking near to the ticket office and entrance. Ticket office also had a good deal of information about the lighthouse and surrounding attractions available as well as souvenirs and other goods for sale. There were some displays of maritime history and old photographs and equipment in one of the cottages which used to house the lighthouse keepers and their families. We purchased tickets for the Lighthouse Precinct and Tower which took around 30 minutes. Our guide was Dave who was very informative. There is approximately just over a 100 metre slightly uphill walk from the cafe, which is in the same group of buildings as the ticket office, to the base of the lighthouse. It is then 61 steps (my count which was slightly different to Dave's and the advertised 59) to get to the top of the lighthouse and exit onto the outside balcony. Once outside, if not blown away, you can enjoy great panoramic views of the Indian Ocean, Cape Naturaliste and the Geographe Bay coastline. The lighthouse was built in 1903 from locally quarried limestone. It stand approximately 20 metres high. The three lighthouse keepers' cottages are made of stone and were completed in 1904. The light was originally powered by a vapourised kerosene lamp that required the lighthouse keepers to regularly carry buckets of kerosene up the stairs. Dangerous and strenuous work. The light was only converted to automatic operation in 1978. Enjoyable and informative visit. quarried locallyWritten 16 April 2023
- Mike A0 contributionsWell worth a visit!Hadn’t actually visited before but had seen directions to this and so glad we did call in. An interesting place with some fascinating history and great vantage point for photos. Staff were very pleasant (as are almost all Aussies) and had a great time - if you’re down south get yourself in. Bonus is some fantastic beaches nearby too.Written 7 April 2023

- DeniseRoache0 contributionsWindy Cape visitThis lighthouse is in an elevated position and therefore not as tall as the Cape Leeuwin lighthouse. Tours offered along with fabulous views of the cape and ocean to the north and south. Several of the original caretakers cottages are still in use with one now a popular cafe. Bring a jacket!Written 29 January 2023

Learning the history. Was very informative and the Kids enjoyed looking out from the top, a little expensive for what it was.
I was going to wait outside and look around with our dog whilst my family went for the tour but no dogs are allowed not even in the car park

We really enjoyed our tour of the lighthouse. Paul was a great guide and we were fortunate enough to be in a small group which made the tour even more enjoyable. Great insight into the life of the lighthouse keepers as well as a great view from the top. The only thing that could have made it even better would have been a couple of whales swimming by.

We were a little underwhelmed with this tour. The guide didn't have a lot to say about the lighthouse. It can all be completed really quickly and we didn't really feel like it was an enjoyable experience. We would also have liked to have seen inside the lighthouse keeper's cottages and to learn more about life living there. Of course, the view from the top of the lighthouse is spectacular but that was worth more than the tour itself.

The three of us (adult and two teens) were given a wonderful tour of the lighthouse and surrounds by our friendly and knowledgeable guide Reuben. The light is amazing in this part of Australia and the views from the top of the lighthouse were magnificent. Highly recommended.

This was a very enjoyable visit. The highlight was the guided tour included entering and climbing the lighthouse with, as you would expect, excellent 360 degree views. The tour guide gave an excellent and insightful description on the lighthouses history and also on how the lighthouse works both past and present. The grounds surrounding the lighthouse were picturesque and excellent views of the ocean can be seen from ground level. The site is not that large so around an hour is all that's required to fully enjoy the site

Worth our while going on a guided tour to understand the history of the lighthouse and its surroundings. Breathtaking views from the top of the lighthouse (also not too many steps going up). Very friendly staff and tourguide.

It was our lovely guide Reuben’s last tour on his last day of guiding before heading off to Uni to study Environmental Science. We are convinced he’ll be great at whatever he chooses to do in life. The early evening light, rainbowed by the lenses in the magnificent revolving lamp, was particularly beautiful at this time of day and we swooned at the sweeping views across the Nature Reserve towards Sugar Loaf Rock and Bunker Bay. A must see for anyone visiting down south.

Book before you go to insure you can get on a tour. It can get very busy.
Smaller than the light house at cape Leeuwin but still has a lot of character. Beautiful location and the views are amazing. There is a little cottage you can have a look in where the light house masters would live.
Holly our guide was lovely and very informative.
There is a lovely gift shop on site and a cafe (which is currently closed).
This light house is still in use today.

The staff were all lovely but basically it isn't very high, which I know is obvious from the outside, but there isn't much to it. Maybe some stories about past shipwrecks would have added to it. What you get is a tiny story at the start, but more when you go in, you go up, you go down.
