About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Deborah H0 contributionsDo take this tourWe were collected promptly from our resort by the guys. They obviously know the area and it's flora and fauna very well. We walked in several different areas and thoroughly enjoyed learning from them all sorts of interesting facts. We also got to try some local produce which was a tasty end to the tour in the company of kangaroos. We particularly loved the tiny carnivorous plants and the fantastic nightjar. These guys really know there stuff and we thoroughly recommend this tour.Written 8 September 2024

- B9137PTsophiab0 contributionsAuthentic, fun and informative nature experience for the whole familyI can highly recommend the Nocturnal Animal tour from Busselton. Our group ranged in age from 6 to 80 years old, and all had a wonderful experience. Authentic, fun and informative. We hope to attend again in the future, as every season and every night is different in the bush.Written 17 June 2024
- DavidI2610 contributionsAn experience to truly embrace our wonderful WA at night.Wow, what an incredible experience. Ryan and Mick were the most wonderful hosts. They knew the land, the history, and really acted as the animal whisperers. This is honestly the best thing I have done in the South West.Written 17 April 2024
- karenlE6907TK0 contributionsThe kids are still talking about this …We took three of our grandchildren ( 9, 7 and 7) on this tour and they loved it! Ryan and Mick were knowledgeable and patient and friendly. We loved the native tea. The way they catered for the kids was fantastic and the kids were still talking about it days later. Very worthwhile (especially if you or your kids have not been up close and personal with our Australian wildlife).Written 15 April 2024
- Aline137200 contributionsOne life time experience!Amazing experience! Owners are very knowledgable and ready to answers all the questions. We want to go back. Highly recommended.Written 7 April 2024
- HelenB45910 contributionsMagical momentsWhat an amazing event. Perfect for our family of 3 generations with ages 5 through to 70s. We were picked up from our accommodation in Dunsborough for the 20 minute drive to the bushland sanctuary. Right from the start the kids were spell bound. They had no sooner downed their hot chocolate when the kangaroos and bandicoots appeared. Mick’s explanation of how to best feed the kangaroos was easily understood and enabled all the children to participate without any concerns. Then the informative bushwalk and star gazing made for a brilliant evening all round. Thankyou Ryan and Mick!!Written 31 March 2024
- williamdH3732OI0 contributionsBill and Clare's Nocturnal animal tour.A wonderful tour that was both informative and entertaining. The only people having more fun than us two adults were the three children of a very patient mother, who enthusiastically threw themselves into discovering the bugs, birds and marsupials on the reserve. Well done Mick and Ryan!Written 31 March 2024
- barley20 contributionsFabulous trip!We were very fortunate that we were the only customers & had a wonderful tour with the two fab guides (who are brothers). They are interesting & knowledgable & showed us the most beautiful sights. We were also provided a delicious platter of local produce, whilst watching dolphins with amazing views of the bay. We did a short enjoyable walk on one of the trails. The guys were great to chat to & we were looked after very well. Thank you!Written 26 March 2024
- dkinlan0 contributionsWildlife Encounter in bushland settingExcellent nocturnal nature tour on the conservation property which is a wildlife oasis surrounded by farmland. Great to see eastern grey kangaroos, brush tailed possums and bandicoot up close and in their natural environment. Both Mick and his colleague were very knowledgeable and engaging. great lemon Myrtle tea and cookies! We visited the sanctuary owner the next day to inspect their accommodation all very nice so will stay here next time we visit the region.Written 21 March 2024
- pandoras5030 contributionsA must do! Nocturnal tour - Animals with attitude - particularly Snag ToothA must do experience, book up and be amazed!! Michael was a terrific guide, with a passion for the wildlife and deep understanding of how to show us the best. The animals roam freely so no-one can predict exactly what will happen, however we saw, were able to feed and under instruction pet 8 kangaroos, 2 possums and watched several bandicots feeding. We also saw spiders, a tree scorpion( apologies if not right name) and a sleeping bird. Then the opportunity to star gaze taking advantage of the lack of ambiant light. Michael had as much knowledge to share about the stars as he did with the animals. Truly a highlight for my trip from the UKWritten 20 March 2024
- katecI7192TC0 contributionsNocturnal magicTremendous ! Great to meet native animals in the wild so close, but also Ryan and Mick are so full of genuine enthusiasm for the animals and land they live in and SO much information. I’m from the uk so all the native animals and plants are new to me. We were given so much info re WA plants / animals/ stars. A trip well worth doing and many thanks to Ryan and Mick for their fantastic presentation. I hope they manage to re establish the woylies! I would definitely recommend this to any visitor to WAWritten 7 March 2024
- cleo54c0 contributionsNatures WayIf you love nature this is a great tour. Mark certainly knows all the areas to take you to to view the wild life, explain the history and show some spectacular views. We went and kangaroos on golf course that is used in the off season as it is a dust bowl. The kangaroos were all resting under the trees and here we had morning tea which was well receive. Mark also explained about plant life and the different vegetation with names, how old they were and how to tell, and what they could be used for. Highly recommend especially if visiting by cruise ship as better than what they offer.Written 28 February 2024
- I9768DAbenr0 contributionsGreat family adventureGreat experience for all the family. The guides were very experienced and had a vast knowledge on the bush and wildlife. Look foreard to going again. One point to note is take a jumper/jacket even in summer as the temperature drops especially if there is a wind.Written 27 February 2024

Mick and Ryan were friendly and very knowledgable giving interesting commentary on the region and places we stopped. Wine tasting was great - enjoyed the lesson on how to do it properly. Great to see the dolphins in the bay!
Thought we might get closer to the lighthouse - it was too far away to photograph - and we didn’t stop at canal rocks. There was no afternoon tea either which was noted on what to expect.
Would have liked to return through Yallingup forest as per itinerary but understood the need to drop people off at Margaret River.
All in all an enjoyable trip 😊

Ryan & Mick were just fantastic hosts. So incredibly knowledgeable of the area. Although I’ve been to Margaret River on many occasions I learnt so much from them.
I would highly recommend this tour to take a break from driving, sit back, enjoy the most amazing scenery and feel in very capable hands.
Thank you again

Ryan and Mick were fantastic tour guides. Very knowledgeable and passionate about their environment. We loved that they are locals themselves and have first hand experiences in the area. Very friendly guys. The fact that they only had our group of 3, and still went ahead with the tour was amazing.

My husband and I had a few days in Busselton and wanted to experience a tour that took us to places we would not normally go to. Ryan and Mick did just that. It was super amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They have a vast amount of knowledge of the area and are two of the nicest guys you would wish to meet. We were the only couple on this tour which made it extra special. The scenery on this tour is breathtaking and we took lots of photos along the way. We stopped at a couple of wineries and tried the local wines (and bought a few bottles to take home), chocolate factory (not the Margaret River one), olive oil factory which was amazing and smelled good too, and lastly visited a woodfired bread place and went away with a couple of loaves of bread. This is the best tour we have ever experienced and would highly recommend it. Thanks Ryan and Mick for a fantastic afternoon.

My sister and I were the only passengers booked for the half-day wine and sights tour and were grateful to Ryan and Mick for going ahead with the tour. Even though the weather took a turn and rained for most of it, we still had a great time, lots of laughs and enjoyed the views and the samples of wine we tasted along the way. These guys have a lot of knowledge and passion about the environment and how to protect it.

We did this half day tour from Busselton picking up a couple in Dunsborough. From the start Mick & Ryan gave us an in-depth insight into the area , it’s culture, and the environment . This encompassed their life stories as well as their excellent knowledge of the local flora and fauna, be it land/bush or marine. At our first fantastic bay viewpoint a bottle of wine was produced , optionally I was offered a lovely local beer from a nearby craft brewery together with some bread & olive oil. They showed their knowledge of the wineries be it history or production and we visited a small vineyard and a larger one for some fine tastings. The other visit was for tastings at a chocolate producer and there was never any pressure to buy. We stopped at a few more scenic viewpoints & our final stop allowed us to photograph a family or two of grey kangaroos . The whole day was unfofgettable.

We did a half day afternoon tour. The whole experience was very informative. We went to places we had never been to before, and we are from Perth.
We were told so much about the history of the area that we did not know about.
The wineries we went to were completely different from each other. The wines and the service from both places were outstanding. Happy, helpful and knowledgeable.
We also went to a beautiful boutique chocolate makers called Gabriel Chocolate. Again, the story behind the making of the chocolate was well explained, and needless to say we enjoyed a few tastings.
The van we were in was brand new and very comfortable. We stopped and had a glass of wine with bread and some smooth local olive oil, overlooking 3 beautiful bays and we even saw dolphins. Binoculars were provided and were crystal clear.
We highly recommend doing a tour with this company, kept us up to date at all stages and our guide was really down to earth.
We will definitely be doing a different tour next time we are in Busselton. Five stars!
