- anthonysC4953DA0 contributionsVisiting Jewel CaveThe Jewel Cave is amazing. 250 steps down and have to return but worth the experience through the cave. Claire our guide was very informative and could answer all our questions. If you like looking at caves this is an amazing cave to visit.Written 6 August 2024
- 422gilk0 contributionsNeeds better advertising that you need to book aheadMake sure you book a head. We missed out seeing this cave. Look under Margaret River Caves. They only do aloted times during the day and can only fit so many people in their per time allowment.Written 11 January 2024

- 879rebeccaa0 contributionsAmazing!Amazing cave experience. Photos don’t do it justice. We did it with our 2 children aged 11 and 6. Richard was our tour guide and he was fantastic! We ate lunch at the cafe which was delicious. We’re a family of 3 coeliacs and there were lots of gluten free options (without the extra surcharge you usually get)Written 12 April 2023
- HotAussietraveller0 contributionsEasy and accessibleGreat tour, very easy pace for people of any age. Stairs and handrails throughout the cave and easy parking.Written 16 January 2023
- CarolineA18790 contributionsAmazing place.Really worth paying a visit. 1 hour long guided tour which was very informative. Fantastic stalagmites and stalactites taking 1000’s of years to form. Need to have certain amount of fitness and there are stairs down and stairs up and a slight increase in carbon dioxide levels.Written 19 December 2022
- Bridget R0 contributionsA fun and interesting visitI had never visited a cave before visiting Jewel Cave and was not disappointed. - Theophilus_Maximus0 contributionsCave with sparkles that take your breath away! You enter this cave via a huge sinkhole. A recent bushfire destroyed a lot of the infrastructure and it was re-opened only ten days before our visit. The sinkhole into the cave is breath-taking, but not nearly as amazing as the floating table feature in the cave. As a "lake" still exists in this cave, unlike the other ones in the region, many of the stalactites and stalagmites are still active. Would definitely recommend visiting this caveWritten 7 July 2022
- 619jeffry0 contributionsCave has spectacular formationsJewel Cave is the largest tourist cave in WA's southwest. It has three massive chambers, with spectacular formations, It has a long straw, which is one of the largest in Australia. It's well worth a visit if you are in the Margaret River area.Written 9 March 2022
- Z4970UVmichaeld0 contributionsA fantastic cave experience, worth every penny.Fantastic cave system and fantastic guide. The cave system is extremely impressive and the walking track through is well laid out and easy to navigate. It can be a bit hard going on the way out as the cave is deep, but it is certainly accessible to anyone of reasonable fitness and mobility. Our guide (unfortunately I can’t remember his name), was extremely friendly, personable highly knowledgeable and his ‘dad jokes’ kept the mood light cheerful throughout the trip. Overall it was a fantastic experience and great value for money.Written 7 January 2022
- sharoncN4394GR0 contributionsGREAT EXPERIENCEThere were only myself and my husband on the tour which was really good because we were able to ask our guide lots of questions. The cave was amazing and so much to look at . Our guide was Murray and he was very informative and professional and was able to answer all our questions . I have visited many caves over the years but this was my best experience. Thanks to our guide Murray.Written 22 December 2021

Another stunning cave in the region, led by a fully guided tour. Great tour guide with a lot of knowledge. These caves are definitely to be admired. Managable amount of stairs in this one as it's broken up in levels. There is also a cafe on site. Recommend booking tours online if you're going on a weekend as we saw many people turned away due to fully booked tours.

Our guide, Richard, was one of the most sanguine and passionate guides we've had. He was knowledgeable and a lot of fun and engaged the group (comprised of folk aged four to 64) throughout the tour. A local recommended the Jewel Cave as the best of the region's four caves. Of the two caves we've been to it was certainly the better.

Incredible! This is the only cave we went to so can't compare it with the others, but it was absolutely amazing. We had no idea these existed and the amount of crystal was mind blowing. Our tour guide Rowena was excellent and pitched her explanations and stories at the kids so even our youngest (5) was engaged the whole time.

Came with husband and two teenage kids to visit Jewel Cave.
Booking system easy to use.
Family ticket good value for a full hour tour (happy wallet).
Reasonably sized group allowed for questions to be asked and answered (happy son).
Stairs with handrails easily negotiated (happy Mum).
Richard our guide was cheerful and clearly knowledgeable. He explained the geology well and in a way everyone could understand (happy Dad). The food analogies were entertaining too!
The caves and their spectacular crystal displays were awesome. The curly heliocytes particularly incredible! Plenty to see - many different kinds of formations to photograph (happy teenage daughter) and learn about.
Light displays pretty and appreciated.
Afterwards we enjoyed refreshments in the cafe, served with a smile.
Finished with a short walk trail from car park to see the original cave entrance and hunt down a geocache!
Look forward to being able to see the Thylacine skeleton found here when Perth Museum reopens.

We recently visited Jewel cave, what a delight!
We checked the website which said good for children.
Maybe not for a 3 year old, there are around 500 steps, at various stages and levels of steepness and you may find the higher concentration of CO2 challenging if you have a medical condition.
We throughly enjoyed it, I did have to carry my 3 year old for most of it.
Roughly 45minutes guided tour, very informative and beautiful, cafe was lovely for a coffee post tour.

Pebs was an fantastic guide. She had all the facts and figures and fielded questions with finesse! It was a midweek tour during COVID so only 5 of us on the tour. We had ample time to look around and take photos. There was no sense of rush at all that I have experienced on tours elsewhere.
As the cave was only discovered in the 1950s the formations remain almost pristine and glitter beautifully in the lighting.
Fabulous experience and thoroughly recommended.
(Teamed with the Leeuwin Lighthouse Ticket makes it a bargain too!)

I loved my visit to Jewel Cave. It’s size is incomprehensible. A guided tour is the only way to see this cave, but it’s well worth the $22 dollars. Our tour guide was Richard and he did an amazing job transferring his knowledge and enthusiasm to us. Gift shop has a nice selection including lots of kids toys. There’s also a bar/restaurant area which we didn’t use. Toilets are available. 20-30 minute walking trail outside as well, best done after finish your tour through the cave. It shows the main entrance to the cave.

Dear monkeystephanie,
Thanks for taking the time to post some feedback. We’re always happy to hear about excellent visitor experiences at Jewel Cave. Richard is a great guide - I like the question he often asks on tour - "When was the last time you stood in a room that wasn't made by humans?" Hmmm, he's got a good point!
Thanks again, and safe travels.

Wonderful experience visited Jewel Cave. The tour leader was so awesome and patient with our group of students from UWA. I highly recommend to stop by here if visiting down South. The cave is very clean, a lot of lights so that visitors can see unique features inside cave.

Great value for money. We really enjoyed this tour and appreciated being able to move our tour time to an earlier slot when we arrived earlier than expected. After doing the tour with all of the steps and steep/narrow parts, I feel like these details should be added so people know what to expect. (Maybe list the number of steps and state that small children need to be carried for some of the steep and narrow parts?) Our tour guide did a fantastic job repeatedly trying to shush a small noisy toddler so the rest of us could enjoy the tour and hear the commentary, (Not really an appropriate tour for a 2 year old)

Absolutely awe inspiring natural beauty in this magnificent cave system. I was moved to tears at times. Our guide Chad was wonderfully informative and yet also knew when to be silent and to allow the tour participants to soak in the sacred space. Trainee tour guide Luke also offered some fascinating insights - both guides really added to the already mind blowing visual and energetic experience. We particularly loved when the lights go out and you feel hugged by Mother Earth. Highly recommend..
