- 119pattyb0 contributionsNice Way to Spend An AfternoonWe really wanted to see this museum and we were not disappointed. We took an Uber from the Wynn. We bought just basic tickets for the museum. There were other choices, but we decided this would be enough for us. It was quite busy and lighting not the best. Some parts were more interesting than others, but the building is historical, and the exhibits were good. Lots of history of the city and famous people. We spent about 2 hours then walked to Fremont Street not far from the museum. It's a nice way to spend a couple of hours away from the strip.Written 24 November 2024
- bocam20200 contributionsInteresting MuseuInteresting museum in Vegas; has more in it than you'd expect. A nice way to do something besides casinos and shopping. Just too bad you have to pay for parking in an adjacent public parking lot. We did not pay extra to do any of the add-on exhibits.Written 7 November 2024
- en13kab0 contributionsLives Up to the Hype!I had heard good things about the Mob Museum for years, and now I know why! The exhibits are interesting and informational, and so well laid-out that it’s easy to spend two or three hours browsing without even realizing it. Don’t miss the original Saint Valentine's Day Massacre wall on the third floor, the video production inside the the historic courtroom on the second floor, and the amazing gift shop on the first floor. We’ll definitely be back to check out the speakeasy in the basement!Written 5 October 2024
- Voyage181867135820 contributionsVery Cool Museum - Needs an Audio Guide or InterpreterI had private access to the museum this week for a company event. We got to enjoy most of the museum and speakeasy alongside some light food/desserts and an open bar. I really enjoyed exploring the museum with a (theoretically) smaller crowd, but I expect my review should be taken with a grain of salt considering that my access was limited - I believe several exhibits were closed - and I didn’t have full access to the tour options available. My primary feedback is that the exhibits were very text-heavy, relying on placards with descriptions to go over each component of the photos and to set the predicate for videos and audio exhibits. I wish I had been able to use the audio guides, because I think it would have told the story of the museum better than the exhibits alone. The museum was full of very interactive components and cool photo opportunities. Even though I didn’t dress for the occasion, it was fun to pretend!Written 30 August 2024
- 179riu0 contributionsVisiting a speakeasy is a great experience. We followed a recommendation from someone, thinking nothing of it. I thought it was amazing, and I really like the interactive elements like the picture-taking feature and the exhibits. I also enjoyed how they featured more contemporary gangs and cartels.Written 14 August 2024
- campingdan0 contributionsWhen in Vegas, do this Museum.Had no idea what to expect but this tour was highly recommended by several locals so we went. What a great museum!Very interactive and informative. Learned not only about the Mob & Vegas but about the history of Mobs in American and how they got started. Great collection of artifacts from some of the most notorious gangsters. Many photos of murdered mob members and very graphic too. If you bring a young child, beware some the images are a bit disturbing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!Written 6 August 2024
- Tasters050 contributionsGreat Insight into Las Vegas Mob pastThe Mob Museum was fantastic, we're huge fans of all things 'Mob' and it was great to see the Mob history of Las Vegas - it was even more rememberable as we were able to meet and listen to Frank Calabrese Jr. during a talk he was doing on our visit. If your interested in the history of Las Vegas then you should defiantly visit.Written 4 August 2024
- HPW50 contributionsAmazing experience!Absolutely loved this museum. Kids - age 16 and 18 - also loved this! You start at the top and work your way down. There were often spots of stopping due to crowds - typically because they are all stuck behind one person who is insisting on reading everything. There is a lot to read and take in but I appreciate the thoroughness of the research. Poor guy dressed in mob suit stood outside in the 115 degree heat to greet us - he was committed! I have a criminal justice degree and I learned more from this museum than my two semesters in organized crime classes.Written 31 July 2024

- al-diana0 contributionsmust see....usually we don't like to go to a museum while on vacation but this is different--extremely well done with movies & great photos all around--they just re-did their gift shop with lots of new items--this visit they had a former mobster talking, trying to sell his book--only 2 blocks from fremont street & right across from the grand hotel....Written 27 May 2024
- Helsey4140 contributionsBrilliant museum - So glad we decided to visitWe pre booked our tickets (inc audio) whilst still in the UK. We booked the classic tour at a reduced price (start visit anytime between 9 - 11am). We spent approx 4hrs going around the 4 floors of exhibits which was really informative about Las Vegas and the mob in general over the years. Thankfully there was a great little cafe in the 2nd floor so we could recharge before continuing with our tour. The staff were really friendly and engaging and we were fortunate that on the day we visited, there was a fantastic talk by a gentleman (Frank Calabrese Jnr) who explained about his family's involvement with the mob. Highly recommend as great value for money 😀Written 20 May 2024
- 860bc0 contributionsWE KNOW ABOUT THE MOB NOW☆☆☆☆☆We did PREMIER tour. Included was FINGERPRINT TOUR and the DISTILLERY TOUR. BOTH WERE GREAT!!!! Everyone of the staff were outstanding!!!!!! Always smiling and HELPFUL!!!! Lots of directions so easy to get around. If you have questions JUST ASK, staff is super knowledgeable AND fun to talk to. TIP: We loved the DISTILLERY!!!!!!! If you don't drink don't do it. You get a real taste of moonshine....☆☆☆☆☆.Written 25 April 2024
- Fennec4160 contributionsA Killer TimeThis tour catered to 2 things we love: True Crime and Vegas History. A plethora of things to read with such fascinating information, and there are museum workers standing by, ready to answer all your questions. Along with the tour, we bought the Firearm Training Simulator. It was neat. No spoilers, be sure to give this a try if you feel like "playing cop" for a few minutes. There is also a speakeasy below the museum with a fun selection of tasty drinks.Written 3 April 2024

We did enjoy our visit to this museum, however the information overload you get made us skip the last floor in the visit. A lot of random facts on so many criminals that it’s hard to keep track of who did what and with whom.
We visited after 5pm so we each saved 10$ at that price it is well worth visiting.

First the bad stuff. $29.95 for general admission to what is a relatively small museum with minimal interactive exhibits?! By the way, this is more expensive than the Louvre, New York's Met and the Prado in Madrid! Way too expensive. And $7 to park your car in the museum lot?! Go ten feet further to the city lot and pay $1 per hour. This certainly leaves a bad taste in your mouth before you even step foot inside the museum.
Once inside it does get better. The museum does a decent job at tracing the history of the development of the mob in the U.S. There are some interesting artifacts, plenty of displays to read and some movies to watch. We did find that there was a decent amount of repetition and at times the information was not very well coordinated.
Is it worth visiting? Yes, if you're in Las Vegas for an extended period and want to get far away from the casinos. But it's not worth a detour particularly if you're staying on the strip.

There are really fascinating insights into early Las Vegas and the influence of gangsters on it...an interesting diversion from the strip. Worth a half day visit, for sure. It is possible to get there on public transit but the buses can get crowded and like every city you see all types of people. It is just not tourists who use it.

We bought tickets online the day before for an early Saturday admission - and loved it. We thought it was really well done and liked how there was order to the museum (start at the 3rd floor and work your way down). We only spent about 2 hrs there (9a-11a) but to see it all, recommend at least 3-4 hrs.
When we left at 11am, there was a huge line to get in, so also recommend going early if possible.
Well worth it!

We bought the basic admission ticket, ended up spending over 3 hrs going through the exhibits. Very interesting and informative. Learned alot about their influence beyond the typical cities that you'd associate with the word "mob".

One of the best things we did in vegas.
The mob museum is informative, we’ll rounded and goes deep enough into the history to really make you feel like you’ve learned some stuff about vegas.
It’s huge but every part of it is engaging and worthwhile and considering so many things in vegas cost a fortune and take 5 minutes - the entry fee was well worth it as we spent a good few hours immersed in the exhibits!

I really wanted to enjoy it but some factors took it down a few stars.
It was very crowded. It has low light in some portions with lots of pictures and reading small descriptions of the pictures that are low on the wall. Some rude people hovered around exhibits causing bottle necks. More interactive activities are more money of course.
It was nice seen original items like Al Capone’s revolver and the St Valentine’s massacre wall. I would have like to see more videos and interactive presentations. I also understand that the museum is in a former court house.
We had the go city pass that is turned into a armband that is good for the entire day with in and out privileges. They do have security and bags are checked. I don’t think any outside food or drink is allowed. Expect 2-3 hours total to get through all 3 floors of the museum.
I still recommend it but I would come just after open or before close for less crowds and to move through it more freely.

The Mob Museum is housed in the 3-storey old post office building in the downtown area of vegas.
It purports to be a comprehensive history of mob activity in the U.S. culminating in the mob control of vegas in the 60s and 70s (and the alleged removal of mob influence subsequently).
Whilst the displays use modern technologies and a lot of work has gone into the settings for the displays, we found the actual information fairly superficial and piecemeal. I had pretty high expectations, especially given the marketing that talks about how comprehensive it is, and especially given the $30 per person entry. Those expectations weren’t met.
We went at a time outside of school holidays, and in early spring, and even then, the rooms in the museum were crowded – one often had to wait to read the next display, and there was no pretence of social distancing. I’d hate to think how busy it gets in busy periods.
All in all, worth seeing if its really of interest, but not if its only really a passing interest.
It is set in a nice old building, and you do get to sit in the actual courtroom where mobsters were tried.

The museum is a short two blocks off of Fremont Street - The 3 floors cover the origin of the "Mob" in Italy through immigration to the Us and to current times. The story is not restricted to Las Vegas but is a central theme in the exhibits. There is a "speakeasy" in the basement that serves great food and alcoholic drinks as well as an opportunity to make your own moonshine!! Exhibits are educational as well as entertaining. Worth a visit and ticket is good all day so you can come and go if you like.

The Museum has a good array of way to feature this highly acclaimed history of key cities that were influenced by mob. Each floor is setup differently with interactive displays and videos with picture props through the exhibition. Worth visiting. Use alternate parking offering valet validation with dinning. Wish I know and saved the cost for parking at the museum.

Is it senior friendly who are in wheel chairs ? Also, are service dogs allowed ?

It is wheelchair accessible for sure. Some of the items to read are above standing eye level so depending on the quality of their vision it may be harder for someone in a wheelchair to see.

I don't think so.However, the Las Vegas Deuce Bus which runs very often goes very close to the Mob Museum. The Las Vegas Deuce Bus caters to Las Vegas Tourists. As for food,I liked the Prime Rib Special at Siegel's in the El Cortez Hotel close to the Fremont Experience..

We bought the "CSI" add on for an additional fee. We love crime shows so we were really looking forward to it. Another person stated it was "fascinating" and it was BUT there is a time limit that you can be in the room before the next group comes in and then you have to clear out. We felt rushed and tried to hurry up but we still didn't get to check everything out . They should double the amount of time in there. Thus, we felt it was a waste of time and didn't fully get to take it in and look at every station.

I'm interested in checking this place out during my visit in July (mid-week visit). I'd really like to check out the distillery, so I'm curious if the Deluxe Pass is the best route. Also, it looks like the museum opens at 9am. Is the distillery tour and tasting available during the day?

Is the museum on the city bus route? Can we take the bus to this location?
Written 18 June 2019
Not sure but we actually parked in a transportation parking lot as we missed the turn into the Mob museum parking lot. Just a few feet farther to walk to the entrance. However, in coming and going, we never saw any buses. Call the museum or look up a map of the city transportation system
