About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Traveler481860008500 contributionsArea 51 tourThe tour guide was kind, and the area 51 was wide and beyond expectations. As you are interested in Ailens, you should visit here for once in your life.Written 11 February 2025
- simonepuorto0 contributionsThe truth might not be out there. But the fun really is!If you’re in Vegas and craving a dose of alien intrigue, Adventure Photo Tours has you covered. Picture this: starting your day checking out the secret Janet Airlines (yes, the ones ferrying workers to Area 51), then tearing through the Joshua Tree Forest toward the legendary Extraterrestrial Highway. One pit stop at the Little A’le’ Inn for a (veggie) Alien Burger later, you’re standing next to the infamous Black (now green) Mailbox, where UFO enthusiasts gather to scan the skies at night. Then it’s on to the guarded gates of Area 51 itself—complete with “Camo Dudes” who watch you watching them. It’s surreal and a total rush. My favorite part? Our guide, Earl. His aviation background took the entire experience up a notch. He knows stuff—lots of stuff—making every tale about secret bases and UFO sightings sound that much more credible. If you want a quick escape from the Strip lights and a killer story to share, trust me: book this tour. The truth might not be out there. But the fun really is!Written 1 February 2025
- craigcZ6703NO0 contributionsZion National Park day trip from Las VegasWhile on holidays in Las Vegas we booked a tour to Zion National Park, with Adventure Photo Tours, they picked us up from our hotel along with 4 other customers, in a very comfortable small bus, and supplied snacks, water and lunch. The driver Christian was very friendly, knowledgeable and considerate. It was a 3hr drive to the park with a few stops for all to stretch their legs and use restrooms etc. The Zion National Park was absolutely amazing and Christian stopped at the best photo locations throughout the park, and we had an easy walk/hike of about 3 miles before lunch, the hike was along a stream on a paved path, and at your own pace. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip and I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys nature’s beauty.Written 1 February 2025
- JeniNaomi0 contributionsFantabulous! This trip was amazing! Michael was our guide and he is truly an asset to this company. He is such a wealth of knowledge; we learned so much about the geography of the area as well as how the mountains formed, geology and plant life. Along the way, we discussed Area 51, aliens and everything in between regarding theories and such. Once we got to the highlighted portions of the trip, Michael gave us a variety of suggested poses and proceeded to take dozens of photos of us; he even wanted to make sure we were happy with the pix before we moved on to the next location. We visited the Alien Research Center to get pix and to get souvenirs. This place was an experience all on its own. The Little A’le’Inn is a kitschy place but we adored it! So many photo ops. You “see” and hear about Area 51 on TV but visiting it in person was surreal. This was a bucket list item we can cross of our list although I wouldn’t mind doing this excursion again (as long as we get Michael as our guide!)Written 21 January 2025
- 985kaleenaw0 contributionsAn Amazing ExperienceKirk is an incredible guide. I joined my boyfriend for this tour not knowing much about area 51 or the stories surrounding it, and I came away with so much knowledge and a new interest! Kirk made every stop so fun and was kind enough to take some awesome pictures of us. We are laughing in every photo he took. Thank you Kirk!Written 8 January 2025
- larsval020 contributionsVegas day tripDay drive from Las Vegas (about 2 hours), Gas up before you leave Vegas. Minimal to no cell phone coverage unless in Pahrump or Furnace Creek Visitor Center. DO NOT USE the bathroom at the pull over station, where you can pay for park entrance (you will regret it. The smell made me gag, and I almost threw up. I was still gagging for about five minutes after I exited the bathroom. I’m a nurse and I’ve endured a lot of gross things over the years, but the smell coming from this bathroom has topped the list). Wait and use the bathrooms at the furnace creek visitors station. It was about noon when we arrived. We did sand dunes, which is 30 minutes out from furnace creek visitor center. Then we turned around and headed back towards the visitor center and did Devils golf course, bad water basin, artist’s pallet (The second parking lot is more colorful than the first) and then Zabriskie’s point. By that time it was 4:30 pm and the sun was setting so we did not have time to go up to Dante’s View. Everywhere that we stopped was easy walking access from the parking lot. We went in January and temperature was 65 degrees Fahrenheit. If I had to do anything different (other than the bathroom experience), I probably would’ve allotted for one to two more hours worth of time in the park!Written 2 January 2025

- 497grahams0 contributionsWorst Tour OperatorThe natural wonders which are their end point are incredible. Their service, horrible—company lives on duplicity. A 6 in 1 tour is actually a 3 in 1 if you choose the helicopter flight. Expect to be told you cannot participate in the Grand Canyon Skywalk if you spent the money for the helicopter segment. Explain that is not correct to the bus driver, and he tells you he will just strand you on site. Manage to get through that drama and he wants to dictate where photos are allowed (just your group, not everyone else)—says he is in charge. Most likely a colored bias. I called mid tour to talk to mgt, was told they would call me the next day. Of course they did not call. Choose ANY other operator rather than this one. I’m filing complaints at every opportunity and filing suit for false advertising just because they ruined my wife’s birthday gift.Written 27 December 2024

- 175samanthas0 contributionsDon't hesitate to Book - Amazing Day our in Area 51I came on this tour on Saturday 26th October, my 50th Birthday. Apologies Adventure Photo Tours I meant to write a review before but been so manic since got home. I just want to say that this Tour was a highlight of our trip to Vegas. We live in England, and I have always wanted to visit Area 51. I booked Vegas for my Birthday and made sure in February I was booked on this trip for my October Birthday. Patsy was great from start to finish. When I booked on the website, I emailed to check everything, and when we arrived in Vegas, and I called her she was fantastic in answering my questions and the plans for the day. We were staying in The Paris Hotel and was picked up by our tour guide Art. There was another tour on that same day to Area 51 and we were placed with another couple from England for ours who were great company. We were picked up on time by Art and I have never had a tour guide that has been so courteous, allowed us time to explore at the stops in our own time and not rush us. He was a true gentleman. I must admit to start, I was expecting from getting on the bus stories of conspiracy theories, Aliens etc. but Art did explain about the Geology of the area. I wasn’t into that, but my other half loved it. Although, at Rachel and talking to locals outside the café I got those conversations. I think it was hard for Art to hear us when we asked questions in the tour bus but that was not a problem as his lovely nature made up for this. He was constantly checking we were okay, had water on the bus, made sure we had plenty of stops, and was always telling us about the areas we were in, and once past the Exterritorial Highway gave us a lot of information about the area and the Black Box etc., and a joy to be with. We got to see Area 51 with a guide that was so patient with us exploring on all stops and was very knowledgeable. Also, he took photos for us on all stops- thanks Art you made our trip x Thank you, Art and Patsy, for making my 50th Birthday special. I highly recommend Adventure Photo Tours and if ever in Vegas again would book on another tour. Also, give Art a big hug from Dave and I for the wonderful memories he has created for us xWritten 29 November 2024

This is a great, safer way to see an amazing state park and some fascinating bits of history. Clayton, our guide, made sure that we were well supplied with water, sunscreen, electrolytes, and snacks, and checked in frequently to see how we were doing in the heat. He set expectations clearly about what we could and couldn’t do in this weather, told us an astounding number of facts, and kept conversation moving among a group who didn’t know each other, including some whose first language wasn’t English.
He’s thoughtful, professional, and fun to talk to— he will talk a lot and talk fast, but don’t be afraid to interrupt with a question or an issue or if you need him to slow down.
The lunch is from Subway but for those who aren’t fans it seems to be one of the better franchises- it’s fine. Call ahead if you have allergies and they’ll do what they can to adjust snacks for sure.
The tour is well planned in terms of restroom and food breaks, as well as planning around traffic dropping off on the Strip (to the extent possible)
The Lost City Museum and the park Visitors Center are clearly older in terms of the exhibits, but I see a lot of thought and care in what’s presented and while I am not an expert on Native representation by any means and the tone of the signage varies across the park and the museum, there does seem to be some work going into representing Native perspectives, and gift shop staff could point me to Native made crafts and understood why I was asking.
The rock formations are GORGEOUS. This was a welcome break after the overstimulation of attending a professional conference, and even though summer hiking is a bad plan for most of us, you’ll get some walking and scrambling up rocks in if you want to. If that is not within your range of mobility or heat tolerance, you’ll still see some stunning sights from in or near the vehicle. No guarantees on the fauna, but we were fortunate to see big horn sheep and vultures.

My best friend and I returned to Las Vegas this year to celebrate her retirement. We had been in 2019 also.
We booked this tour to see the fabled Valley of Fire and Lost City (Anasazi) and were delighted to find there were just 4 of us plus our guide Eli in the clean SUV for the 7 hour trip.
Eli picked us up at our resort, and along with a pair of twin sisters, we headed out on our adventure, complete with Subway sandwich meals, lots of snacks and bottled water available throughout the trip. It was a lovely clear day for sightseeing!
Eli was friendly, knowledgeable, and informative about the history and geology of the region as we traveled. There was a good mix of driving time, hiking time, and break times. We were all very comfortable.
This was a great alternative to bigger bus tours, much more personalized. We had input into where and when to spend time, within reason, and keep on his schedule.

We did a private tour of Valley of Fire state park, and our guide Clayton was absolutely first class! He is so generous with his time, and is very knowledgeable and humorous and definitely eager to share these with all of us. Plus Donna and Will, who run Adventure Photo Tours, were so helpful and accommodating, we were looked after so well!

The suv ride was cooler & more spacious than the other tours wed taken previously;& the guide was very knowledgeable about all the plants& history of the Indians as well as vegas itself. It was like having a historian & botanist onboard who served you delicious subway sandwiches & had the cost included w/ hotel pickups & activity entrance fees that other organizations promised but actually did not.
The Indian museum’s cacti garden was MUCH more scenic to stop & eat at& our guide gave us plenty of time at each stop🤗

I took the Valley of Fire Tour on November 25th with
The tour guide was Paul and he was a wealth of information. He was patient, knowledgeable and provided a ton of insightful details about plants and wildlife that live in the park. Pllus he had a great sense of humour.
This was my first time in a desert environment and I was impressed with the setting and photo opportunities.
If i am ever back in the Las Vegas area, I will definitely take another tour with Adventure Photo Tours and ask for Paul.
The only disappointment was the Lost City Museum was closed for American Thanksgiving.

My friend and I went to Las Vegas to see the Rolling Stones and took this trip on our extra day there. Clayton was our guide and he did a wonderful job of showing us so many special spots in the Valley of Fire. We hiked, took pictures, learned about the history of the park and the territory, and enjoyed a great day in beautiful weather.

Marcus picked us up promptly at 7:30 at our hotel in a very nice Ford Expedition. We made two more quick stops for additional guests and headed out of Vegas. With only the five of us, we had plenty of room to stretch out. Marcus began sharing information about our day at the park as well as some Las Vegas history. We arrived at the park in about an hour and were simply in awe of the beauty of this place. Marcus worked his way to various scenic stops where we got out and took all the photos that we wanted. He offered water and snacks throughout the trip. Lunch was delicious sandwiches at a picnic table at the Seven Sisters rock formation. We finished the trip at the Lost City Museum which is staffed by very friendly folks. A truly magical way to spend our last day of vacation.

What wonderful views! The tour was good, but if I had to do again, I would have looked for one that just went to the valley of Fire as I would have liked to have had more time there to view and explore. The museum was ok, but I think we could have gotten as much from the visitor’s center.
Even though we were not staying on the strip, they still
picked us up at our hotel. Lunch was a basic sandwich and chips, which was good. Planned bathroom stops along the way. The minimum number didn’t make, so we paid a bit more so we could go.
Our guide was informative to a degree, but I was more interested in the landscape than the houses being built. He did point out some of the more interesting and unique formations- it was fun to see what shapes you could find.
Although we didn’t feel rushed, it would have been helpful to have had some general guidelines for time along the way. Maybe make one or two longer to allow for some exploration of the area. The views are so amazing, and the rock formations are incredible!! Overall it was a fantastic day and we’d do it again!!

Hi, and thank you for the review. You are quite correct, the Valley of Fire is so spectacular you could spend days there and never be bored. Although, we tried to design this tour so the folks can have a great days outing and still be back in Vegas early enough to go lounge at the pool, go to dinner and then a show. Everyone loves to do it all in Las Vegas and this tour helps to facilitate the goal. Please join us again and so glad you enjoyed Nevada's best kept secret.

I took the Valley of Fire tour. The tour was great. Lunch, water and snacks were included. The tour entered one end of the park and we did some exploring. We exited from the other side of the park. When we exited our last stop was the Lost City Museum. Our guide was Marcus. He was very professional and explained everything and ample time was given at the stops. A suggestion do not wear sandals or open toed shoes. The reason is sometimes you are walking in sand.

Do you do pick ups from locations other than hotels in Vegas? We are renting a house nearby; just 5 minutes from the strip. If not where would we catch the van?

Best to check in with Adventure Tours. They may be able to find a solution for you. You'll enjoy the trip!

How much walking is there, and is it difficult? I am an 'older' 'desk jockey' not in the best shape. but love to travel and love natural wonders. Traveling in January.

Do you get to see the fire wave rock formation on this tour ?
Written 11 November 2018
Hi,
The fire wave rock is at the end of a short trail and virtually all of the tours do not do this to my knowledge as most tours just have brief walks and photo stops not hikes. If you booked a private tour then you could do the hike ( take water with you and avoid the hottest months.

It is an hour or so of beautiful driving to get there. You can take as long as you want while there (we took about two hours). Then the trip back to Vegas. A nice 6 hour day for sure.
BTW - take water and a lunch.....no restaurants are available.
