About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- danmF2308PN0 contributionsIncredible Zebra Slot Canyon tour with ReganMy wife and I just concluded a spectacular Zebra Slot tour. We had seen online photos, but the experience exceeded expectations. Regan was great; we couldn't be more pleased. He was punctual, personable and very knowledgeable as to the history, geology and plant life of the area. He helped us with technique (and a boost) through the tightest stretch of the canyon (We are 68 and 69 olds who exercise daily). We chatted about a variety of topics all morning. A fine young man and a great tour guide. The hike in was easy and the canyon truly spectacular. 5*+. Highly recommend.Written 15 May 2024
- christyj9880 contributionsAn amazing experience!Wow! Such an awesome experience! I booked last minute but, I dont think it could have been better. It was super easy to book and communication was thorough. Our guide, Regan was full of knowledge and an exceptional young man. He went over and beyond to insure everyone enjoyed their experience in the slots. We also got to see extra things not initially included in the tour, and we were able to take our time to enjoy our surroundings which was really nice. Our guide came prepared with provided waters as well. Roam is a top notch adventure Co. and I'd recommend using then to anyone!Written 8 May 2024
- tannch190 contributionsAmazing Zebra Slot Canyon TrekROAM guide Neil was exceptional in guiding us to and through Zebra Slot Canyon. We highly recommend this experience! Challenging, at times, to traverse the water and squeeze through the tight canyon walls, but well worth the effort! The canyon’s striated colors are amazingly beautiful, an awesome adventure!!Written 5 May 2024
- amylmojo567890 contributionsGreat tour with ReganRegan told me that there was deep (chest high) water in Zebra canyon so he offered Tunnel Canyon as an alternative (thigh high water) and I chose that. We had a great hike and tour through the canyon narrows, and great conversation. Many thanks to this tour company for offering me a solo tour, it is very much appreciated.Written 8 April 2024
- D7919VZgabrielr0 contributionsZebra slot canyon tourOur 3-person group had a fantastic time exploring Zebra canyon with Regan. He is confident, accommodating, and knowledgeable which ultimately lead us to taking a cold plunge! Yes, there was water in the canyon and it was chilly but the view at the end was absolutely worth it! Regan shared with us facts about local flora and fauna, as well as the region’s history. Will be definitely looking for his services in the future when we visit UT again!Written 3 April 2024
- 767debraz0 contributionsComing back for more! After a fabulous tour going through Dry Fork, Spooky and Peek-a-boo the previous day we booked another tour with ROAM with Regan as our guide again to Zebra Canyon. The hike through the desert was beautiful. Regan did a great job telling about the land and plants. Leaving our packs at the mouth of the slot canyon, Regan took our phone and took many photos and videos or us as we waded into the waters of the canyon. There were some tight squeezes and a little maneuvering that Regan got us through. We would have never explored this canyon without a guide. It was great knowing that someone knew what was up ahead! Great for even beginner hikers at any age!Written 26 March 2024
- mtn_dude_brutus0 contributionsBest photos by far!Nothing beats exploring a new slot canyon..especially when it’s gorgeous like this one. Neal made sure we knew what we were getting into beforehand and helped us squeeze through and wade through to the best view of the canyon.Written 9 October 2023

ROAM did a great job of making sure I had everything I needed. Neal is a freaking legend of a guide and everyone would be lucky to enjoy this hike with him.Written 9 October 2023
- Aaron B0 contributionsROAM with Jerron! These guys really know their stuff! Jerron and Neal went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed for our Escalante adventure. After spending the day traversing the vast canyon landscapes, Jerron offered us one of ROAM’s Jeep rentals to top off our trip with an off-road adventure. Thank You ROAM for an excellent Escalante experience!Written 25 September 2023

This was an amazing hike (5.5 miles) through 3 slot canyons, and Regan was the best tour guide ever! I could not have made it through Peekaboo and Spooky without his help and guidance. (I am 68 & qq.in good shape.) I have been planning my Slot Canyon trip for over a year, and Upper & Lower Antelope Canyon were amazing, but you walk slowly through with 90 other tourists. Thus was a completely different experience: there were only 4 of us (hikers) on this tour with Regan.
It was well worth the price, and I tipped Regan 3 or 4 times more than I had originally intended because he was such an amazing tour leader.

Great hike with a great guide. Neal is from the area and new exactly how to take the slot canyons. Also was very encouraging at difficult parts of the slots and knew exactly how to go up and down with foot positioning. Worth every penny to have a guide visiting these three slots, especially when we encountered a rattle snake at the entrance to one of the slots.

My wife and I did the “Trio of Canyons” guided tour with Neal today (ROAM - Escalante) - and it was the bomb!!!! The scenery/lighting/photos were off the chart, the tour was challenging at times but doable (I am 72), and Neal without a doubt was one of the finest guides we have ever worked with! He is extremely knowledgeable of the Escalante region (3rd generation), most helpful, qualified… And perhaps best of all, entertaining and ton of fun to work with!!! If you are coming to Escalante, ROAM and Neal are definitely who you want to work with!!!

My husband and I (ages 50 and 49) were looking for something different after visiting three of the National Parks and came across this slot canyon tour. We decided that Halloween would be a good time to visit slot canyons named Spooky and Peekaboo. Our tour guide, Neal, didn’t disappoint with the Halloween theme as he wore a Pirates of the Caribbean wig! Needless to say, we had an absolute blast! We had never done a slot canyon tour before and I was a little nervous as I get claustrophobic in tight spaces. That wasn’t an issue for me. We were definitely in some tight spaces, but only for a few seconds and Neal did an excellent job of showing us how to navigate the “obstacles” within each slot canyon. My husband and I both agreed that we could not have done this on our own. We took the afternoon tour (2:00-6:30) and pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. I can’t imagine going through those canyons with tons of other people in there. We ended up hiking a little over 6 miles from the parking lot to the slot canyons and back. Neal was so easy to talk to and he took pictures for us while in the canyons. If you’re looking for a little adventure to break up your visit to the NPs, then this is the tour for you.

The absolute best tour company. ROAM really cares about its customers. Their prices are amazing considering the service they provide.
I took a tour of Escalante's famous slot canyons with ROAM. I am not an ordinary hiker. I am 82 years old with a history of severe asthma, a real challenge considering slot canyons can be stressful for anyone. Quarters are tight, and gyration are required to get past obstacles. My tour guide let my body do things I thought were impossible to overcome every obstacle. He had studied the techniques and could transfer that knowledge. He guided my feet and hands to the spots that would enable me to scramble safely. He gave me confidence. He loves this fascinating land, its plants and animals. He loves his job and the people he guides. A rare young man. Get this, he found a lizard that had fallen into the slot and carried it to safety, all the way to the end of the canyon. He had stories and descriptions about plants and animals.
I cannot heap enough praise on ROAM and everybody there. They helped this old man achieve a dream. They were kind, patient considerate and informative.

The Trio of Canyons tour was a highlight of our Utah trip! The canyons were breathtaking, and it was a great adventure through the slot sized spaces! Neil was our guide and he was fabulous and well educated on the area! He helped us (adult and two teens) expertly navigate the tight canyons with some fun climbing. He took amazing pictures of our adventures as well - he was a 10/10! Would definitely recommend this tour if you're looking for some slot canyons and tight, beautiful spaces!

Our hike thru the Dry Fork, Peekaboo and Spooky slot canyons were the HIGHLIGHT of our Mighty Five trip thru Utah. Our guide, Regan, was outstanding! His knowledge of the geology and history of the region was an added bonus to the beauty of the landscape. On top of that Regan was endlessly encouraging as we made our way thru challenging terrain always ready with a strong arm to pull us up, patient instruction on where to put our hands and feet to maneuver the tricky parts and good humor to keep us going. I would highly recommend ROAM-Escalante and tour guide Regan for a “bucket list” experience thru the amazing slot canyons of Escalante!

Highly recommend this guided tour through the grand staircase slots if you are at apprehensive about venturing through by yourself. Our guide was fantastic and even helped lost hikers on our way in, which he says happens all the time. The tour took around 5.5 hours start to finish and was worth it. Trust me, this guide trip is worth it!

What a fantastic experience. Regan was our guide. The ride out to the start point was a crazy bumpy dirt road, Regan gave us some of the history and geology of the Grand Staircase on the ride out and we all got to know each other a little better as well. The walk out to the canyons were gradual downhill, and some more conversation about the geology and natural history of the area. The canyons were amazing and Regan was very upbeat and excited to lead us through our first experience doing this. In Dry Fork, along the way he showed us some techniques to use when navigating various types of terrain in the canyons. Peekaboo was our first challenge, but Regan was very encouraging. There was some low level water along the way, but Regan was very adaptable to the situation as we navigated our way up the canyon. He was very enthusiastic, and put confidence was boosted as we moved along. It was challenging, in a good way, and so much fun. Spooky was also a great experience, and Regan once again was so encouraging along the way. I cannot overstate how much fun this was. You will not regret doing this.

My 69 year old husband and I (62) had a tour with Regan. It was FANTASTIC! We were the only two on the tour. Regan was knowledgeable about the various rock formation and plants. More so, he was an incredibly personable guide. He demonstrated how to get over some challenging rock formations in the slot canyons and then came back to help me maneuver them. We would have never done the canyons without a guide! I would highly recommend this tour to even beginner hikers!
