Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The guide was phenomenal! He was knowledgeable, articulate, and occasionally, humorous and animated! Having grown up in Tampa he was able to add his own experiences to the rich Tampa history. The tour was just the right duration, never hurried or not interesting. We will definitely consider more tours like this.

We live in Lakewood Ranch (just south of Tampa), but decided to be tourists in our own city. We loved the history of Tampa tour with Elizabeth. She was very warm and knowledgeable and had some fun stories to share. We also discovered some new places we want to go back and see. Highly recommend for both tourists and locals if you want to learn some of the history of our area.

As a Tampa native, it is nice to see the interest in our great city.
Very informative based on the history of Tampa. Our guide Elizabeth, did a great job of creating a visual of past events, that, will hopefully encourage more people to learn our history from humble beginnings to now! Take a tour learn some history!

This is a great tour. I was particularly interested in the Woolworth's on Franklin Street where the sit-ins of 1960 took place, leading to the desegregation of lunch counters all over Tampa. (My play on the subject - "When the Righteous Triumph" - opens at Stageworks downtown on March 17). I was also fascinated by the stories of those great blues and jazz artists who performed in Tampa, and by the tales of the Tampa Theatre from its inception at the start of the talkie era in movies, to its various transformations up to the present. I hadn't known about the bolita system in Tampa, and the criminal subculture that kept it going for years, and I was impressed with the guide's mention of the Native Americans like Osceola who figured prominently in our Florida history.
The walk was easy and comfortable. Highly recommended!

Dustin was knowledgeable about Tampa, especially the building history. I’d love to have more information about the entire history of the city and its vibrancy now - biggest industry, etc. Weather was lovely - he gave a great restaurant recommendation for dio - Modern Mediterranean!

My favorite part of the Downtown Tampa Historic Tour
Was learning of the historical significance of the Tampa theatre. The restoration and preservation of this building is a crowning jewel in Tampa History.
Also learning of the bravery and integrity of those young African Americans who stood up for their rights with peaceful sit-ins at the lunch counter of what was then the downtown Woolworth store.
As a musician, I was also delighted to see the memorial man-hole cover that relives that golden jazz and blues era by depicting the fabulous jazz artists that visited and delighted Tampa residents with their music.

This walking tour was average. I was the only one on the tour which was somewhat awkward. Elizabeth was friendly & knowledgeable about Tampa history. She did struggle with names of individuals during her story telling. It lasted 60 minutes and was a casual pace.

Hello,
I apologize for the awkwardness of the 1 person tour. We offer them to anyone who would like to book, and sometimes that means just one ticket is sold. Come back again at a discounted rate and we will make sure you have a fantastic time. Give us the chance to make it right and I assure you it will be done.

I had a great time learning about the history of Downtown Tampa from our tour guide Elizabeth! The tour was informative and entertaining, filled with stories making it feel like a blast from the past. From the Tocobaga tribe to the mysteries of who killed JFK, Tampa has a rich history. I'm happy to have gone on this tour. 10/10 recommend. Thank you, Elizabeth.

This great walking tour is a must do when in Tampa! Our guide Elizabeth was very knowledgeable and excited to share all the interesting history of downtown Tampa. We had a great time learning so much about this beautiful city. Again, Elizabeth took extra time to answer questions from the group; she was fantastic!
