3-Hour Manatee Swim and Paddle Tour in Crystal River
From USD 78.44
See West Indian manatees in their native environment on this 3-hour tour in Crystal River, a town on Florida's Gulf Coast. With a guide, you'll explore Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge by kayak or stand-up paddleboard, and you'll have the chance to snorkel to see the manatees in the waters of Kings Bay. Wetsuits, equipment, and beverages are provided.
What to Expect
Make your own way to the tour meeting point in Crystal River to begin your manatee experience in the early morning. After transfer by shuttle boat to Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, you'll meet your captain-guide and hop aboard your kayak or stand-up paddleboard.

Paddle around the waters of Kings Bay, taking in the natural scenery and watching for manatees and other native wildlife. When you wish, you can put on your provided snorkeling gear and hop in the water for a swim. You are also free to stay on top of the water at all times, if you prefer. Learn about the ecosystem from your guide, who also takes photos of your tour both above and below the water.

Your tour ends with return to the starting point, where a high-resolution disc of photos is available to purchase, if you wish (own expense).

Note: Make sure to bring your own towel and a plastic bag to keep your belongings dry. It is recommended that you wear your swimsuit under your clothes to save time at the start of the tour. A wetsuit is provided to put on over your swimsuit.

Great experience, great staff.

We traveled from Clearwater to Crystal River while on vacation. While the manatees were not in the cove, the guide and captain were realistic and upfront about what to expect, how to handle being near manatees etc. Crystal was great with all of us on...More

This was my second visit, our first, 3 years ago, being outstanding. This time the weather was a little warmer and the manatees were few and far between. They had left for the Gulf. Mike did find a mum and her calf, but a boat...More

My husband, mother, and I had a great Paddle and Swim morning tour with Captain Tanner and guide, Irish Dave. Our arrival at the shop was organized and efficient, we were quickly briefed on manatee manners and given a well fitted wetsuit. They have plenty...More

Book with these folks

Having been on wildlife trips before, and knowing what can be expected, these folks went well above and beyond for not only us, but for the sake of the manatees, which is far more important than us. John and JJ were knowledgeable, personable, and in...More

No Manatees

I spent almost $70 per person to snorkel with the Manatees. Winter is supposed to be the best time to see them which is why we went in January. Because of the warm weather the manatees went back out to the gulf so we were...More

You can go by yourself but you will be on a boat with others. I recommend the earliest time. You will have less people and more guide interaction.
