Ride through the Santa Cruz redwood forests aboard a steam locomotive on this alternative sightseeing tour, a great choice for travelers with limited time. Guarantee access to the popular and often sold-out Roaring Camp Steam Train by booking in advance, and personalize your itinerary by choosing from a range of departure times.

What to Expect

Find your way to the Roaring Camp Steam train's departure point in the town of Felton. Make your way through the recreation of an historic town and exchange your voucher for a ticket on the train ride you have chosen. Booking this ticket ahead of time guarantees your spot and your choice of departure time; rides often sell out, especially in the summer.

Sit down on the open train and enjoy the scenery as the train chugs through the redwood forest. Listen to your conductor's commentary, which will fill you in on the history of the area and the train system in California. You'll learn that the train itself dates back to the 1800s and is one of the country's best preserved narrow-guage steam engines.

When you reach Bear Mountain's summit, hop out to stretch your legs and explore the nearby Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park.

Return to Roaring Camp at the end of your ride, which takes about an hour.

I'm not sure, you would have to contact them. I myself wouldn't as it is a long trip with only one 15 minute stop for a break.
