Half-Day Napa Valley Bike + Wine Tour

    What to Expect
Make your own way to Yountville to meet your guide, then get outfitted with your bike and helmet. After a safety briefing and orientation, set off with your guide to the first of the two wineries of the day.

At each winery, your guide introduces you to your tasting room host, who leads a guided tasting of the flight of wines. Learn about the wine-making philosophies and practices of each winery during your tasting, which generally lasts about an hour.

Expect to bike for about three to five miles (five to 8km) to the first winery, a similar distance to the second winery, and another few miles to return at the end of your ride. Longer sections of the route include stops to soak in the scenery, take photos, and hear interesting facts about vineyards and local history from your guide.

Return to your starting point in Yountville to conclude your tour in the early afternoon.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. You bike at a leisurely pace and the roads are flat so it's pretty easy. Our tour guide was great and let us take off and pedal ahead of the group on the Silverado Trail. We went to 2 different wineries, Cliff Lede and Andretti as in "Mario".

I’m a cyclist who likes wine (or a wino who likes cycling) either way I booked this excursion as soon as we booked our holiday, that’s how excited I was. I wasn’t disappointed. Everything was great - friendly and knowledgeable staff, decent bikes and a lazy ride with wine.

I was with 3 other women for a friends trip- one of us is a marathoner, the other 3 of us are novices. We all did well on the bike ride and loved the scenery. Mike was our guide, and he was awesome! He was knowledgeable and accommodating. We stopped at 2 wineries, both of which

I like easy and this was easy. Sign up, give your height (for bike sizing), show up and go. My wife and I signed up and we were in a group with 10 great people. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The wineries we visited treated us well. We were never rushed and had a

There was nothing special about this tour. It was simply a bike ride with a tour guide who didn't give explanations for anything whatsoever. We paid $200 USD for 2 persons and had to pay $130 USD extra for the wine tastings, as none are included, yet you are expected to take

We are so sorry to hear your tour experience fell short of your expectations. It appears you booked your experience directly through Viator and unfortunately, we do find that the booking interface is rather limiting when it comes to communicating all of our various options and services (compared to our website). In this case, it does seem that you would have been much better suited to bike rentals, which are ideal for visitors comfortable following a map and aided by our advice and recommendations. Tasting fees are never included upfront in our tours 1) because fees vary and we visit different wineries all the time and 2) individual guest’s fees may be waived with minimum purchase at the wineries. Many visitors to Napa Valley are surprised to learn that local regulations prohibit wineries for selling or serving any food and that wineries must have a permit to allow picnicking. Our description of the Half-Day Tour explains this and the email confirmation goes further to advise guests to be sure to have a good breakfast (solid advice for any day of wine tasting) because no food is served other than a sports nutrition bar/snack and the tour concludes ~2-2:30pm. The route you rode included about 5-6 miles in a designated Class II bike lane on busier roadways — including one mile on Hwy 29 — and 5-6 miles on less trafficked roads (also in a Class II bike lane). Our email confirmation discusses what the mix of roadways and riding infrastructure is like on our tours and encourages guests to call us to discuss options if they have any concern. From our shop location in Yountville, we have access to a car-free bike path, the Napa Valley Vine Trail. On many days, our tour routes are tethered to this path but it’s also a great option for bike rental users charting their own course. Our sincere regrets that you weren’t directed to the best experience for your day of biking in Napa Valley! We will be combing through our listings and email confirmations on Viator to see where we might be able to make improvements, as we do care about setting the right expectations for our guests and feel terrible when we miss the mark, as we clearly did for you.
