      Half day in LA
A half-day tour in Los Angeles is a whirlwind of experiences—glamour, culture, art, and nature all rolled into one. While it’s impossible to see everything in such a short time, the tour gave me a taste of LA’s essence. It’s a city that thrives on contrasts, where dreams are born, and every corner tells a story. I left with a heart full of memories and a promise to return for more. 🌴✨

A great fun day and tour
Chad was a very informative and fun guide. We were unlucky enough to do the tour on a rare rainy day in LA, but we still thoroughly enjoyed our day. The rain stopped and the sun came out at a perfect time, when we were at the Griffith observatory giving us great views over LA. A great day, cheers Chad!

      Definitely worth doing.
The first tour was a 5.5 hour tour stopping at a number of locations (Santa Monica Pier, farmers market, Griffin Observatory) which gave a good oversight of the LA area. The driver was very entertaining. The second tour was the celebrity homes/Beverly Hills tour. Due to Brian’s insider knowledge of the industry, it led to a very entertaining and interesting tour of the celebrities history and the histories of the homes in the area. Only thing letting the tours down was that it was a little cold but apart from that they were very enjoyable.

      Excellent guide, great route
CHAD rocked! Traveling solo for work and had a great time. Felt comfortable with the tour size and the locations. I will warn you, my tour was after the palisade fires so less people in general were out. I felt the stop times were adequate and enough to explore the areas. Definitely recommend.

I had an amazing experience on the Hollywood Bus Tour! Our guide was not only super knowledgeable about LA’s landmarks and celebrity homes, but he also kept the tour fun and engaging with plenty of humor and local stories. We got up close to the Hollywood Sign and even spotted a few celebrity hotspots on the Sunset Strip. The open-air bus was comfortable, and we had fantastic photo ops throughout the trip, especially around the Walk of Fame and Beverly Hills. I’d recommend this tour to anyone wanting a great overview of Hollywood with a guide who genuinely loves the city. Worth every penny!

We had an incredible time on the Hollywood Sightseeing and Celebrity Homes Tour by Open Air Bus, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing guide, Brian! He was not only knowledgeable but also engaging and funny, which made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. Brian shared fascinating facts about Hollywood's history and celebrity homes while keeping the mood light and entertaining. His enthusiasm for the city was contagious, and we left feeling like we truly got an insider’s view of LA. The open-air bus provided fantastic views, and Brian's storytelling brought each stop to life. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Brian as your guide!

My husband and I love visiting LA every year and we love doing "touristy" things and a Hollywood tour is always on our agenda! We do a different tour each time and I must say we thoroughly enjoyed this one! To get tickets, we went through Trip Advisor and it was a very seemless process that was a plus! When we got to the tour center they were ready for us!
Our guide was named Mark and I say be sure to not forget to tip him! He took his job seriously and showed us homes we had not seen on other tours! His favorite line was " look at me family, I'm going to show you something!" And if it wasn't a star's home it was a star's car! Lol! Not sure who owned the cars but between all the Maybach's , the Porsche, Bentley's , he pointed out all of them to us and let the guests know the prices! 😁True, we don't see many of those in Missouri but hey we are from the "Show Me State" so the cars were fun to see! So Mark was an all around knowledgeable tour guide!
We did the 2 hour tour, it was brisk that morning so check the weather before booking and bring proper jackets , etc...or buy a sweatshirt like I did at the tour center! It worked and made the open bus tour bearable weather-wise ! Our bus was full but we all got along and Mark remembered where each of us were from so that was a plus!
I suggest the tour for couples, families, children and all! It was a very nice time, 2 hours well spent!
Hope you and your family take the tour sometime when you're in LA!
    We will ...again next time!!

Left later than scheduled and arrived back sooner than scheduled. Stopped for a restroom break so way shorter than described. The driver was very personable and pointed out some great celebrity homes but on the list of things we would see was the Hollywood Sign which was never even pointed out. After return went in to complain and were told it did go by the sign??? Never told to look and never saw. If there would be a next time I would not schedule in advance. Once there many along the street trying to get your business and discounting the price so would be cheaper to shop when there. Overpriced for the experience in our opinion.

Hi JWolfe, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We use all feedback to shape future experiences. Wow I’m sorry to hear your experience didn’t go as planned. You should have gotten your full tour time even if you departed late. Additionally our tour route gets views of the Hollywood Sign from The Hollywood Hills. I am not sure how you weren’t able to see the sign? I would like the opportunity to make this right with you and hear more about your experience. If you wouldn’t mine reaching out to me directly at chris@hollywoodbustoursla.com or 415-716-4864 I would appreciate it. Look forward to hearing from you!

Never had such a rude customer experience! First he took off before I even had my baby buckled in. I thought ok maybe he just didn’t know. But then we slow roll past a quick glimpse of the Hollywood sign which from online I was expecting to be able to get a picture of. 3 people asked if we were going to be able to get pictures and be ignored them so I asked a lil louder and he says no there’s nowhere to stop that’s not included. Then why was everybody on the bus expecting it and then he quickly cuts me off mid sentence and says so anyway. Everybody just looked at each other shocked at his rudeness and there we were 5 mins in vibe killed.
We did see some cool views but nothing we couldn’t have drove and saw ourselves. The Hollywood sign was a huge part of us going and I know it’s a lie because there is a viewpoint that I went to on a different tour which was overall sooo much better but I can’t remember which one it was. But they gave us so much more history and closer look at houses.
And then on top of that they take you to the Beverly Hills sign and drop you off in the park for 15 mins. The tour was already less than 2 hours and we spend 15 mins of it looking at one sign. Probably more once we unloaded and loaded.
Then at the end a couple people still tried to tip him and he insulted the amount and didn’t take it. They wanted $10-15 per person and I’m sorry but we didn’t have that on our last day of vacation with 7 people on top of the $300 we paid for a tour we regretted taking. To a person who was rude. Then somebody asked where the bathroom was and he obviously ignored him and when he asked him again nicely still, he snapped over there. This was as I was asking the lady if there was a different tour that showed the Hollywood sign cause we were under the impression we were going to see it she starts walking away from me as she’s like no I never told you that and didn’t even entertain a 5 second conversation with me. I’m so upset that we spent that much money on something that I don’t have a good memory from. If your booking a tour I suggest another one.
And I’m a top google reviewer and have never left a one star review. But this was exceptionally bad.

Absolutely terrible. Visited the ticket office on Saturday with my family and asked about the tour and told to book online. Booked online for the following day which included a $5 charge for 0-2 years old. Walked half an hour to get to the tour, walked in and the receptionist asked where our car seat was. At no point during the visit to the office on the Sunday or when I booked online did it mention I needed my own car seat. When you get on a bus you don’t need a car seat. If you did, they’d provide one. If they know you need one and are booking for an infant why wouldn’t it tell you. I have done dozens of tours around the world and never needed to bring my own car seat. The lady would not allow my child to travel without a car seat, provide a car seat or let us move the booking to the following hour to give us chance to go get our own. She was so dismissive and rude. My mum then pointed out they had a perfectly good car seat in the ticket office with the booster seats and asked why couldn’t we use that. She then reluctantly agreed, but then showed me the FAQ on the website which says car seats by law are required….she failed to show me the bit which says they have a limited supply…..so they do have car seats available! No other families were on the tour so why didn’t she just let us use it in the first place. Then, despite us been the first to arrive she tried to seat us (a family of 5) as a 3 and a 1 and then a 1 in the front because she said some couples might want to sit together (who were late and hadn’t even arrived yet). Honestly just ruined a nice day out for us the whole experience. Would definitely avoid this company.

Thank you for your review! We use all feedback to shape future experiences, so we appreciate the honesty! We do clearly state on our website that due to California Law, infants and toddlers need to be in a car seat. It’s stated in our info section and the FAQs section (with further explanation of CA law). For that reason, we do have car seats and boosters available for the duration of the tour, free of charge. At check-in, we were trying to explain that you needed a newborn/infant car seat and all we had on hand were toddler sized and booster seats. But either way, we made it work and got you all on the tour! Regarding how your tickets were purchased, it’s strange that someone on staff would send you to the website to purchase tickets as they work on commission. This definitely does not sound like a true Hollywood Bus Tour experience, do you remember the name of the agent you spoke with? I’d love to chat about this some more. You can reach out to me directly at (415) 716-4864, or chris@hollywoodbustoursla.com. Looking forward to chatting with you!

Absolute rubbish! Our tour guide was awful, he mostly just pointed out expensive cars that drive past. The homes they say are celebrity’s houses is made up and inaccurate.
And lasted less than 2 hours. I was very disappointed and had a better experience getting an Uber! Don’t waste your money!

The Hollywood Sightseeing and Celebrity Homes Tour by Open Air Bus was a fun and informative way to see the iconic spots in Hollywood! The guide was knowledgeable and pointed out tons of famous locations, from classic landmarks to celebrity homes. The open-air bus made it easy to enjoy the views and get great photos. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it felt a bit short and could have included more stops. Still, it’s a great option for anyone wanting a quick, entertaining overview of Hollywood!

The tour is a great way to see the sights! I can’t give the tour 5 stars because of the drivers conduct. On the slope of a steep hill, our driver purposely jumped the curb and parked us on the side of a steep incline (no guide rails or fencing). It was very unsettling. He also provided commentary (including damaging/controversial rumors) that were definitely not G rated.
This tour included many of the great sights and I would have given it 5 stars if it weren’t for the actions of our driver.

Charlie was our tour guide and he was great - really friendly and knowledgeable. Took my teen girls and mom with me in a tour - it was a "staycation" as we live in LA and always saw these busses going around and thought it would be fun to see our city from a tourist perspective. We saw a lot of places that we normally pass by and didn't recognize them before as famous film and TV locations. Took the 2 hour tour and it was just the right length for us.
