    Incredibly beautiful
Easy, excellent way to see the coastline and learn about the history of the area. Super easy to follow the guidance. The view along the way is spectacular.

A great experience even on a cloudy day
We loved the ability to travel at our own pace, skip some of the stops and catch the tour up to where we wanted to spend time. The narration was pleasant and informative, the technology only took a moment to figure out and the history of the area really enhanced our drive down to Big Sur. My only complaint is I couldn’t figure out how to change the measurements to miles from kilometers.

Great tour, well worth the money
The tour and associated app was much better than I expected. It gave you ample time to turn off the road to see the sights and the information about the sites was extremely interesting.

April in Paris is amazing! The best tour company we've ever experienced.
Eight of us who had been to Paris a number of times were led on this tour by the extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic April. We saw places and learned interesting things about parts of Paris we had never seen before.

    Very good self-guided tour
Excellent self guided tour of Cannery Row area. The tour was easy to follow. Recommend reading book before the self tour - will add a lot of insight and value into characters, locations.

    Helpful tips and trivia
This was a cool little audio tour. We enjoyed driving down the coast and having fun facts pointed out along the way. It was especially useful to have tips on where to stop and take short hikes. My dad, his girlfriend and I all enjoyed the tour.

    Not what we expected
I think the idea behind this is great, and my husband and I were looking forward to doing this driving tour through Monterey. Unfortunately, we were under the impression that the map would show up on our navigation so we would get directions on the screen as to where it would be going, Unfortunately, this was not the case. We had to follow the map on the cell phone app while driving. This caused lots of u-turns and arguments and we actually stopped the tour. This may have been operator error, I’m not sure. I would perhaps update the description to indicate that it does not operate through the car’s nav system. Before we ended up canceling the tour, we did learn about a super cool new beach, so will download the transcript and map it out ourselves before we go down to Monterey again. This way we can take the tour and have the directions ready to go. Again, I love the idea here but was expecting something else. If this is operator error please advise how to set this up properly. Thanks!

    Never could figure it out
I couldn’t get it to work. I spent about an hour downloading stuff and trying to find the starting point etc. When we finally found the starting point the narrative did not fit our surroundings. We tried for another 30 minutes and finally gave up. Granted I may be challenged with technical stuff so others might find this to be easier.

    Lots of fun 🤩
Truly loved the audio auto tour. Make sure to go through the tour before you start driving it, a few of the geo tags are slightly out of place and you want to make sure to be in the right hand lane mostly for all the times you will pop off the freeway. Enjoy, We Did!

I just felt it was long winded and the audio didn't always go off so struggled with getting the right segment with the location. great more frustrating than enjoying.

terrible. We had to cut through the trip.
There was so much closures in our route. The routes needs to be refreshed and reviewed. The two stars was for the audio and when you hit the mark, it does speaks and narrates on point.

Only worked about half the time
I guess Carmel is just too hard to keep the audio tour on track. We kept getting lost, not knowing where to turn, and got off the course. We ended up only hearing about half. We have used Audio Tours in our car in other areas, which worked great. It may be the closeness of each road in Carmel.

This was a quick, fun, out of the “norm” experience. The directions were very clear and easy to follow with a lot of fun info at each stop. Depending on how quickly you’re moving you will get through this between 30 min-1 hour. Make sure that you purchase and download the app and your tour with a WiFi signal, before you go. I made the mistake of trying to do this while we were eating lunch beforehand, no WiFi and it took a very long time (until I finally got connected to a WiFi signal) and drained my battery in the process. Also, there are some hills along the way, for those that may have a more difficult time with an uphill walk.

We spent a fair amount of time walking the streets of this very cute little town from the main town center to the beach a number of blocks away. Some of the buildings were quite unusual and whimsical and we enjoyed the walk which we did. We looked at home prices along the way, and decided we could not afford the millions of dollars that some of the homes were selling for! But wow! To live in such a nice area would truly be a dream come true for many people!

I was Not able to download the audio tour , it took forever to download so, I shared my son’s earphone so we can start the tour rather than waiting for it finish downloading. We’re kinda hesitant to go closer to the houses since we’re not sure if it’s ok, coz it seems it’s a private property. I was also disappointed since the house that I like to take picture with is the Hansel and Gretel one, which is underconstruction and was Not able to take picture with. I guess it’s nice to update the tourists of the changes so we can decide and maybe take another tour instead.

This did not work. It's not worth it. You don't have to pay you can just drive by the houses. They made us pay 7 dollars each for the audio and the audio didn't even work. We spent 1 hour and a half looking for the houses they are just regular houses and they aren't even together definitely do not recommend.

What a fantastic tour! When it asked me to download an app, I was skeptical. "Great, yet another app to bloat up my phone." But it was ABSOLUTELY worth it. Such a cool piece of tech. Ideal to use wireless headphones. My wife and I each shared one earbud. We started at the start point, and it used GPS to track us as we walked, so I was able to keep my phone in my pocket and we were guided through the tour without any issues, and the guide not only shares about the history of the houses, but also directs you as you walk, and tells you where to look/what to look out for. Very cool!

You can do your own walking tour. We didn’t since some of my friends cannot do a lot of walking. When I’m traveling on my own, walking tour and a hop on/hop off bus is the first on my list. It’s one way to get yourself oriented in a new place. So in this trip to Carmel, my friends and I searched for the houses throughout our week long stay. The map for the story book cottages is available at the visitors center. Once you have the map, you can see where they are are and plan on when you can explore a certain area to see them. A few of them are located in the business area and the center of town. You can also have tea or breakfast in one of the cottages. Carmel is explored better by walking. And you can find a lot of interesting restaurants and establishment plus locals who are friendly and willing to spend time talking to you on your daily jaunt.

Such a great tour. Wonderful for those who are interested in architecture and the history of Monterey cottages. It was worth the $6/person charge, and I'd love to take my family on the tour. The terrain can be "hilly" so I would wear comfortable shoes. It was so great to grab a hot drink and trek through the neighborhood!

This walking tour covers a small area of Carmel with the “Fairy Tale cottages” it is a bit short but interesting nonetheless. You will learn some interesting facts about Carmel and the cute cottages on the tour. I wish it covered more of Carmel!

The tour was very nice. I liked that you could wander off track and upon returning the tour picked up right where it left off. It said a 30 minute tour but taking it slowly we enjoyed it for an hour and a half. Luckily we didn't ride our bikes. We would never have made it pushing them up the hills.

The audio tour was easy to follow with just the right amount of information...3 minutes or less per house. Walking this beautiful area and seeing historic homes was well worth the time, less than an hour. Being able to walk uphill and down is a requirement! Wear good walking shoes!
