About
Lemosho is considered the most beautiful route on Kilimanjaro and grants panoramic vistas on various sides of the mountain. It is our favorite route because it offers a great balance of low traffic, scenic views and a high summit success rate. Thus, Lemosho is highly recommended.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- K911FRlauraf0 contributionsGreat animals and service. This trip was definitely worth the long journey! My family and I got to see and learn a lot about multiple different animals thanks to our guide Estomih. There is great service and every place you stay is very nice. Going on this trip definitely made me want to go back again to see the other parts of the migration.Written 11 January 2025
- Freedom609511589880 contributionsOnce-in-a-lifetime experienceWere in the park from 9h to 15h. Had the best guide you can wish for. Innocent speaks perfect English (besides Swahili and Chagga) and knows literally everything about the flora & fauna in the park, as well as the history of the region. Picnic lunch with local home-cooked food which we picked up on our way from Arusha to Tarangire (2h30 jeep ride!) Had lunch surrounded by vervet monkeys who are in no way aggressive but very mischievous (they like stealing bananas). Giraffes, elephants, the sweet dwarf mungoose who live on top of termite hills, waterbucks, warthogs, zebras (outside the park), the superb starling, ostriches, guinea fowl, white-faced whistling duck, blue monkey, baboons AND we were so lucky to see lions (twice!) Unforgettable experience! A special thank you to our friendly and very patient guide Innocent who afterwards helped us find a great place to buy Maasai art. Would repeat it anytime!Written 11 January 2025
- O6491QQethans0 contributions10/10 Experience - Would recommend to anyone visiting ArushaThe waterfall was stunning, the coffee tour was very interesting, and spending time at the hot springs was so relaxing. Couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide - Balthazar was super friendly, informative, and fun!Written 11 January 2025
- Mauranne G0 contributionsTransformative ! I couple times I had to pinch myself to realize this is real ! The experience exceeded my expectationsThis experience was breath taking and transformative. From the beginning - zipper pick up to drop off to our hotel ! Our guide Saïd took such good care of us ! He was so well rounded and answered all the questions we had ! He knew so many fun facts about all the animals which helped learn a lot . In addition our operator Filbert was so Patient and helpful with everything and anything we needed to make this experience smooth and enjoyable . We needed help figuring out how to get there and we went above and beyond to help with flights and accommodations in Arusha ! We can never thank him enough and his team’, without them this would not have been possible and so beautiful! I recommend this booking to everyone ! Only thing to know is that flights to Arusha or killimnjaro is not included. I thought this was not explicit enough on the trip advisor website for first timers :) Overall 10/10 experience !Written 11 January 2025
- C8503NZjamiem0 contributionsBeautiful falls, coffee farm, and hot springsWe had the BEST time on this tour! We did this after a safari and it was so peaceful and fun to walk through a path with a different climate than we saw the previous days. The waterfall was gorgeous. The coffee farm tour was so unique and the staff did a great job of immersing us into every step of the process. Their energy, dancing, and singing was the highlight of this tour! The hot springs were so beautiful, shady, and fun to swim through the connecting areas. Our guide, Baltazary, was so knowledgeable and gave us plenty of new information from the various trees and fruit to the culture and history of Tanzania. Highly recommend him as your guide! He was very fun and accommodating.Written 10 January 2025

We visited incredible places like Tarangire, Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and the foothills of Kilimanjaro—each one unique in its beauty. However, what truly made this trip special was our guide, Christian. Christian is not only an outstanding professional but also a cheerful, passionate person with contagious energy. He made sure we didn’t miss a thing: from the iconic animals to the small details that make all the difference. He explained everything clearly and enthusiastically, making every stop on the safari even more enriching. Thanks to him, we not only saw Tanzania’s incredible wildlife but also learned a lot about its culture and nature. Christian turned this trip into more than just a safari—it was a complete, magical experience full of unforgettable moments. His warm and friendly attitude meant we came home not only with incredible memories but also with a new friend. - Lifestravelfun0 contributionsPhenomenal safari thanks to Abdul!!!Our safari was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish! Abdul was the friendliest, kindest, most knowledgeable guide that we could have hoped for and it was a pleasure to share our experience with him and learn from such an interesting man! We did the Northern Serengeti, Central Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire as well as an additional hot air balloon at the start. Everything was superbly organised prior to the trip through Happiness who was excellent at communicating with us and guiding us through the booking process. I spent lots of time deciding between safari companies and found Happiness to be the best person to speak to! This included organising flights from Zanzibar and back and facilitating secure payment for the safari. The transport was great, every night's accommodation was luxurious and a pleasure to stay in, and the food throughout the trip was brilliant too. Our safari experience was expertly led by Abdul who showed us so many wonderful animals, geographical features and taught us so much else about Tanzania. We comfortably saw the big five but were not pressured into chasing these and Abdul was patient if we wanted to stay watching certain animals for longer. There was not a single negative to our entire experience and we are incredibly grateful to Abdul, Happiness and Safari Soles for making it such an unforgettable trip! Asante Sana Abdul! Could not recommend highly enough! AWritten 8 January 2025
- 448marinan0 contributionsMarvelous life experienceThis journey was the one I promised to my nephew when he was a little kid, now he is 25 and we finally made it. Everything has been beyond my expectations: the landscapes, the wild animals, the lodging, the food and the people:-) Starting with our excellent guide Simon, nicknamed Safari Monster, and by myself renamed SuperSimon:-) He din't rest until we saw all the possible animals and the the BigFive, but non only this, our trip went smoothly with no car problems unlike many other people we met and helped with their flat tires, broken cars or cars get stuck in the mud... Also he knew anything we asked about the animals wildlife and Tanzania culture and traditions. I would recommend Simon and Safari Soles to anybody wanting to experience a safari in Tanzania, and also the formula 7 days great migration is perfect because you can see really millions of animals (wildbeast, zebras, antilope, gazelle, etc) migrating from a Serengeti section to another, and you have enough time to visit different parks, each one with its particularities in wild life and landscape, like Tarangire, Serengeti and the Ngoro Ngoro crater, a real paradise:-) All the lodging were excellent and especially the Lions' Paw was amazing for the view of the Ngoro Ngoro crater. Thanks a lot to Safari Soles and SuperSimon for this wonderful and unique life experience:-)Written 7 January 2025
- G9943QZmelaniew0 contributionsAn adventure that was better each day!My dad and I did a 7-day Tanzania Wildlife Safari with Safari Soles and it was the best experience we've ever had, which managed to top itself each day! The overall experience was great, Abdul our guide was fantastic and the nature we saw was outstanding! I initally contacted Safari Soles several months out and recieved a quote from Laurent. He was very patient and answered all my queries as well as followed me up (which is always appreciated when work starts to take over!). On our arrival to JRO we were transported t our accommodation outside Arusha, this is also where we would end the trip. The next morning we met our guide Abdul who was with us for the next 5 days. Abdul took us to 4 national parks: Tarangire, Central Seregeti, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater. Not only did he have the best eyesight, being able to spot animals we struggled to see with binocular's, Adbul patiently and comprehensively answered all our questions, safely transported us, taught us swahili and overall gave us an experience better than we could have dreamed. By the end of the 2nd day we had seen 4 of the big 5, by the final day we'd seen the big 5 and had multiple close up encounters with lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras and much more. Our final day we went to Kikuletwa Hot Springs before heading to the airport and it was very relaxing. Note that the schedule saying that there is a morning / afternoon game drive, there isn't downtime. Our trip was jam-packed on the road the wholetime which was exactly what we wanted. Most of the accommodation was very good, some seemed to be bit on the outskirts, but we were always well looked after, felt safe, had clean rooms and given brilliant meals. Where we stayed in Central Serengeti was truly wonderful. This was a spectacular safari and we're already trying to work out how soon we can come back.Written 7 January 2025

- amichellea120 contributionsBucket List Trip! A MUSTGreat time! We got to experience the Big 5 and learned so much about Tanzania! Our guide was beyond knowledgeable, and he knew exactly where to go and when we'd see the most wildlife, almost like he had a 6th sense. The accommodations were comfortable and the food was interesting! We had an amazing time! Two things to be aware of: -The roads are VERY bumpy (locals call the drive "an African massage"), so if you have back problems, a safari might not be for you -There are very few bathroom-break opportunities (you'll be in a Land Cruiser for 6-8 hrs per day), so limit beverages if possibleWritten 6 January 2025

My friends and I completed a 7 day hike on Mount Kilimanjaro going up on Lemosho route and descent through Mweka.
Each of the trekking day was different and had varied memories. Mount Kilimanjaro itself is grandeur and Lemosho route is definitely very scenic, more than we had anticipated.
The key to a successful ascent of Mt Kilimanjaro is to take it laid-back during the first days and ensuring that you acclimatize to the altitude before attempting the final hike to the summit. Upon hitting Uhuru Peak, it is quite a sense of great achievement standing on top the mountain. It is for sure a an amazing experience watching the sun rise over the African skies and with amazing views.
We used the service of Safari Soles Tours directly and Bryson made all the arrangements for us. Everything was delivered as planned and at reasonable cost. Our guide was an excellent choice and an expert in helping out alongside the team of porters and cook.
The
cook and porters were all very good and well organized, the food was good, warm and plentiful with fresh fruits. Everything was on time and the guide adjusted hiking tempo to our abilities and frequent photo stops. He knew well what he was doing. The hike itself, landscape and nature, is of course exceptional.
Without the help of our guide, we wouldn’t have succeeded in reaching the summit. Bryson was an excellent planner and made all efforts in providing all the information we needed beforehand. Everything was as per the details provided and trust me that they know the mountain very well, providing you with the right info and the potential problems and solutions.

The hike to Kilimanjaro with the Safari Soles crew was simply incredible! I chose the Lemosho route and completed it in 6 days. Everything was perfectly prepared! My guide Emanuel Mkumbo looked after my wellbeing and safety, pushed me in challenging situations, listened to my needs and we had a lot of fun and good stories to tell! The cook, Vino, prepared the best meals and Isa always checked that I had everything I needed. Part of my things were carefully transported by the porters and the whole team was sharing happiness once I returned safety from the peak! I can definitely recommend Safari Sole and my crew!

So my name is Inês, I’m from Portugal. Me and my boyfriend Pedro just arrived from a 7 days Lemosho route, in Kilimanjaro that turned into a 6 days route because we have this amazing team with us. We were super lucky with the Safari Soles team that we had, they were all great, super experienced with Kilimanjaro and they all did so much for us, it’s literally impossible to do it without them. But we would like to make a special thanks to our guide, which is the best guide EVER. Our guide was William, one of the nicest person we have ever met. Really kind human being, funny and he was looking for us the entire time, helping us, motivating us to get to our goal, he was a really rafiki (friend, in Tanzanian language). It was the most incredible experience we had in our lifes, is hard, but it’s amazing when you reach the top. So a huuuuge asante sana (thank you so much) to Safari Soles and to William and ALL his team for helping us reach our goal.

It's a lifetime experience to do Kili and to succeed thanks to a team that help us fulfilling this. Thanks to Bryson for making it so easy for us, for both, Kilimanjaro and Safaris. Thanks also to Franky (best guide ever) and all his team that were so kind and so generous, always the smile on their faces. Lemosho route is wonderful, each day is different with a lot of sceneries and views.
We recommend them 1000%.

My husband and I spent two weeks in mainland Tanzania with Safari Soles (first, climbing Kilimanjaro and then on safari in the Serengeti) and we confidently concluded that we had found that this was the best company operating in Tanzania.
The company is run by Bryson, who is a young local Tanzanian. All of Bryson's employees spoke incredibly highly of him and his professionalism, describing him as a man who never cuts corners. This was exactly accurate with our impression of him. In the lead up to the trip and during, he was always available, friendly, impressively efficient and easy to communicate with, and patiently answered every one of my questions. He organised exactly the trip we wanted - the activities, perfect dates, to our budget, etc.
First, we spent 8 days taking the Lemosho route up Kilimanjaro with Gasto (guide), Justin (assistant guide) and their team of porters. The group knew each other very well, since many of them have worked together for ten years, and their cohesion was evident. They felt like a family and we were made to feel very much a part of that family. Every person we passed on the mountain seemed to know and would greet Gasto, evidencing how respected he is as a guide and also how experienced he is. When he became a guide ten years ago, he was the youngest guide on the mountain. He knows every leaf, every symptom of altitude sickness, every corner of Kilimanjaro. Within a day, he had sussed out our strengths and weaknesses and would tailor our daily schedules to reflect this. The porters always got us the best spots in the campsites, everyone on the team was flawlessly professional and punctual, the food was excellent, the kit we borrowed top quality and the friendliness of the team was wonderful. Making it to the summit was amazing but we will cherish the memory of every member of our team who we spent those 8 days with as much as getting to the top of Africa!
Next, we spent four days on a camping safari in central and northern Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater, with Isaack (guide) and Dennis (chef). They were a fantastic pair who also seemed to know every other guide or ranger we passed! Dennis was a magician, cooking up the most delicious meals in such basic conditions. My jaw dropped when he brought us fantastic freshly baked bread for dinner! Dennis could absolutely be working for a top restaurant in Arusha. Isaack was super friendly and endlessly knowledgeable about the parks and animals, and managed to not only show us a heap of different animals but some amazing scenes - like a lion and hyena showdown over a killed buffalo! The Safari Soles guides have a great relationship with each other so, since there were two different SS jeeps in the Serengeti at the same time, Isaack and the other guide often worked together, giving each other tips on what they'd found that day etc. So you benefit from the eyes of not just your guide but their other fantastic guides too!
It was really important for us to book with a Tanzanian company, not an international one. This was a once-in-a-lifetime trip for us that we'd saved for and we wanted the money we spent to go entirely to Tanzania and the local people. Bryson has gathered a team of the very best guides, porters, chefs in Tanzania. You can't go wrong by booking with him and I am confident that, like us, you'll be grateful every day of your trip for finding Safari Soles!

WoW ! I just climbed the Kilimanjaro. It was a breathtaking and life lasting experience !
I am a quite experienced hiker but realized very quickly I could have never done it without excellent mountain guides. I highly advise you to choose your guides well !
I highly recommend our head guide William +255 762 665 619
He knows Kilimanjaro like his pocket. He is very kind and did everything possible to get us to the summit to make our dreams come true ! He carried our bags when we were too exhausted, helped us and closely watched us on difficult passages, briefed and motivated us daily and finally pushed us safely to the summit. A huge thank you to him !
I also highly recommend our assistant guide Bervine +255 766 563 529
He is a graduated botanist and takes time to explain to you many plants and animals. What an amazing chance to have had this storytelling botanist with us ! He also was very kind and pushed us to the summit. A huge thank you to him !
I am also very happy because I am reassured that our porters were well paid which is often not the case if you book cheap packages. This was very important to me.
Please also consider safety as cheap companies do not carry oxygen tanks which can be life saving. It is therefore very dangerous to climb without.

I am also very happy because I am reassured that our porters were well paid which is often not the case if you book cheap packages. This was very important to me.
Please also consider safety as cheap companies do not carry oxygen tanks which can be life saving. It is therefore very dangerous to climb without.
