      Meteora sightseeing at it's best.
Meteora trip, boutique travel experience. This company provided good communication and were very punctual. The guide, ( George) in English, gave the group very good commentary throughout the tour. He was also very mindful of everybodies health and well being after each hike up and down all the stairs throughout all the monasteries. The bus driver should also be commended for his quality driving skills negotiating through large volumes of traffic making us all feel safe. Thank you for such a great experience.

      Stunning scenery and history
Our guide George was very helpful and informative. The tour itself was well run and we had plenty of time to explore the 3 monasteries we visited, we also stopped a few times at different scenic areas and landmarks. Seeing the churches at each monastery was difficult as the lines were incredibly long, but that is not the fault of the tour operators, simply an indication of how busy it gets. Even without seeing inside each church, the tour was well worth it with stunning scenery and time to explore the grounds of each monastery we visited.

A long day, but a memorable experience
We confirmed beforehand that we could find our way to the train station where the tour departs from. As it was, the metro was quiet at that time of morning and we found the bus without issue - all the tours to Meteora are using buses at present as the train line has been closed since about Aug 2023. We were told that the new highway had only recently opened, taking an hour of the travel time - as it was, it took from just before 8am to about 10:30pm to get there and back, around 8 & 1/2 hours of which was getting there and back. The bus trip there was uneventful, with a break around half way (both directions) at an OK roadside cafe used by travellers. Once we arrived in the Meteora area we were broken into smaller groups of around 9-10, taken for lunch and then off with a mini-bus and guide who took us around the sites, explained some of the history and gave advice. We had paid to have the included lunch - this was a wise option as the lunch was prior to normal lunch times in Greece and we may have struggled getting in to the few cafes/tavernas open at that time. Local guide and driver were excellent. A long day, but we had good weather with fine views so thoroughly enjoyed this world-class site.

Great tour with friendly guide. The tour in itself was fantastic. 3 out 6 Monasteries visited with some stops at stunning views.

      Must do!
The Meteora sunset tour was perfect with plenty of time for all parts of the program. Our guide Nicolas provided extensive information about the sights, was caring but not pushy. The alternative part, the hiking, was certainly a plus. George, our fantastic driver, supplemented the program with all kinds of interesting facts about the area. He drove very quietly so you could fully enjoy the route and the surroundings.

      Full-Day Meteora with Greek lunch
We were taken from Larissa station to Meteora by coach and had a wonderful tour there. In Meteora we first had lunch and then we continued to the monasteries by mini bus. Our friendly guide enthusiastically talked about the monasteries and the history of Meteora. We visited three monasteries and had a beautiful day.

      Challenging but 100% worth it!
Our guide was amazing, he was very knowledgeable about the caves, monasteries, and history of Meteora. He was also checking on all of the hikers to make sure they were doing ok and if we needed to take breaks. This hike was not a walk in the park, there are some steep rocky areas you have to traverse, loose gravel and dirt, a lot of areas of steep uphill trails, but it is worth the muscle fatigue and huffing and puffing! The views are amazing and the history and knowledge that is provided makes it the perfect activity to do other than going to the Monasteries. Make sure to bring water and good walking/hiking shoes.

      Must-do daytrip from Athens
Came for the views and was not dissapointed. Breathtaking scenery and monasteries, lovely guide Maria, great driver, small comfy bus, delicious greek lunch and great company of travellers made this trip truly memorable. Even a heavy rain on our arrival to the last monastery did not manage to ruin the experience. Highly recommended.

      A must-do adventure!
This entire experience was incredible! From scheduling—they were so accommodating—and they took care of everything! Detailed instructions were easy to follow. The boutique hotel in Kalambaka was excellent! The tour guides were so knowledgeable, friendly, and interesting. The tour van was clean and comfortable, very well maintained. Meteora is a must see for sure, but going with MeteoraTrip makes it even better!

      Great Tour Guide
The guide gave us lots of information about the hermitages, the hidden monasteries and the Byzantine church. We visited St Stephen’s monastery which was very full of visitors. The sunset was lovely.

      Amazing experience
Amazing experience. The organization was great since the tickets send by email to the itinerary explanation. Tours and guides were great on the explanations given. The hotel was fine. A little old for a 4 stars but the room had great views of the mountains. I stayed at kalambak but i believe saying at kastraki would have been even better as it is smaller and more beautiful. I truly recommend this trip.

This trip was excellent. The views show a fantastic panorama over a landscape that was formed millions years ago. The guide knew a lot to tell about the history of the area and the monasteries. I think I will go back one time and then do a 2-day trip to see the sunset and/or sunrise which must be spectacular.

We travelled as a family of 4 from Athens to Kalambaka where we were picked up in a luxury vehicle by Vasillis from Meteora Trip.

This tour is a great way to see the famous and amazing Meteora region in just a few hours. Vasillis was an excellent tour guide, he was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us lots of interesting information and photo opportunities as we drove between the sites. Even though it’s a long day with the train travel from Athens it is unmissable and definitely a highlight. The lunch was also very good. Highly recommend this tour! Thank you Vasillis :)

The tour was great. We had the opportunity to learn the history of Meteora and its monasteries as well as to listen to some interesting stories about the area. We also had plenty of time to visit three monasteries and take some pictures of the wonderful view. The tour guide was great and very friendly and the bus driver was very careful, a really good driver. Thank you for the experience!

We hopped on the Journey from Tsikeli Hotel Meteora and had most wonderful time with our small group in bus. Guides voice and tempo was like an listening to fairytale of the monasteries and past and present residents in them. Views from monasteries and from the sightseeing points(love rock especially) were breathtaking!

All Game of Thrones fans will have their special moment on this tour also!

The tour was great, it is short but you know that when you book it and we see everything that need to be seen in that amount of time.
The guide Maria was extremely nice and explain everything clearly and also with fun.
Great experience if you only have little time to visit the area.

We had a great time with Maria. We had our whole family of 12 for the trip. The driver and guide took real good care of 84-year-old dad while the rest of us hiked to the monasteries.

You will need to be able to do a lot of stairs to get up to the three monasteries. Not terrible taxing, but you’ll know you e done something.

Such a fascinating area. Their bus was comfortable and water was provided. Maria was very cheerful and told us a lot about the place.

The meeting spot was easy to find and if you are driving there’s plenty of parking. If you’re coming off the train, it’s right there. No wasted time.

Very happy overall. The guide was very informative and the meal at the end was delicious. Visited 3 monasteries and stop to see the others and take photographs. Would recommend. Only criticism, not being warned of how difficult the entrance to the first two monasteries would be for someone older and unfit.
