- chI5130YH0 contributionsHorseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon tour.I did the Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon tour. Grant was our tour guide and he was great at explaining in detail everything we saw from Flagstaff to the tour sites. I thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent views at Horseshoe Bend and especially loved the majestic caverns at Antelope Canyon. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to be blown away by the beauty these tours have to offer.Written 24 October 2021

- SandraS1010 contributionsNot as expectedWe were expecting a free wheeling Jeep experience but actually got a rather tame, overly cooled, van that took us over a bumpy road that jostled us to the bank of a small portion of the Colorado River. The van dropped us a mile-and-a-half from the river, so instead of a hike around the mountain, we walked down the road. The driver was very pleasant but difficult to understand, our Subway lunch was fine, and there was plenty of water provided along with damp neck towels. The taped music interspersed with historic information and stories relative to the historic Route 66 towns and canyons we passed was nice, and of course, the mountain scenery was breathtaking, as expected.Written 1 August 2019

One grandson said it was the best time at a beach he'd had in a long time. Beautiful views were enjoyed by all. The history of the area was great. The driver called us the morning of to make sure we were still available and we appreciated it. Our driver stopped along the road for us to get great pictures and to tell us a little more about the area. When we reached the bottom we had a chance to swim in the VERY cold water. Our two boys were with us and they had an amazing time. It's a great experience and if you can't hike to the bottom or water raft....this is the next best thing!Written 14 July 2018

The driver made the 2-hour descent more interesting with comments on the area’s history and geology. The first sight of the magnificent Colorado River felt like a magic discovery. - Laura D0 contributionsAmazing way to see the Canyon!!!!!We have 2 young adult sons and one 15 yr old we took on this trip. This was our first time to see the Canyon & it was AMAZING!!! Our guide Chris got to our hotel early, the van was comfortable and he was kind to make sure we had all we needed for a comfortable ride. We had plenty of space and the windows are large to allow you to sit back and take pics or take in all the views as you let them drive you in. I did not want to blink afraid I would miss something! It's was absolutely breath taking. It's so cool to see all the different textures and layers of the inside of the Canyon. When you get to the bottom lunch is light & simple. It's all you need. Honestly. It's hit. You will not want gourmet food. This is not the time. Our food was organized and clean and cold water unlimited. It's the views you will want. The Colorado river was a perfect place to cool off dipping in from the Canyon heat. The ride back out was just as beautiful. Every turn is a different view. It's a trip I would do a million times over.Written 26 July 2017

Spending the day with our driver, a local named Cat, was great. She gave us so many interesting facts that we might not otherwise have had, stopped places of interest, and made us laugh with some of the crazy stories she had to tell. Sitting on the banks of the Colorado River more than satisfied my curiosity about river. Makes me want to do a rafting trip.

It was a long day, but there was plenty to see. Our driver was well versed in local history, flora/fauna, and answered any questions. Even on a cool day, it was HOT down there, so the AC in the van was welcome. We did the short hike option and it was great. Lunch was good, and we felt like we had enough time to splash around, take photos, and eat. Facilities are a port-a-pottie. The Hualapai convenience store is a stop both directions. Fun stops along the way. The tour is mostly narrated via recording on the way in, and partially on the way out. That was a little cheesy, but it was packed with info. With a traveler not able to do a true canyon trail, this gave us a different view and allowed us into the river.

From the moment we met our guide, Chris, he gave us a warm welcome and set the tone for a day of adventure. The Grand Canyon van tour down to the Colorado River was nothing short of spectacular, and the cherry on top was the audio during the drive. It included music, a unique outlaw cowboy story, and other details about the area. Chris provided outstanding customer service. We had lunch at the river, and Chris had towels to wet in the water for cooling off due to the temperature difference at the bottom. We got our feet wet and marveled at the beautiful scenery. The actual drive was extremely bumpy due to driving on a rocky path the whole way down. But it was so worth it!

On the spur the moment my husband and I decided to visit the Grand Canyon. Now I’ve heard about taking mules to the bottom of the canyon, not much of a rider so that wasn’t of interest to me. After searching around to see if anyone still had space for the coming weekend I discovered Grand Canyon custom tours. As we had decided to stay in Williams Arizona a charming town to jump off to the Grand Canyon, they would pick us up right there in town and we spent the day on a magical journey driving through the canyon via an Indian reservation finally arriving at the Colorado river.
The coach was amazingly comfortable even on the rough roads and we had a chance to hike a portion of the trail. I can unequivocably recommend this tour group for a fantastic Canyon experience

We had a great time! Thank you especially to our tour guide Catherine. She was very friendly, entertaining and knowledgeable.
We met up in Williams and travelled along historic Route 66 to Peach Springs at the Hualapai Reservation. I usually hate riding/driving in a car, but the scenery is breathtaking the whole way. There is a 19 mi. Ride into and out of the Grand Canyon, and yes it is bumpy but it is a canyon road. We decided to hike the last mile to the river and really enjoyed that too. If you decide to hike there are little streams to cross and the road was mushy in places, but please don’t let that deter you. Do wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting wet and maybe a little muddy. When we arrived at the river lunch was provided, and there is a spot to swim and cool off. On the way back to Williams we made a stop in Seligman on Route 66 for ice cream at Delgadillo’s Snow Cap Drive-In. A really charming town with lots of character(s) (pun intended). Fun to find out Peach Springs and Seligman were part of the inspiration for the Pixar movie, Cars. Thank you for the wonderful time! My whole family highly recommends this tour! Ages 40, 37, 20, 12.

My family and I had a wonderful day. Kat our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the views during the drive and loved viewing the canyon from the bottom. When we reached the bottom we explored a little, had lunch and were able to swim. The ride is bumpy and requires a full day. My kids, who are teens, enjoyed it and they are hard to please. Highly recommend if you have a full day, do not mind a long drive and want a different adventure!

We took the train ride from Williams to the Grand Canyon. We bought the coach seats. Train left Williams at 9:30 a.m. arrived at the Grand Canyon at 11:45. It was the perfect day! The crew on the train were so professional, helpful and delightful! Maryellen was our hostess in our cart. She was very knowledgeable and so helpful with any questions we had once we arrived at the Grand Canyon. They have a food cart that served snacks, sandwiches and spirits. The train back to Williams left at 3:30 arrived at Williams at 5:45 p.m. This is the second time we took the train ride. Definitely enjoyed it!

We took our 5 kids on this tour and they loved it! After hiking the rim trail the previous day, it was so neat to be able to swim in the Colorado River inside the canyon. With children we would not be able to hike to the bottom, so this was a unique opportunity for them. They didn't mind the drive at all, and enjoyed the narration and stops along Route 66. Chris was our driver and he was so kind and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed conversing with him at the bottom. I highly recommend this day trip!

Getting there from Williams if over an hour, then when you turn to get to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, you drive on a dirt road for almost two hours with a lot of jolting. When arrive at the "bottom," it doesn't feel like you are at the bottom, just feels like you are at a nice stream. If you didn't have to travel so much to get to the bottom, it might be okay. But definitely not worth the cost or the time, its expensive and it takes an entire day and you are where they call the bottom, for only one hour.

Sorry it was not what you expected. It was however what it was supposed to be. The trip from Williams is the same travel time as it is to the top. Nothing is really close to each other here. The exceptions that you forgot to mention for all of our viewers is #1 we give a very detailed and interesting tour of historic Rt 66 along the way that everyone seem to really enjoy, sorry you did not. 2nd, there is no paved road to get to the bottom, if there were I would be out of business, #3 Have you ever been to the bottom? I promise you it looked the way it should. You are in the Inner gorge once arriving, the bottom of the bottom and your line of sight does not allow you to see the massive canyon walls that are mile out and thousands of feet high. However the canyon walls getting higher as you go lower puts it all in perspective, sorry you missed that. And last and certainly not least, never call the mighty Colorado River a stream, its just degrading. If air conditioned comfort to the bottom isn't right for you, may I suggest next time try the Mules, and again I'm sorry this tour wasn't right for you!

The folks were nice enough to call me the day before to make sure I understood what the tour was, they don't take you to the rim where most tourists go, we have been there before. I wanted to go to bottom of the Canyon without hiking. This is the only way to drive in, the drive/ride is not for the faint of heart, it is off roading to say the least. The last 15-20 minutes they let you walk down.
The view of the Colorado river is awesome.
Remember it is 6 hours of driving out of 8 hour tour, we are used to it so was not a big deal, understandably they don't want bad reviews from people who cannot handle this.
Great job bu Chris our guide.

Kamal, Thank you for your input. I would like to clarify a couple things though for our viewers. The trip through the canyon is usually pretty tame. During the rainy season there can be flash flooding. After this occurs it can make the travel a little more rugged, which is why we have lifted 4x4 coaches, but at no time is the travel dangerous. Also departing from Williams it is 1 hour 10 minutes travel time along Historic Route 66 fully narrated to arrive at the canyon. Then the tour through the canyon begins, 18 miles and usually 1 Hr 30 minutes to 1 Hr 45 minutes depending on conditions with up to 2 hours at the river. I didn't want people to think that it is 6 hours to get to the canyon. Thanks again !
