Best way to see the Grand Canyon
Fantastic way to really see the Grand Canyon. The trip enables you to see the canyon from within - a full view of the Colorado river and the Forrest. Well worth it

      Horrible Customer Service
I thought I was booking a Saturday morning flight. Either trip advisor or provider switched it to Sunday morning. I realized it within 15 minutes of making reservations, but was told all sales final. Extremely poor customer relations. We changed travel plans so we could go. Flight was not 45 minutes, it was at best 35 minutes but if you account for hovering at pad, it was probably 30 minutes. I would not do it again.

An absolute must do when visiting Grand Canyon
Absolutely superb experience. Would not dream of going back to Grand Canyon without booking this tour. Staff very knowledgeable and safety conscious. The pilot played perfect music while flying and also was a great tour guide answering all questions. Truly one of a kind experience.

      A view from above
Spectacular views. The pilot was nice and did a great job of explaining the geology of the canyon. The Grand Canyon is even grander from the eagle’s point of view.

      Much to be desired
Avoid. Especially if you are military or ex military. I have used the two other companies available here with much better service and performance. They appeared to have an attitude the moment they realized we were ex=military. Perhaps it was something in our manner but why risk it when there other companies with (in our experience) better service

Best experience from beginning to end!
This tour was truly awe inspiring. Our pilot, Forest, was friendly and knowledgeable and everyone we came in contact with at Maverick was competent and professional. The helicopter was quiet and comfortable. I would say that in all my 70 years, this was definitely one of the highlights!

45 minutes is the way to have a very special experience!
The pilot did a wonderful job of explaining what we were seeing and giving us some geological information. My husband and I felt safe and we would like to do it again some time. I recommend the 45 minute flight because you get to see so much of both the North and South Rim. The music was delightful as it went with what we were seeing and experiencing. Don't expect perfect photos because the glass prevents crisp pictures. You will have to edit them later and that works pretty well.

      Enjoyable
We enjoyed this tour and felt safe when they cancelled due to the wind being between 40-50mph, luckily we were able to reschedule for the next day. You get to see a completely different view of the Canyon which was very impressive. However I couldn’t get as many picture as I would I’d like due to the sun coming in through my window that coupled with the fact I sitting in the back row. The seats on the helicopter do not give equal views, which is a shame especially as the price is the same for each one! I did feel a bit disappointed because of this to be honest. Having said that I did still enjoy the experience.

Trying to get a refund due to Flight canceled by Maverick Helicopters
We were NOT able to go on our Helicopter Flight. The Pilot canceled it due to weather conditions. I received a confirmation for cancelation from Maverick Helicopters. How do I get my refund? Can you please help?

Superb from start to finish with a very professional company
I was very apprehensive as we say in England sh..ing myself about going in a helicopter. But Maverick are so professional from the moment you arrive. It’s like a little terminal with a shop and facilities. You are put at ease immediately and our pilot was superb understated calm and informative and he was only 21: a big future awaits for him. The flight was smooth and took our breath away: indeed we both cried it was that fantastic. We are so lucky to have the money to do this and yes it is a lot of money but yes it is worth it

      Definitely worth it
Our helicopter tour was great. We were fortunate that the weather was about perfect; sunny, low 70s with hardly any wind. The copter we were in had 8 seats, 4 in front and 4 in the second row. Seats are assigned (I think by weight) with 3 passengers (plus the pilot) in front and 4 passengers in the second row. It was warm in the copter even with air conditioning. Base on our experience it seems like the best views (although there a no bad views) are from the right side. We appreciated the narration and explanations provided by our pilot. We were a little surprised by the bumpiness of the ride related to the force of the chopper blades, but it is not the kind of movement that would cause motion sickness.

What a fabulous experience - Bucket list item ticked off
Easy check in process when we arrived at reception where you have to get weighed so they know where to seat you on the helicopter. The waiting room has plenty of comfy seats and large windows so you can see the other helicopters coming in and out. Our pilot (didn't catch his name) had a great sense of humour and helped us all relax so we could enjoy our flight. You don't get to choose where to sit on the helicopter as its all done by weight, but there were 3 passenger seats in the front plus the pilot and 3 seats in the back. Our 50 minute flight was amazing and went really quickly. Great views of the Canyon and the surrounding area. Once landed we had plenty of time for photos next to the helicopter and the pilot. Its an expensive experience but so worth doing and something to tick off your bucket list.

Experience the sheer size of GC
There’s a nice spacious area to wait and parking outside. You can’t take any baggage so leave it in your car. There’s a shop and vending machine but no coffee. The pilot was Dave, a lovely young man and experienced pilot who truly loves the GC. He gave us great information and was very friendly. You need to be weighed on arrival ( it’s discrete) and you are sat in the helicopter where they want to balance it. There are 8 seats inside with 3 in front next to the pilot and 4 behind. It isn’t bumpy and lurching - although there are a few twists and tips. It’s just exciting. It’s not like rollercoaster stunt flying, it’s very smooth really, and I was pleased I didn’t feel at all travel sick.i know it’s a costly trip, but it’s really worth it. The very best way to see some of the Grand Canyon.

      Once in a lifetime trip
The only way to really see all of the GC. This is an extremely professional and most importantly safe operation. The Helicopters are pretty new Eurocopters specifically adapted for the purpose of. Safety is of course top of their list our pilot Paul was skilful, knowledgeable and made the trip really interesting and informative. Cannot speak highly enough of the operation and its staff.

Awful experience. We had booked a 45 minute tour for myself, my daughter and my two grandsons.
When we arrived at the airfield to check in on the date and time given, we were told that the weather would not allow for the 45min flight but we could have a 25 min flight instead for a refund of $30 per person ( $30 refund on $499 for a flight only half as long!)
As we were boarding another customer started shouting hysterically that she wanted to sit in front and as we all sat there with this woman screaming, we became more and more nervous that she would lose her temper and attack the pilot once we were in flight.
Needless to say we were petrified as we took off , we flew for approx 7 minutes over trees and the helicopter was being buffeted about by the wind and it was a rough uncomfortable ride. We then reached the canyon and spent about another 7 minutes over the canyon itself again swaying and being buffeted about by the wind, and soon were on the way back for another 7 minute trip over the trees!

Thankfully the hysterical woman was silent throughout the flight but the trip I had planned as a surprise for my grandsons was an unmitigated disaster- we could not wait to get off the helicopter and leave the airfield.
How Maverick could have had the audacity to take us up in that weather is just unforgivable - it was in no way a comfortable and enjoyable experience. I have flown in several helicopters around the world- none of which were anywhere near as costly as this flight ($499 for 10 minutes over the canyon) and undertaken in such entirely unsuitable weather.

    Total rip off.

PS: additionally a sticker I bought in the shop was charged at $130 when it should have been $13!!

We regret to learn of your unpleasant encounter. Your downgrade from our Canyon Spirit to the Canyon Dancer was due to weather conditions, resulting in a $30 discrepancy. Furthermore, we apologize for the disturbance caused by another passenger. Please understand that seat assignments are based on helicopter weight and balance considerations. If you believe there has been a billing error, kindly reach out to our terminal, and we will gladly rectify any mistakes. Thank you for choosing to fly with us.

Very professional company, easy check-in and a friendly pilot who explained everything clearly beforehand (I think he was called Quincy?)We had a 45 minute flight and we got to find out lots from our pilot who spoke to us throughout the flight - we could also ask him questions too. At all times I felt totally safe. We had a great view from the front and side window and the helicopter glides gently around so you can get really good pictures/film. It was a really unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend Maverick.

The views from the helicopter were awe inspiring. Our guide Quincy was a capable pilot, however, as a guide, he spoke very rapidly and was therefore very hard to understand. Our only other objection was with the expectation that we tip the pilot. Charge more and do not put your customers in the awkward position of feeling obligated to pay out more money.

This is probably the only way you will want to view the Grand Canyon. We were there when it was still covered in some snow so the viewing had more depth. However, if you're seated between 2 people you can forget about taking photos as they will be in your way.

Do to adverse weather conditions, our tour was downgraded from the 45 min tour to the 25 min.tour. We loved every minute! The operation was very professional and friendly. Their building was very cozy and the gift shop was great! Our pilot was very experienced and knowledgeable about his aircraft and the Grand Canyon. If you have limited time, or are visiting the Grand Canyon during unpleasant climate months, the helicopter tour is a great option! Its an experience you will never forget!!

The helicopter tour was an amazing experience. The pilot was very knowledgeable about the geology of the canyon and provided a lot of interesting information. Since there were wild fires, we couldn't do the long tour, which we booked initially, but they switched us without problems to a smaller tour and refunded the difference back to my credit card. I highly recommend you book a flight with Maverick if you intend to visit the Grand Canyon. You won’t get those views from the rims or skywalk!

We were so excited about our inaugural helicopter flight and what better place to do it. Our pilot, Fred, was great - giving a running commentary and telling jokes as we took off to the music of "Top Gun" - the flight was amazing and will long live in the memory.

Our flight drifted over the scheduled time but still felt over all too quickly - so much to take in in such a short time.

At the end of the flight photographs and DVD's of the flight are available to buy if you choose.

    Loved it !
