As it says ...7 lakes tour
We enjoyed our 11 hour day trip from Bariloche with an enthusiastic English guide Joanna to see the 7 lakes on the itinerary. Comfort breaks were appropriately included and the lunch break in San Martin is pleasant. The walk in to the town from the lake is worthwhile just to compare it with Bariloche. Lots of places to eat beyond what the guide suggests in the 2 hour time slot although we just found a seat to eat our packed lunch overlooking the lake as we weren’t aware their was an opportunity to seek out a lunch venue during our schedule.
If you want to see more of the lakes in this area you won’t be disappointed with this trip. Our travel agent booked it for us through Turracion so not sure which company is the best to use but there appears to be several running on Tuesdays.

A Long Expensive Bus Ride
We paid far too much for this tour which is really a long bus ride . Best thing to do is hire a car and stop where and when you want . We got dropped off at St Martin which is a very nice place and had a nice lunch which isn’t included in the tour . Our guide Alejandro was doing his best and translated his commentary into English for us . However I can not recommend this tour

Dear Orla Douse, We are very sorry that the excursion has not fulfilled your expectations. We understand your point but unfortunately, in relation to the distances we cannot do anything. Between the two locations is where the Camino de los Siete Lagos is located, which gives rise to the name of the tour. As this is a regular tour, it is necessary to use a bus. We also offer private services, in smaller vehicles and with a more flexible itinerary, for those passengers who request it. We are glad to know that Alejandro did your day a better experience. Regarding lunch, and due to the suggestions of many of our travelers, it is an optional; there are people who prefer not to have lunch and walk around San Martin de los Andes. Thank you for your comments as it helps us to improve our services, Kind regards, Tangol Travel Agency

Ripoff - San Martin de los Andes and the Seven Lakes Day Trip from Bariloche with Tangol
Jan. 2020
I booked this trip online for 120$ USD. On the morning of the trip, I go to the pick-up point in front of the travel agency in Bariloche, only to find that this trip costs only 41$ USD locally. This is because the online booking goes through a third-party travel agency in Buenos Aires (Tangol) who obviously ripped me off. I can understand that a third-party agency may charge some sort of fee (10-20 %), but he difference between 41 and 120$ USD is a 200% mark-up. Do yourself a favor and wait to be in Bariloche to buy this tour. Also, I will never again buy anything from Tangol. They are thieves!

Dear Jacques, We are really sad to read your comments about Tangol. We would like to clarify that our travel agency sells all its tours with total honesty. First of all, please note that you booked the tour in English. A guided tour in spanish, it is usually a bit cheaper, since the tours requested with a guide in English have another price. There are also special rates for national tourists. The advertisement that you visualized at the local destination it was eventually for argentinians, that is the reason why it was cheaper than your reservation. According to our company's policies, our rates are updated daily to be sure you get the best available price online or at destination - 100% granted! Furthermore, Tangol will always show you the 'honest rate' on our site – reason why all our rates include local taxes and no surcharges are added later. Thank you for your comprehension and comments as it helps us improve the quality of our services. Kind Regards, Tangol

Relaxing day trip
Jan. 2020
Viviana was our guide and she was fantastic. It is a long day on the bus going out and back to see the Seven Lakes via the same road. It is not a circular route. You do get several opportunities to take photos at viewpoints. Certainly, if you drive yourself there would be even better opportunities. However, I felt I saw all there was to see. It was great to sit back and relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

The two stops in Villa de Angostura and San Martin were pleasant. Neither offers much interest except they are quaint in their own way. It was especially nice to sit at the beach on the lake in San Martin where we had a couple of hours to ourselves. It was busy and entertaining. Food carts were a great option to the sit down restaurants.

Viviana shared her knowledge of places we passed as well as general history of Argentina. She is very friendly, sincere, engaging and inclusive. Her English is excellent.

A long bus ride - good for a mixed weather day
Nov. 2019
This is a 450 km, 10 hour bus journey with 2 hours for lunch and 2 breaks for coffee of a half hour. Having spent quite a bit of time driving a rental car, we looked forward to this bus trip ($33) on day where we expected rain most of the day. Inspite of off and on rain, the scenery was beautiful when the sun came out. If it is a perfect day, I am sure it would have been nicer. The town of San Martin is pretty - nice restaurants (we liked Ulisses) - could have spent an overnight here but we didn't plan to.
