...this one is a perfect way to see Cape Town. We started at the waterfront on New Years Day, this was a good job as it turned out, it was very busy and me and my girlfriend had to sit apart to begin with and further along the route people couldn't get on. The tour initially winds through the city before climbing up to the table mountain cableway. This is where we departed and picked up the tour later in the day. Once we resumed our tour we continued to Camps Bay before returning on a coastal route back to the waterfront. The commentary was good and gave some informative information without being over the top. The top deck is a sun trap, watch out for those flying branches too! The best views can be found by sitting on the left hand side of the bus.

We prebooked our 3 day bus pass for the blue and red route and our Cape Point/Penguin tour and the Franschoek Wine Tram Tour before we left the uk.
A very well organised company with regular buses for the Hop on Hop off. Free headphones provided for commentary while in the buses. Everything very punctual with lovely staff. We stayed at the Cape Heritage Hotel which was a short 5 minute walk from the Long Street office/bus stop so it was very convenient. The long street office had a small coffee shop, cafe, gift shop and information centre along with free WIFI and toilets.
Rico, Mosa and Wendy were amazing on our Cape Point tour. Rico gave us a personal running commentary and information service instead of the headphones. He shouted to stop the bus as there was a Zebra at Cape Point.
Would highly recommend the buses to anyone wanting to visit all the main tourist attractions.

We found the prices expensive at 245 Rand (US$17.50) for one day, 285 ($20) for two. Particularly when compared to the very reasonable prices for getting around town by Uber.
My wife unfortunately misplaced her ticket after we boarded the bus. The bus then broke down. Despite my wife having the receipt of her proof of purchase the company would not replace her ticket, or even allow her to board the replacement bus. Very bush league, not in keeping with the high standards of other tourist providers in Cape Town.

Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that you found paying USD 17 for an all day Hop On Hop off ticket that includes 4 different bus lines and a free walking tour too much. From what we can see within our global sightseeing family - on a USD/tour time basis, our tickets are about 50% cheaper than any other operator.
We most certainly are a little more than a taxi service and we would like to think that we are not public transport - we offer a high quality tour that covers all of Cape Town in one day with buses departing every 10-15 minutes for our customers convenience.
I am sorry you had to buy a replacement ticket, but every customer is obliged to produce their ticket when called on to do so, else another passengers can well be travelling with your ticket! I don't believe that this policy is different between open top bus operators across the globe.
I am sorry we could not meet your expectations but do hope you enjoyed your stay in Cape Town

We used this facility to spoil our office staff to thank them for their steadfastness during the tough lockdown time and for their share in keeping our business sound and still going strong.
What a pleasant day it was! All the City Sightseeing staff were só professional, helpful and friendly! The bus drivers are in a league of their own!
We could just sit down and relax and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip as well as the scenery.
We all felt like international tourists :)

My husband and I bought the Deluxe 3 Day Open Top Red Bus Ticket which offers 3 loops over 3 days - the Red, Blue and Purple Loop. This was one of the best decisions ever as it honestly is the best way to see Cape Town from a higher vantage point and offers amazing views that you probably wouldn't get if travelling via car. It's also such an affordable way to see the city and buses are frequent!
It covers a great distance and you will be smiling the entire way at the breathtaking scenery and incredible commentary. My suggestion is to do the bus tour the first or second day of your stay to give you a good appreciation of the city and some history. You can cover all 3 loops in 2 days honestly if you want to save time.
My recommendation is allocating the 1st day for the Purple Constantia Tour (half day) + Blue Peninsula tour (half day) and the 2nd day for Table Mountain (Red City tour) + the sunset bus in the evening (amazing sunset!). The bus ticket is valid for 14 days from the date you choose to travel. As such, check the weather forecast before activating your bus ticket as a sunny day makes a big difference especially when going up table mountain.
Don't hesitate to do the bus tour! It's awesome!

Really enjoyed the bus tour. (Did the red one and part of the blue one) I got my ticket online and got a small discount. All the drivers were lovely and friendly. I lost my set of earphones at some point and had to ask for another set which they issued with a smile. Open-topped buses are a great way to see any city to get your bearings, see what’s what and spot places to go back to for further exploration.

We went on the blue line tour this past Saturday. We felt like tourists in our own city, seeing statues and learning things about Cape Town we never knew, even tasting mopane worms for the first time at Moyo restaurant.

We joined the Blue Route 2 and a half hour tour at the Waterfront on 22nd August 2020. We were a family group of 5 adults and 3 children. This was our first family outing since Covid 19 and the lockdown, so we were apprehensive but the bus crew made us feel welcome and had all the precautions in place to ensure everyone's safety. It was wonderful to sit upstairs on the bus and be a tourist in our beautiful city, and gain some sense of normaility after this stressful time. The bus driver was excellent and kept up a consistent and safe speed. It was a wonderful experience and we will do this again, hopefully when we can "hop on and hop off" to also see some of the sights along the way. Thank you to the team!! Take care and stay safe.

Thank you for your feedback. I am very happy that you approve of our safety protocols. As a Nation we will win this battle and together we will make the economy stronger than it was before. Most attractions are open in September so we are resuming the hop on hop off from Saturday 5 September - and introducing a very special Family, all routes ticket to keep it very affordable!

Thought this was a very good way of getting an introduction to Cape Town. Would recommend skipping Kirstenbosch and devoting a whole day to it later, sticking to just one wine tasting or else you end up spending the whole day drinking and skipping Camps bay because really you’ll be back there so many time before you leave I’m sure. Lots of fun info on the voice over and a beautiful drive - it was lovely sitting in the sun feeling the breeze on the top level.

The bus was always on time. Friendly and informative drivers. My experience as a passenger was secure and safe. I enjoyed touring the whole of Cape Town through just a hop-on-hop-off idea. Love it. The not so friendly part about sitting at the top deck without a roof is the heat that strikes the skin. Be sure to wear sun screen, hat, thin and long clothing if you want to sit on top during summer.

I know that the bus takes you to table mountain. Is it advisable to purchase the cable car ride as well, or can you hike a trail on mountain?

Its a very steep climb and you need to be in good shape. Its not just a walk up a hill- its a hike that you need to prepare for. Weather can come in and be dangerous.
Buying tix ahead- as busoffice best- they will tell you if cable car is running. Buying tix -you will wait in line 30-60min vs 90/2hrs if need to buytix

I will spend one full day in Cape Town this summer, on a Sunday. Can I do the hop-on, hop-off city tour, the Table Mountain and the Boulders beach in one day?

Good day, I personally have not done the boulders beach tour, so it is difficult for me to answer that question.
As you only have one day I understand that you want to take in as much as possible, so I think if you have a very early start you might to able to squeeze it in, but saying that Boulders beach and Table Mountain are far apart.
