Safari, Panorama & Swaziland - don't look any further!
If you're looking for a safari in South Africa and you're trying to find a tour operator, you should definitely go with African Safari Adventures. Everything feels very personal and tailored to what you want and what you like. They have been very helpful with the planning, listened to our wishes and what we liked and gave us a worry-free experience at a competitive price. The guide, Dirk, is probably one of the most experienced and engaged guides in the Kruger park. He keeps track of animal sightings in the past days / weeks and generally knows where to go. He is also very engaged on the radio, trying to make sure to be up-to-date with the latest sightings. We have also done a Panorama day tour with Heyn, who is very knowledgeable and made us feel like we were on a road trip with an old friend, as opposed to having a guide. Lastly, we did a trip to Swaziland with Adriaan, who is the expert on Swazi culture. We had a great time here too, I can definitely recommend going here if you have the time. Book at least two nights, as if you just go for one night, things may get a little tight. The accommodation we had was included and could not have wished for anything better.

          Brilliant
Our guide, Dirik, was fantastic. He knew exactly where to go to look for the animals we were searching for (painted dogs). He was friendly, and his years of experience were evident from his knowledge of flora and fauna. He was a joy to be around and I cant recommend him and this outfitter enough.

Our driver, Edsel, was prompt and the van comfortably. He gave us lots of information about the area and it’s people on our drive to the canyon. This was a great day trip. The Blyde Canyon and boat cruise was breathtaking. The canyon is beautiful and so green. We saw three crocodiles and five hippos. The boat guide was very knowledgeable and we learned several things about the animals and canyon. After the boat trip we stopped for lunch at a local place. We then headed to Moholoho Animal Preserve. They work they are doing to rehabilitate animals and protect those that cannot go back to the wild is fantastic. We saw white lions, cheetahs, leopards, black Panther, and golden badgers. We have always enjoyed our tour booked through TripAdvisor but this was one of the best.

          Excellent transfer service!
My husband and I used African Safari Adventures for a transfer from one safari camp to another. They were prompt, professional and made the long transfer fun. They take covid safety measures and we felt safe and relaxed with them. Highly recommend!!

          Friendly, knowledgeable drivers
The driver Greg picked 6 of us up from the Kruger airport and drove us to Rissington Inn. On the way, he provided history and useful information on the scenery we passed. The next morning, our driver Paul, picked us up from Rissington Inn, took us on the Panarama Highlights Tour, and then onto Umjumbe Safari Lodge. Both drivers were exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I would definitely recommend their services. Thanks to Live Life African Safari Getaways for organizing the transfers.

If we could give 10 starts.... I would! From first enquiry to the end of the tour... first class!
We had a wonderful day in Kruger. The tour guide, (who's name I'm sorry, I've forgotten) was incredible, his knowledge and love of the park was evident. We were fortunate enough to see four of the big five as well as many other animals, birds etc. I am indebted to Tracy for her help before we even left the UK and whilst we were in Hazyview. I honestly can't recommend them highly enough.

A great few days on safari
We were picked up by our driver/guide Adriaan and were first taken to meet Tracey Meaker ‘the boss’ who we had been in contact to organise the tour but not met. Lovely lady and made us feel very welcome explaining what the next few days had in store. However words don’t cover what a fantastic experience these visits give you. Our new friend Adriaan has over twent years experience in Kruger and amazing knowledge of the animals and birds we were lucky enough to see. Our first two nights were based at the camp in Lower Sabie so even on the drive there we saw Impala, warthogs, hippos, elephant, zebra, so many different birds and a male lion who had just finished off a meal stolen from a leopard who sat watching from a safe distance. The camp was comfortable and our room overlooked the river, dinner in the restaurant then an early night ready for the 5:30 am start next day. In fact the next two days were just as great, Adriaan taking routes around Kruger finding so many animals and birds patiently putting up with our excitement of being so close to things you only see on films or in the zoo. So many it’s hard not to list them all but a magnificent pride of lions maybe 10 metres from the jeep, a female cheetah also close by, a huge male giraffe strolling along a road accompanied by a pack of rare wild dogs, several herds and a few lone bull elephants again almost close enough to touch. Amazing something we will never forget. Thanks Adriaan & Tracey can’t recommend you highly enough

          Amazing one-day game drive!
When on tour in South Africa with a group, our tour company used African Safari Adventures for our full-day open vehicle safari in Kruger National Park. We were able to enter Kruger and begin our discoveries right as the park opened in the morning. Our guide, Heyn, did a remarkable job pointing out and expertly explaining the wildlife and vegetation. Due to our tour group circumstances, there were eight of us in our vehicle. However, Heyn positioned (and repositioned) the vehicle and allowed time so that all of the avid photographers on board could take pictures. He explained which animals we would be likely to see often in order to be able to spend more time at less frequent sightings: a family of African wild dogs, a pride of lions (lion, lionesses, four cubs) relaxing after having made a kill / dragged the victim into the taller grass, and more. We made two stops at the Skukuza Rest Camp during our one-day outing: one during the morning and the second at about lunch time. Heyn mentioned the small museum/library and the ranger dog memorial at the rest camp for those of us who had spare time during those stops, and we found them very interesting. We were grateful for his in-depth knowledge of the areas where we traveled and for his expertise as concerns the fauna and flora.

          Overlander
This my 2nd overlander with this company and they didn’t disappoint. Our Guide Mwangi was excellent always informing everyone of when/where/what is happening and what time to be where. Our chef Rueben whips up a storm everyday and not disappointing us with his wonderful creations. Driver Isa is also looking after us by ensuring the truck is in good working order, ensuring our safety is his priority. I would recommend this company for any overlander trip as you have a Guide/Driver and chef and not all comany’s have a chef and you have to do your own shopping.

          Really good full Day Safari
They picked us up on time, only 4 people on the jeep and a really nice guide. I reccommend taking a one day tour first, and then spend another day or two going on self drive (which is also very fun)

          Epic African Safari Experience
My family and I have just returned from an unforgettable holiday organised and hosted by Tracey and the team at African Safari Adventures. We had just 10 days for our trip and wanted to cram in as much adventure, wildlife, culture, beach, good food and fun as possible. Tracey didn’t disappoint and pulled together an itinerary that was absolutely tailored to our needs. So much so, we didn’t have to think about anything other than enjoying our ourselves. We began in Jo’burg and transferred by internal flight to Skukuza where the safari began immediately after stepping off our flight! Dirk was our incredibly knowledgeable guide and we spent 4 nights at various camps around the Kruger (its huge!) seeing and learning about all the amazing wildlife. Our trip included brekky and lunch but also the highlight, a braai feast under the stars cooked by Dirk every night. The portions were huge and the food delicious. After the Kruger, we changed vehicle and were driven (3hrs) to Maputo in Mozambique by Adriaan (another fountain of all wildlife/culture knowledge) where we picked up a boat and arrived at machangulobeachlodge.com. It was a small beautiful beach resort with great staff, facilities, activities and food. The place was perfect for relaxing. After 5 nights we then met up with Adriaan in Maputo again and drove into Swaziland/ Eswatini for another very different safari experience (sunset Rhino drive!) at Hlane reserve. After another great home cooked evening meal, the following day we visited the Mantenga reserve and saw some wonderful traditional Swazi tribe dancing before heading back to Jo’burg for our flight home. It really was a very special holiday for our family, all made possible by Tracey and the team at African Safari Adventures. We hope to visit again. The Abbott Family - UK

          EXCELLENT!!!
We booked the morning safari in Kruger National Park. Our guide, Dirk, arrived on time to pick us up at our hotel and was good at getting us in the park as fast as possible. He was so nice and informative. We really enjoyed being with him! He made it possible to see lions, wild dogs, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, cape buffalo, herds of elephants, rhinos and more!! I can't say enough good things to describe the wonderful experience we had with him as our guide! We had take a couple other game drives with our tour company, and had other guides. But this company was the cream of the crop. He was the best!!! We highly recommend this company. It was the best!!

Great company for safaris and southern Africa tours
I went on a 2 week custom tour of southern Africa with African Safari Adventures. We took a 3 country tour through South Africa, Mozambique, and Swaziland. We had a great trip - first we went on a panorama tour around the Hazyview area and saw some waterfalls, God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, and some other scenic areas. The next day we went into Kruger where we spent several days. We then went to Mozambique and Swaziland. In Maputo we took a tour called Mafalala walking tour which was a really great way to learn about the history and see everyday life in Maputo. We went on a similar tour in Swaziland where we went to Kaphunga village in the mountains above Manzini. I’d recommend these two additional tours if visiting Maputo and Swaziland - we all agreed that these were the highlights of Maputo and Swaziland since you feel you’re getting a real sense of local life in the countries you’re visiting. Overall the trip was a great mix of nature and culture. We really liked the balance of including city and village tours along with our safari. It gives you a good overview of southern Africa. We were with the same guide, Adriaan, for the entire trip. We didn’t have to worry about anything, we had door to door service from our pickup at JNB airport to our dropoff there 2 weeks later. We never had to think about transportation or figure out where we were staying, which made the trip relaxing. It was like visiting your cousin who lives in South Africa and he shows you around for a few weeks. Just don’t worry about anything and let him figure out where to go. His specialty is as a nature guide - some days in Kruger we saw the big 5 before breakfast. We saw every major animal you’d hope to spot at Kruger multiple times. The safari truck was comfortable and you always felt safe and had great views. Several nights on safari Adriaan cooked for us. The food was prepared ahead of time by the company and he brought it along with us in coolers and cooked it for us on the grill. The camp meals were some of the best of the trip. I’m a vegetarian and always had more than enough to eat. My family ate the filet that Adriaan grilled on the last night and said it might be the best steak they’ve ever had - better than the high end steakhouses in the US. I think because African Safari Adventures is a small company, you get a bit more of a personal touch and not just a mass produced cookie cutter tour. Overall, we were happy with our trip and would gladly book with African Safari Adventures if we were to travel to southern Africa. If I had to go back and make adjustments the only thing I might change would be the lodging - we’re not camping type people so in retrospect I might opt to pay a bit more for some of the less rustic camps. Thank you, Adriaan and African Safari Adventures, for a great trip!

Wonderful! Highlight of our 3 week Vacation!
What a wonderful experience! I can't say enough great things! From the beginning, Tracey was so helpful. She answered all my questions about this trip, and was even helpful with other parts of our trip, which were completely unrelated. Our children have food allergies, so I was a little nervous. She was very helpful, super careful (as was our guide), and even took us to our first stop of a high end grocery store that is specializes in healthy foods, so we could have safe snacks for the children. We found this company on accident. We were just searching for game drives and were excited to see they could coordinate a longer experience, as well. We have done self-catering through Kruger, and ultra luxury safaris, as well. This was the best of all worlds. 1) We had an excellent guide, Dirk, and Teenage, our camp host. We had so much fun with both of them. We had the benefit of open air private drives that we had at luxury lodges, but we got to experience it inside Kruger! We never felt like we were chasing down animals (as we have felt in some of the smaller reserves), but still got to see everything we wanted to! We saw the Big 5, plus wild dogs, black rhinos. Stinking elusive cheetah!!!! :-) Dirk was so knowledgeable about everything, including all birds, which we loved. 2) We wanted a nice place to sleep for our family, wanted to do it under canvas so we could hear the lions in the early hours, and wanted it to be affordable. It was all that. Our tents were so comfortable. I haven't slept like that in a long time (luxury cots with the nicest sheets!) Staying in Kruger means you are out early, before the crowds and out later in the evening as well. 3) We didn't want to worry about cooking. They handled all of that and it was so delicious and wonderful. My son adored Teenage, and loved helping him with monkey duty in camp. We all were so sad to say goodbye to Dirk and leave this incredible experience. I highly recommend this trip. Ask Tracey if you want to modify it in any way, and she will adjust to your specific needs. I am counting the days until we can go back to our happy place!

Day one of a week with African Safari Adventures and mostly it was wet! Really didn’t matter as with our excellent driver/guide Heyn we were taken on the Panorama route and what spectacular sights we were able to see.
Heyn said he’d never seen so much water in the various falls he showed us, Lisbon, Berlin and Lone Creek so the rain did have benefits! The Potholes and canyon were luckily seen in a dry patch and just as spectacular. Lunch at the famous pancake stop was very good so the weather did not spoil a great start to our week.

Adrian took us on this day trip and we were absolutely astounded by the gorgeous scenery. It really was far more than we expected. The timing of everything was excellent and it included a lovely lunch at a pancake house. Tracey who did our booking was extremely helpful and she also helped us book very cheap car hire and a fabulous private game reserve. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone travelling to Kruger or anywhere near the Panorama route. The advice was invaluable. I hope we'll be back.

Highly recommend this tour and this company. Nothing was too much trouble. I am sorry I have lost the note I made myself of the tour guide, Henke maybe? His knowledge of the area was exceptional. He took time to make sure that we had time to see all that we wanted to an dpatiently answered all of our many questions.
The views are just mindblowingly wonderful. Never to be forgotten.

        Highly recommend this company.

Our host, Paul picked us up from the lodge and the awesomeness started from the moment we met him. He is a great balance of professional and friendly. Incredibly knowledgeable and open minded. We were truly blessed to spend the whole day with Paul. We had a fantastic time. The tour itself is as described and then some! I highly recommend African Safari Tours and will definitely use them again when back in Hazyview.
