We loved this flight tour of the misty fjords…. It was a beautiful day and we saw amazing scenery….islands, mountains, cliffs, forests, lakes…. Our pilot was Dave who was very informative and interesting.

The Very Best Float Plane Company in Alaska
Jul. 2020
I fish in Alaska each summer for a week or two. I charter with Misty Fjords to take our group to our fishing destination in Coffman Cove. We have always had great service with Misty Fjords, even going above and beyond this summer (2020) after our airline changed our flights three times and we had to have our float planes rescheduled three separate times. Each time I called I was taken care of quickly and the service is very, very good. We have used other services years ago, but none gives the quality of service that Misty Fjords provides.

Amazing!
We had an amazing trip with Ryan and Alaska Seaplane Adventures. The Misty Fjord landing is like being alone in the wilderness. We were the only plane there and there was total silence. We flew over many waterfalls and miles of trees...and no people.

What a trip - do not miss this!
Sep. 2019
What a trip! - an incredible morning out flying over the stunning scenery around Ketchikan, and eventually landing on one of the lakes in Misty Fjords.

Our pilot (Chuck?) was amazing - his commentary superb, as was his obvious love for the area, he even brought along his own tailored playlist for the journey which was excellent (the choice of Stairway to Heaven was particularly inspired).

A truly fantastic trip and one that we would really, really recommend to others to take.

Safe Friendly Fun Worth the $$
Aug. 2019
We flew in a new Otter turbo prop float plane. Skilled and experienced pilot.Smooth ride, quiet landing on the lake water- simply breathtaking! Guide was knowledgable and helpful during the flight. It was so peaceful on the water. We had a beautiful day. Just wish we could have stayed longer before having to turn around-maybe offer a picnic lunch or snack break- just to extend the time? Appreciated the safety instructions and that they don't fly if the weather is questionable. (We missed out on our tours in Juneau because of the weather there- so we understand the disappointment) Well worth the money- can't think of a better way to see the grandeur of the misty fjords! Highly recommend!

Flight Cancelled
Aug. 2019 • Family
It was raining and there was very slight fog like always in Ketchikan, but zero wind, and they cancelled the flight. That’s normal Ketchikan weather and they are canceling the flight, it looks like you guys are all really lucky. I watched a video of this exact same one and it was raining and windy and the flight still happened. I guess I was just extremely unlucky, but they handled this horribly. We had to go to the stand outside to find out it was cancelled, instead of just getting called. Very bad experience :(

Misty Fjords Ai... P
Hi Traveler123456789- Thank you for taking the time to write a review, we appreciate feedback as it helps us improve. We take the safety of our crew and passengers seriously and cancel flights if conditions are unsafe or would be poor tour quality. The weather here in the Ketchikan harbor isn't always the best indicator of what the conditions are en route to and in the Misty Fjords National Monument. At the time of booking we request a contact phone number which is the number we call when a cancellation is announced. If there is no answer we leave a message as well as send an email to the address where the confirmation is sent. I would be happy to look into the day further if you would email us the date and time your tour was to take place.

Fun! Even though weather limited our flight
Jun. 2019
On a Viking cruise and booked this outing with friends. The company was professional and efficient and our pilot instilled confidence. Because the ceiling was too low the pilot turned around after about 20 minutes in the air (the view was great!) and said we couldn't complete the trip. We were all happy he readily ended the flight in consideration of our safety first. I gave it a 4, only because of the weather. We would use them again if we find ourselves back in Alaska.

Great flight. It was our first time on a sea plane. Flight was smooth. Pilot Dave was very good at pointing things out during the flight. The views were amazing. Great ways to see the Misty Fjords’ of Alaska.

Disappointing
Aug. 2019
We had been told by trip advisor that this was a special tour, especially w/r to the pilot/tour directors. Our our pilot was excellent as a pilot but definitely was more into flying cargo (which he freely admitted was his main job) than passengers. We got almost nothing about the area we were flying over, and had no chance to chat with him during the flight since he spent the time chatting with the person in the co-pilot's seat who also had a license. We also flew at a high altitude to avoid turbulence, although it also meant that the only view we had of the fjords was from a distance. Our landing on the lake was also disappointing as we were told we could get out of the plane and then immediately told to get back in. Maybe good reasons for all of the above, but with a pilot who made little effort to communicate with us, the whole trip was less rewarding than that of others who have done reviews. Just makes you realize how important it is to have a pilot/tour director who is interested in giving his passengers a memorable and informative experience.
