Went on a Kenai fishing trip with Kenai River Trout Anglers. They provided all the gear for spin fishing or fly fishing. I decided to fly fish that day. I was paired up with another angler and Guide Matt. We immediately got into some fish. Lots of Sockeye, Rainbow and Dolly Varden Trout were caught. I was very impressed how the fish were handled and quickly released unharmed by Guide Matt. He cares about the fishery and told us about the different species. We were able to take lots of fotos of the fish. The Guide positioned the boat so we could both easily fish and we pulled over a few times. I would go again with them anytime. I definitely recommend Kenai River Trout Anglers to my friends, family, and anyone looking score trophy sized trout. A little less than 2 hours outside of Anchorage, I drove down to Cooper Landing to meet my guide (s/o Brandon M.) to float the Kenai. He was very thorough and informative while it was my first time fly fishing the Kenai. Extra brownie points for letting me bring my dog Milo on the boat with us. Brandon was excellent at getting me dialed. Within the first hour I caught a trophy dolly. Absolutely stoked lol. Throughout the whole day I caught so many trout I ended up losing count. It was a very successful and memorable day floating the Kenai. Milo and I are definitely coming back!

We had an amazing half day afternoon fly fishing trip on the upper Kenai with Brandon Martinez as our guide. We got on fish immediately and landed dozens of Rainbow and Dolly Varden and the action practically never stopped including multiple double hookups! The trip was awesome, our guide Matt showed his passion for the sport, his care for the fishery and environment, his patience with us knuckleheads and taking the time to teach us things, and his ability to find the fish. Amazing!! My son's Make A Wish was to fish in Alaska on his birthday. JJ and Owen made that happen!! What genuine and knowledgeable river guides. We had 2 boats for our family of 6. We caught many fish! It was a beautiful day. We would highly recommend this company for all of your Alaska fishing needs.

My Husband and I love fly fishing at home, so we knew we had to have a trip as part of our Alaska vacation. Little did we know, we would get one of the best guides we’ve ever had in any industry. Matt was a true joy to be around. He taught us so much about nymphing, river patterns, and the fish. His passion and knowledge of the river system was evident and he had us on the fish all day long. I have used this guide service for several years, but never fully appreciated their unbelievable knowledge of this river until this trip. The fishing was slow for a few reasons and the fish count was way down for everyone on the river. JJ, our guide pulled out every trick and used every bend and hole he knew of throughout the day to still produce fish on days where other people had not done well at all. Wow! Super impressive JJ. We have gone with KRTA the past 3 seasons on the Kenai and Matt Rima was our exceptional guide each trip. Matt's knowledge and experience has made for the most amazing fishing trips we've had. From flood stage to low flows Matt knows where to find the fish! His patience teaching newer anglers and dialing in everyone else on the Kenai bead bite is exceptional. Watching him show my son how its done and the joy of fish after big fish made memories of a lifetime. It isn't all about the fishing. With Matt there is the feeling of adventure and discovery along the way down the beautiful wild Kenai. From exploring back channels to catching fish in every type of water it seems like a different river each day! I admired his deep respect and care for the fishery, especially on those hundred fish days with me and my partner!! He knows where to find big fish that is usually only seen on the middle section! Fishing with Matt is the highlight of our trips to the Kenai and now he's a great friend. JJ runs a top notch business and veteran guide Matt Rima is gets it done even during the glut!!

We had an incredible half day trip with Brandon. He was a stellar guide! We just wish we would have done a full day float to keep the good fishing going. Would absolutely fish with Kenai River Trout Anglers over and over again in a heartbeat.

Always an awesome time with Kenai River Trout Anglers. I have been fishing once or twice a year with Guide JJ for several years now. My Dad was in town visiting so we decided to book a full day trip. My dad had never been fly fishing, and JJ had him hooked up with fish in no time with a real quick fly fishing 101 course. The views were absolutely stunning. The guide Brandon was informative, very helpful and patient.
