Our tour begins when our guide pick you up at the lobby of your Hotel and move to the northern part of the country, being unavoidable to make a brief stop in the famous town of Sarchi, internationally known for its laborious artisans who give Sarchi renown as the cradle of the Costa Rican Crafts. Following our trip we will pass through plantations of various agricultural products, ornamental plants, cattle farms, until we reach the town of La Fortuna to have lunch in a cozy restaurant just in front of the Volcano. This excellent location allows us from very early, to have the best view waiting for the Volcano to please the visitors.  We will rest in one of the best hot springs in the area, where you can optionally have the oportunity to have a massage or spa treatment booked in advance.

Destiny Travel for the win (again)!
Destiny Travel again provided a fantastic experience for my husband & I at the last minute. Another tour company canceled our booking because the hot spring they use was having power issues. This was a "must-do" for us and Arturo gave us a personal tour that lasted 15 hours! He drove very safely through the highway, countryside & cloud forest...navigating the "sleeping police" (i.e. speed bumps) with ease. The stop in Sarchi was educational & their souvenir shop has EVERYTHING you could want. We had an amazing lunch at Victorino's on the way then headed to the hanging bridges where we saw spider monkeys, vipers, toucans, tarantulas & hummingbirds among many other animals & vegetation. Our guide pointed out a lot that we would have missed without him showing us...the monocular allowed us to see even the tiniest animals in the rain forest. He even took photos through it & shared them with the group after using airdrop/whatsapp. Relaxing in Baldi's hot springs was a great way to end the day before the long drive back to San Jose...be prepared for the pools to get hotter as you go up the hill! I can't say enough great things about Arturo & how great he was throughout the LONG day...totally worth the $$!

          Most accommodating tour company ever
Destiny Travel was able to get my husband, adult daughter, & I into this tour at the last minute after another company canceled on us the night before due to "weather conditions". We had fabulous weather & on the long very FULL day tour we saw a sloth, spiders, spider/capuchin monkeys, toucans, egrets, herons, alligators/caimans, lots of butterflies & after many steps where the canals meet the Caribbean sea. Our driver was fantastic & our guide Arturo was amazing! He shared a lot about the area including growing crops like bananas & sugar cane, explained why the rivers were yellow, & he had a great sense of humor too.

          Wild time!
This was a great trip. I might have said 4.5/5 - but it was really worth it. Edgar our guide was great. It was an early morning and a long drive down. We stopped for breakfast after an hour or so. Local food and some fresh fruit. It took another 2 hours to get all the way to the park. But we did get to drive all the way to it - we parked right beside at the hotel where we had lunch. The park was amazing. We learned a lot from our guide - saw two species of sloths, lots of birds and lizards and the white face monkeys. The hike up cathedral is worth it but it is a workout. The beach areas were lovely. The water was a perfect temperature (early March) and the beach was not crazy crowded. Watch out for big waves to knock you over. It was crowded at the cantina and the showers - so be prepared to skip. Late lunch after was good. Drive home was long again. 12+hr day. Tips - Bring water in a reusable bottle - Bring snacks that you can top up with before you go into the park (you will be about 6-7 hrs without food) (no outside food in the park) - Bring a charger for your phone Good - our guide was great - we got very lucky with one other lovely couple - it was nice to not be in a massive tour (it was just the four of us plus the guide). The van was small and it was just us. The less the 0.5/5 - it might have been nice for cold water bottles to be on the bus. Even if we didn’t need them. - the van was a little older - so no phone chargers. AC was good though.

          Great stop while driving north
Stopped by for a few hours while driving from San Jose to La Fortuna. Beautiful setting high up in the mountains with lovely gardens and a variety of rehab/rescue animals. Also a fair number of coatis roaming about on the path the waterfall. Tip - the lunch at the restaurant by reception is much nicer than the buffet. Quieter, not much more expensive and a lovely view across the valley.

A Day Well-Spent Outside San Jose
The tour was fantastic. Our guide Jerry spent the ride out to the Falls giving us an overview of life in Costa Rica and telling us what we were going to see. The animal refuge was a particular favorite for my wife, who got to stand within a foot of a colorful toucan. There was a fairly strenuous walk from the animal refuge to the Falls (strenuous at least for those of us over 70), but both Jerry and our driver (whose name I unfortunately forgot) were both careful to make sure all of us hikers were looked after. Kudos also for the wonderful buffet lunch included in the tour, which was of good quality and with lots of variety.

Best tour guide in Costa Rica
Cheton and Leo (hope that no spelling mistake) is a very good guide and driver. Such a knowledgeable and informative guide. We are lucky to see the clear crafter and take many good photos in some beautiful places. We can strongly feel that the guide really try to take care each tourist. We love this country because of them. You should not miss this tour, 100% recommend.

          A superb full day tour.
This full day tour was an excellent introduction to Costa Rica. Breakfast was included at the Doka Coffee Plantation and lunch was included at the La Pas Waterfall Gardens - both were great. Looking into a volcano crater was quite a thrill, and the cloud cleared to give us a good view. We saw lots of animals and birds at the refuge and were particularly thrilled to walk among the toucans! Our tour guide was great (in Spanish and English).

Very informative guide with enthusiasm for the park, wildlife and geography of the country. Park is exceptionally well set up and maintained. Lots of walking and steps but most people can handle it. Waterfalls were impressive

          Awful
I would not recommend this tour company. I would recommend getting a shuttle to take you to the hot springs directly only.

Long day, but worth it !
Pickup on time in a clean comfortable van, after reconfirmation the night before. It was a long long drive out, but we were give ample restroom breaks coming and going. First stop is the artisan town of Sarchi, where we were given a brief tour of the historic oxcart factory. Clean restrooms and souvenirs shopping at Fábrica de Carretas Eloy Alfaro. Next up was Mistco Hanging Bridges Park and our group was provided with a private guided tour. A guide is necessary here, and we also had a skip line pass to enter. Last was the largest hot springs in the world, Baldi. They have locker & towel rental, showers, and changing rooms. Purchase your locker key, at the entrance. This place is huge. Things you may need; bug spray, small poncho, water socks, an old pair of tennis shoes or hiking shoes, and tip money. It is a long day, with moderate hiking involved, and our tour ran over a bit, and that shortened our time at Baldi. This is such a nice Combo tour. Recommend Destiny Tours for all tour excursions.

Very informative, included a nice lunch. We didn’t realize it was a private tour. Oscar knows his facts but has strong accent, hard to understand at times.

Park is great, but I’d suggest a different company
The park itself was amazing and worthwhile. But as a solo traveler and a young woman I didn’t feel the most safe being picked up by an unmarked mini van at 5 am with only me and the driver. For the money I paid, I expected something a bit more legit. I had also heard from one of the women I spoke to on this same tour as me who said this company lied to her the day before about picking her up- she was meant to have been on the tour the day before but the company was a bit sketchy. Not a great feeling.

This was a fantastic trip. Our host Oscar was extremely knowlegable about the country's history, , culture and the volcanos. The food was excellent at both stops and included in the excursion. The experience at Baldi Hot Spings was relaxing and truly one of the best 30 minute massages ive ever had. I would highly recommend this trip if you have an enitire day to spare.

The Baldi Hot Springs was fantastic. There were 25 different pools to pick from, some relaxed and secluded, others decorated with waterfalls and rock features. It was a variety that everyone could find something they liked - as long as they liked hot tubs.

On our way to the springs we stopped to see some attractions which was nice to get some history of Costa Rica.

I would certainly consider this excursion again.

We passed through San Jose on both ends of our trip to Costa Rica. I picked this day tour as a way of getting to see more of the country and was not disappointed. Be prepared for a long day. With traffic and a backup due to an accident, it was 14 hours for us. Hotel pickup and drop-off were convenient. The bilingual tour guide was excellent. if you are full of questions as I am, sit close to the guide so you can get your questions answered enroute. I could not get connected to the bus offered wifi though, The first stop at the tourist souvenir shop was what you might expect. I'd pass on it if I could. The countryside was fascinating as we drove up over the mountains and saw rural homes, farms and ranches. Lots of nursery plants farmed. Lunch was efficient with our meal choices phoned in ahead. I'd not have the club sandwich again (fried egg, cucumber, and canned ham). 20 minutes to the volcano; a mile high cinder cone. Then a half hour to Baldi hot springs; a first class resort and water park. Then a long after-dark bus ride back to our hotels. It's a long day, but wonderful to see the CR countryside.
