Tortuguero Canals Including Playa Bonita and Puerto Limon Highlights
From USD 55.00
Low Price Guarantee
Overview
Experience Puerto Limon’s highlights—from the biodiverse Tortuguero Canals to the calm Playa Bonita—in as little as four hours on this shore excursion. Since you won’t have to worry about arranging transportation between destinations, you can relax while you hear informative commentary from your guide about Puerto Limon’s most popular attractions.
What to Expect
The tour begins as soon as you step off your cruise ship and your guide meets you with a sign. After taking a brief tour of the city and snapping photos from a scenic vista point, board an air-conditioned vehicle and head to the Tortuguero Canals for a 1-hour boat ride featuring the area’s many plants and animals.
Continue to a fruit stand and banana plantation to learn about some of Costa Rica’s biggest exports and sample fruits unique to tropical environments. Then, relax by the shore of Playa Bonita with free time to swim, sunbathe, or order fresh seafood from one of the beachfront restaurants.
The tour concludes with a brief stop at a supermarket to shop for goods like local coffee before dropping you off at the port.

Excellent small group excursion and also great value!

Excellent time and the tour guide Dani was excellent. Her commentary was very insightful. Our group was 8 in size and met at 8AM and returned to the ship around ~12:30-1PM. The highlight was the Canal where we got close-up to several sloths and saw...More

The canal was good, the boat conductor was very professional.

This tour's highlight was the canal to us. The boat conductor was really great at explaining where you see the iguanas, herons, birds...very peaceful. The beach was not that impressive due to weather and rough water but there is a free wifi at the restaurant...More

The plantations are closed to visitors so we just pulled off on the side of the road and our guide told us about the process. We ended up going to a very "local" restaurant on Playa Bonita which was fun a delicious. We did... More

Yes, this tour takes around 4 hours and your cruise ship arrives at 11 am (also it has already been in Puerto Limon this season, and it arrived earlier than scheduled) and it leaves at 19:00. There's plenty of time to return... More

Yes, it is usually part of the tour, but it can be skipped if you choose to. They receive US dollars (at the official exchange rate) but you would get the change in the national currency, Costa Rican colones. You can also... More
