This was so worth our time and money

We really enjoyed this tour. It was low-key (compared to the ziplining and rafting we did), which was a really pleasant way to spend an evening.

I took my son (10), who loves all things reptiles and amphibians, so he could see some of the well known fauna, and it did not disappoint.

Our tour guide, Juan, was so kind, knowledgeable, and friendly. His eyes are incredibly trained at finding the smallest little frogs. he even caught a glimpse of a really hard-to-find (and see) moth, along with an eyelash viper. The viper made my son's day.

Juan gave us tips on capturing great photos with our phones and even took a few for us- which turned out professional level.

This was probably the highlight of my trip...I did it three times!
An amazing tour led by extremely skillful and knowledgable people. Amazing learning experiences and perfect photo opportunities! I liked it so much I went three times. And each time I went, it was a totally different experience. I can’t thank these guides enough. They really know what they’re doing and how to keep a client satisfied.

An absolute must-do!

Oscar was a superb guide on the night frog watching tour. He found lots of different species including a red-eyed tree frog. That was the one that I most wanted to see and he enticed it out onto a branch where it stayed still and posed happily so that all of our group of six could take amazing close-up photos.

So many frogs!
Mar. 2020
This was an excellent tour. The path is through a private reserve with several ponds. We had a really rainy night, but they provide umbrellas and also flashlights. We used our own headlamps so our hands would be free for photos. We saw about 10 or 12 different frog species, including a ton of the famous red eyed tree frogs. There were plenty of great photo opportunities, but be aware that you're not allowed to use a flash. If you are traveling with someone else, it's a good idea to pick one person to be the camera person and have the other be in charge of lighting your subject with a flashlight or headlamp. In addition to the frogs, our guide found an eyelash pit viper and some cool insects. Highly recommend.

Amazing photo opportunities
Mar. 2020
We did the walk with Oscar. He is very knowledgeable and was able to find so many species of frog, insects and even a baby eyelash viper. He helped take some great photos of the iconic Costa Rican frogs. They provide flashlights and water. It’s not a very long walk by distance, and is complexity flat on easy paths. It takes about 2 hours to do the route as we moved very slowly to look for frogs. Highly recommended.
