Stop At: 1933 Old Millfun, No.10 Shajing Road, Hongkou District, Shanghai 200000 China

Located in the historic Hongkou District, 1933 Old Millfun Shanghai was built amidst the vibrant urban landscape of pre-communist Shanghai. Designed originally by British architects, and built in 1933 by Chinese developers, the building was originally intended for use as a slaughterhouse but served a number of purposes over the years from medicine factory, cold storage facility, to its current incarnation as a ‘commercial hub for creative industries’.

Stop At: The Bund (Wai Tan), Zhongshan East 1st Road, Shanghai China

The Bund is a symbol of Shanghai. It is a showcase of semi-colonial past of the city and its transformation in the new era. The Bund is an Anglo-Indian word for embankment. In Chinese, we usually call it Waitan. It is about 1500 meters long from north to south, running from Waibaidu Bridge to the Yan’an Road. There are 26 buildings stand together in a line, showing us a very fabulous city skyline. They were built mainly in the 1920s and the 1930s. These buildings are in many different kind of styles, ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign. No wonder the Bund is known as a “Gallery of World Architecture”. When night falls, these buildings look magnificent and charming, just like a giant Crystal Palace.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Huangpu River, Headstreams from Dianshan Lake, Zhujiajiao Town, Qingpu District, Shanghai 201700 China

The Huangpu River rises from Dianshan Lake and joins the Yangtze River at Wusong Mouth. The river is 114 kilometers long and 400 meters wide and 9 meters deep on average.

Huangpu River serves as the city’s shipping artery with a deep-water, all-season harbor. The river can accommodate vessels over 10,000 tons. There are 102 berths and 97 buoys on the river. Shanghai Port ranks the fourth in the world in terms of annual shipping volume. At present, Shanghai Port maintains trade ties with over 200 countries and regions in the world. If one shows great interest in the view along the Huangpu River, cruises may be preferable choice. Cruises include day cruises and night cruises.
