Best of Shanghai Day Tour, Including Jade Buddha Temple and The Bund
From USD 78.98
Overview

Shanghai is a frenetic, picturesque port city, home to both traditional silk weavers and cutting-edge fashionistas. Get a taste of both ancient and contemporary sides of the city on this comprehensive full-day guided tour, which covers more than 5,000 years of Chinese history, from Ming-era temples to sleek new waterfront towers. The tour is the perfect primer for first-time visitors to Shanghai, or anyone traveling on limited time.

What to Expect

This action-packed sightseeing tour begins with front-door pickup from your Shanghai hotel in an air-conditioned minivan.

At the 19th-century Jade Buddha Temple, a Qing dynasty landmark, your guide gives a rundown on 5,000 years of the history and culture of the fast-paced city. Learn how traditional handicrafts have been kept alive with a visit to the Fresh Water Pearl Gallery, where one lucky tour-goer even gets a free pearl to take home.

Mingle with locals at People's Square before perusing 12,000 artifacts at the Shanghai Museum. After a tasty local lunch, stop at the picturesque Yu (Yuyuan) Garden and stroll along the Bund, Shangai’s legendary waterfront.

Keep ticking off Shanghai highlights with a firsthand peek at the famous tree-lined boulevards of the French Concession district and the nightlife district of Xintiandi. Even first-time travelers will be Shanghai experts by the time they’re dropped back to their hotels.

English only

This was enjoyable for those understanding English. For us the museum visit of 1.30hrs was too long, very quickly one food vessel starts to look like all the others. The same goes for coins, calligraphy writing etc. There were not many interesting facts given just...More
