Itinerary
- 1You will be picked up from your central New Delhi hotel and driven to the forts of the Tughlaq Dynasty along with your English Speaking Guide. The story of this once powerful and cruel family will be shared by your historian guide. The region that was established by the Tughlaqs came to be known as Tughlaqabad, the third city of Delhi. Their unique style of architecture can be admired in regional buildings and monuments. The grand Tughlaqabad Fort was built in the early 14th century. The highest viewing platform of the fort is a citadel called Bijay Mandal. The Tughlaqabad Fort houses the tomb of Ghiyas-ud-Din Tughlaq, a structure that claims to be the first to use the combination of sandstone and marble. Adjacent to the Tughlaqabad Fort is the forgotten Adilabad Fort, often overshadowed by the grandeur of the Tughlaqabad Fort. Following the conclusion of your tour, you will be taken back to your hotel within New Delhi city center.

- Quest344957458810 contributionsWell worth it!We partook in the evening cookery class with Mr Singh and his chef. This was a highlight of our trip and our teenage son was really looking forward to this experience. We first set off to the vegetable and spice markets so learn about the foods used in our dishes and where they came from, negotiating the Jaipur traffic which was an experience in itself! We then took a short Tuk Tuk ride back to the homestay, where we cooked up dishes and then partook in a meal of our dishes. This was a really insightful and pleasant evening which we enjoyed immensely.Written 25 November 2024
