      Amazing! Not to be missed
Had my 4 AM Golden Temple tour with Ram today and it was the bestest start I could have to the day and to Amritsar. The tour which was supposed to be for 3 hours went on for 4.5 hours thanks to all the questions I had and Ram patiently answering all of them. It was an eye opening experience to learn so much more about Sikhism and the Sikh history and I am forever grateful for the experience.

Insightful tour with knowledgeable and amiable guide
Started the tour with pick-up from my hotel before day-break, straight to the Golden Temple, before the tourists got there. Amrit, my guide, explained the correct etiquette and what it means to be a Sikh. Fascinating stuff....as a westerner I got to ask all my questions. We spent hours there, touring the kitchens (best part for me), learning the meaning of the different coloured turbans and who does what. More earnestly, we visited the memorial to the martyrs of the 1984 attack by the soviet-backed Indian army. Later we went to Amrit's family farm....what an insight into ordinary life for a Punjabi farmer, including a ride on the ricketty old tractor. His mother and sister prepared a tasty lunch which I enjoyed immensely. Then off to the border for Beating of the Retreat. Again Amrit diligently steered me to the 'foreigners area' and told me the best ways in/out. The show itself (and that's exactly what it is) is a monumental re-working of Monty Pythons ministry of silly walks sketch. Preposterous posturing towards Pakistan, but entertaining none the less. A great day. Highly recommend.

      An amazing experience!
We did a two day private tour of Amritsar and the whole experience was incredible. The communication from the start was clear and our tour guide Amrit was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgable and fun. He created a bespoke tour for us covering the main sights along with hidden gems. His local knowledge made all the difference. If you’re looking for a great time in Amritsar, I would whole heartedly recommend Planet Amritsar. A local, trustworthy company whose focus is on creating the best experience!

A Must do while in Amritsar
We Booked a private tour and the whole experience was outstanding. Ram gave a very intuitive briefing getting us acquainted with the bikes as it had been a while since we rode. I think it was very smart to start early morning as there was no traffic we were able to make stops on our own convenience to take photos without a worry. There is so much history that you miss as a tourist and this tour helped us dive into it as we ventured into the old city's narrow lanes. we ended our tour with some tea and snacks. A 10/10 Experience overall.

      Amritsar Day Tour
Had an amazing day with Amrit doing the full day Amritsar tour. A long day but so worth doing. Tour of the Golden Temple including seeing the food preparation and kitchen's that wouldn't normally be seen was very special. We were made very welcome at Amrits family farm and were given a delicious lunch. The Wagah border ceremony was an amazing spectacle that should not be missed. I would highly recommend Planet Amritsar if you are looking for a great experience.

      Unforgettable visit to Amritsar!
What a fantastic way to visit Amritsar! Amrit was such a fantastic guide and friend over the 2 days we spent with him. He has a wealth of knowledge over Amritsar and shared with us many interesting stories about the city, it's history, as well as Sikhism and it's importance to the city. Booking through Karan was also seamless! My wife and I truly loved our stay in Amritsar, which became our favourite city in India, and Amrit's company definitely played a big role in this! Having backstage access to the Golden Temple, visiting Amrit's Punjab village and the crazy Wagah border ceremony are unforgettable memories that I'll definitely hold dear to. Do definitely go with Planet Amritsar when you're in town!

Deeply meaningful experience planned by fantastic guide
We’re a Sikh American family with no real ties to India and only one of us can speak Punjabi (and not fluently). We took our first trip to Amritsar with some trepidation and hired Planet Amritsar to help plan our trip. They exceeded our expectations in every way! Having a trustworthy, English speaking, very knowledgeable about Sikh history person (Amrit) guide us through Amritsar kept us from getting overwhelmed. Our teenagers got all their questions answered and we all learned so much. The behind the scenes tour of Darbar Sahib was incredible. Whether you’re someone (Sikh or non Sikh) who has never been to Punjab, Planet Amritsar will help make your dream itinerary come true and make suggestions on what to do or what to avoid. We remained healthy and ate very well (the food is so good!). We left Amritsar more deeply connected to our roots, grateful for the journey, and Amrit and his team had everything to do with the success of our trip- we couldn’t have done it without them! We’re thankful to have found them and will be back! Thank you, Amrit!

      Full day tour of Amritsar
My full day tour of Golden temple, Wagah border and other key places was an excellent experience. My guide Amrit explained the historical facts in detail and took me on a full tour inside the golden temple visiting each area. Wagah border experience was amazing too. I highly recommend the tour organiser and guide. Thanks for a memorable day in Amritsar.

A really enriching experience. We had the privilege of seeing history and sentiment through the eyes of a Sikh. Opened our eyes to the ways and the beauty of their way of life. Truly wow-ed by the simplicity and grace. Highly recommend you take this tour travelers - you will come back with an experience of a lifetime. Thank you Amrit, you were a marvelous guide.

      Great day in Amritsar
We had a great day with Amrit. Very informative on all the history and Sikhism in general. These were the 4 key things we wanted to see/do in Amritsar and this was a really easy way to see them all with an expert guide and without feeling rushed.

Amrit is an excellent and informative guide
Amrit was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and with excellent English. He taught us a lot about the Sikh religion and the history of the region. The visit to the temple kitchens where they feed 100,000 visitors per day with the help of many volunteers was fascinating.

My experience with this company was exceptional—I’d say it was my highest experience in New Delhi. They were prompt, eff
New Delhi offered an unforgettable journey through history and vibrant culture. The Red Fort showcased stunning Mughal architecture, while the towering Qutub Minar impressed with its intricate carvings. Strolling through the peaceful greenery of Lodhi Gardens provided a refreshing break. Each place had its own charm, blending history with serenity. The bustling markets added a lively contrast, with colors, scents, and sounds that brought the city to life. A knowledgeable guide made it easy to experience each highlight fully, capturing the essence of New Delhi in just a few spots.

Fantastic trip with a super guide.
fantastic trip with the super fantastic guide. Highly recommend. Amrit is the guide to go with. He not only knows the history of India, Punjab, Sikhism and interesting stories but he is a genuine part of the Sikhs’ community. You may easily learn a lot about the Golden Temple, see its different living parts and learn how is operating thanks to an army of volunteers. The visit to the temple, discussion with Amrit was a gem of the visit in Amirtsar. If you are interested in seeing the Wagah-Attari flag ceremony in a very convenient way, Amrit makes it possible in very convenient way. Definitely a trip with Amrit is a must-do experience.

This was an amazing tour! I was in Amritsar for five days and had visited the Golden Temple several times on my own, but visiting it together with a very knowledgeable and passionate guide was still an amazing experience. I learnt a lot and my guide was very happy to answer any questions I had.

The Golden Temple is an amazing experience even on your own, but this is just such an excellent opprtunity to learn more about Sikhism and Punjab's history. I would really recommend this tour to anyone visiting Amritsar, the guide's knowledge and experience makes it more than worth the money!

We were treated to a magnificent experience of the Golden Temple, thanks to the riveting story-telling and navigation by Amrit of Planet Amritsar. Seeing the resplendent temple and precincts by dawn was so visually overwhelming, it brought tears to our eyes. The evocative ritual of the Guru Granth Sahib being carried from His nightly resting place to the main prayer area of the temple was a devotional delight. Amrit elaborately shared the history and philosophy of the Sikh religion and answered our many questions with depth of knowledge. We even got to go inside the world’s largest kitchen. The prayer room visit as well as the langar will remain etched in our memory for a lifetime. We felt the divine power throughout the 3 hour tour and came out blessed and spiritually energised. It is an unmissable experience, highly recommended with a guide like Amrit in tow.
We were asked to assemble at the Golden Fountain at the Temple entrance at 4 am. I would suggest that Planet Amritsar includes a pickup from and drop back to the hotel. It would make the whole experience more complete and tension-free.

We booked a visit to the Harmandir Sahib/Golden Temple with a tour of the temple and a visit to the kitchen with an introduction on how we could volunteer there.

Amrit was an amazing guide - incredibly friendly, interested in us, extremely knowledgeable (not only as a practicing sikh, but also on the history of the temple and the Punjab at large). He explained every part of the temple complex and its significance for the sikh faith and community as well as patiently answering every question we had about the religion, culture and everything in between.

The 2 1/2 hours just flew by and at the end he introduced us to the big communal kitchen, showing us every station, room etc and teaching us about the philosophy of communal service to the sikh. We ended up volunteering for two days and made a lot of great connections, even without speaking the same language as the other volunteers. Thank you Amrit for introducing us to this wonderful world!

Just to give you an idea on how good his tour was: on our second day of volunteering, we as two westerners were showing a sikh around the kitchen because we knew it better than her - all thanks to Amrit.

Thank you again to Planet Amritsar for the great experience and I can only recommend everyone visiting Amritsar to book a tour with them to fully experience and understand the Harmandir Sahib/Golden Temple and the sikh religion, rather than just going there for pretty pictures.

Amritpal Singh (our guide over two days in Amritsar) has built a business by word of mouth with his college mates and I can well understand how he’s done it.

He’s very knowledgeable and this aspect came across aptly when he took my husband and I on a wonderfully curated ‘Golden Temple Experience.’

From the moment he picked us up from our hotel, he explained to us the rich history of the city & also gave us a deep insight into ‘Sikhism’ & their way of life apart from narrating various incidents and anecdotes related to the Temple and its surroundings. How much one wishes to retain or listen to is entirely up to them. I thoroughly enjoyed the chronological order in which he explained everything and put things into perspective right upto modern times.

The back kitchen tour of the temple was a wonderful surprise and an experience in itself which is not to be missed.

On the way back to our hotel (ITC Raja Sansi) he gave us a beautiful historical account of the Raja who originally owned this heritage property and his wife, the ‘Sansi’ which was well worth listening to.

Day two was a visit to the deeply moving Jallianwala Bagh Memorial. Amritpal possesses a wealth of knowledge and explained to us the events leading to this tragic moment in our history and our fight for Independence from British rule. This was followed by a visit to the spectacularly curated Partition Museum which we could’ve done on our own as it mostly involves a lot of reading and is quite self explanatory.

The Food walk thereafter, was delightful and fulfilling indeed. Amritpal guided us through narrow gullys of shops lined on either side and through avenues one wouldn’t normally visit as a tourist. We savoured one local delicacy after the other at each carefully chosen spot on this food walk.

Old Amritsar has its own charm & atmosphere and Amritpal expertly lets you to experience the spiritual side along with the regular side of this bustling & historic city.

His tour is more experiential and not the ‘run of the mill’ tourist attraction which one normally gets to experience while visiting a new city.

I highly recommend his company and the experiences he provides.

The experience was truly exceptional; the way Amritpal explained the culture and history of Golden Temple, I came away with genuine admiration for Sikhs and their way of life. I was also blown away by Amritpal's passion and knowledge on the subject.

He let us ask any questions, answered them with patience and grace, showed us the kitchen area, and made us understand what goes into preparing meals for 100 thousand daily.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to know more about the Golden Temple; you won't be disappointed.

What an amazing experience. Planet Amritsar was recommend to us by a friend and we must say that their service was simply outstanding from the hotel pickup to drop off. Amrit has a wide knowledge and being a Sikh him self, made the all experience amazing. He even took us behind the scenes of the worlds biggest kitchen too. The Golden Temple it self including the early morning ceremony was breathtaking. If you are coming to Amritsar, it's a must and so is to use Planet Amritsar. The experience, pics and image will stay with us forever. Thank you Amrit.

The sights, sounds & smells of the beautiful Golden Temple complex are a fully immersive experience. It was made all the more special having Amritpal to fill us in on the fascinating history & culture of Sikhism. It was great to gain access to the kitchens & food preparation areas. The highlight was the stunning sight of the glittering Golden Temple as the sun set.

    Really our tour was memorable..
Amrit is a master storyteller and you will witness it in the first 5 minutes of the experience.
His crash course on sikhism is a perfect subtle way to introduce you to his religion. We talked about so many things and asked him so many questions and he answered every single one of them. This is a must do experience for first time visitors.
    Thanks....

Amrit was amazing - big shout out and thank you to him for such a fantastic day, very friendly and welcoming!

We had a great time chatting away together and getting to see all of the sights Amritsar has to offer with true local knowledge behind them.

Planet Amritsar are the company to go with in my opinion, their prices are very reasonable and the quality of guide was one of the best I’ve had, plus they were able to accommodate my last minute booking and changes. Really communicative throughout also.

I was in India for an entire month and on my very last day I booked this tour with Amrit. Halfway through the tour I had already made up my mind that he was the best tour guide I'd had in India. Amrit is a well of both spiritual and historical knowledge, which comes from his own ongoing religious and intellectual journey. On top of that, he is an excellent storyteller and even as someone who woke up at 3:30 am for this tour, I felt deeply engaged throughout. I walked away from the tour feeling I had gained so much perspective on Sikhism and the Golden Temple, as well as a deep yearning to learn even more. I can't recommend this tour highly enough!!
