- Trail590984759860 contributionsStunning views, you will learn so much from Raja’s expansive knowledge, 100% recommend for a day in Munnar! Our guide Raja was absolutely amazing! We had the best time walking through the tea plantations with regular stops where he explained how the tea was cultivated and harvested. He pointed out so many medicinal plants and flowers on the way. We walked the 7 hills with beautiful views over Munnar with a stop for tea and biscuits and a stop for lunch which was homemade by Raja and his wife. Walked through spice gardens before heading back through more tea plantations. Would highly recommend the full day trek with Raja, you will learn so much and have the best time! Thank you King Raja! 🙏Written 14 January 2025

He had amazing insights and facts about the plants, animals and history of the area. There were also plenty of opportunities to stop and admire the stunning views. I would highly recommend going on this hike and particularly with Raja J.Written 13 January 2025

They were very friendly and explained a lot of interesting things about tea plantations, right from weather conditions to harvesting to pruning to tea production inside the plant. O would definitely recommend!! Moreover, the nature is too beautiful around the plantations.Written 11 January 2025

- jurjenr20250 contributionsA nice tripThe tour gives first an explanation about tea within the tea plantation, which is very pretty. Then the tour continues at the factory, where you see how the tea leaves are processed. Only point of criticism is that the guides are sometimes hard to understand.Written 10 January 2025
- FernandaBRAZIL_130 contributionsKerala cuisine secretsI recommend everyone try the experience of learning a little about some of Kerala's delicious dishes. Our teacher was the young and friendly Anagha. She welcomed us very well and showed us in a clear and didactic way how to make six vegetarian dishes. Before we went to the kitchen, Anagha talked about some foods and their nutritional importance. At the end we had a delicious and healthy dinner. I just suggest that we have the recipes written down. There are many processes and having the recipes would make it easier for us to reproduce them.Written 10 January 2025
- FernandaBRAZIL_130 contributionsAmazing TourI highly recommend the Anakulam wild elephant village tour. In this tour, we pass through truly stunning landscapes of tea plantations between mountains and beautiful waterfalls and rivers. We also see large plantations of cardamom, coffee, rubber plantations, etc. My guide was Abbas, an excellent driver, very calm and polite. He was very careful with me and on the way. He stopped at special points for photos and talked a little about the plantations and regional customs. I learned a few words in Malayalam from Abbas. In the end, we finally saw an elephant, which came to drink water and cool off. The whole trip was so worth it. It was a beautiful day. Thank you very much Manoj, who made this tour possible and the guide Abbas.Written 10 January 2025

- krishnapH6987PS0 contributionsBeautiful sunrise hike through plantationsThe sunrise in munnar was one of the best I’ve ever seen! Mani was very nice and a great driver. All our friends really enjoyed the hike and the view. The walk back through the plantations was amazing. We stopped at a few spots on the way back and that helped with the winding roads but definitely be sure to have motion sickness remedies available if you’re prone. I would definitely recommend! book a massage at your hotel after to rest from your early day!Written 6 January 2025
- tw900 contributionsThe best safari trip in keralaThis was by far the best safari/tour that we took whilst on our travels around kerala. Our guide Mani was really helpful and informative for the whole tour. His driving was also excellent and very reassuring! Would highly recommend this trip. The highlight was seeing the elephant at the end.Written 6 January 2025

Wonderful walk through beautiful plantations with explanations from a friendly guide. Requires average fitness (it is an uphill walk). By the time we reached the top of the hill, the sun was setting quickly so the guide hailed a tuk tuk to take us back down, instead of walking, as he said it’s safer than walking on the road in the dark. Wasn’t expecting that but it was no big deal. The tuk tuk cost just a buck or two. We were just two couples so it was nice and intimate. Unfortunately the other couple didn’t tip the guide and we felt that was poor form. These people barely eke out a living. Great experience with great photo ops. Highly recommended!

Raja took us on a short hike through the tea plantation next to the Munnar Info point. He shared with us his knowledge of the local herbs and plants that we encountered on our hike and explained the history behind the tea plantation and the harvesting and processing of the tea leaves. It was super interesting and we enjoyed our hike through the beautiful landscape. Raja is also a great photographer and took some very nice pictures of us during sunset on top of the hill. The tour lasted ~2h, and we highly recommend it!

We were unable to participate in this walk to our great disappointment as tropical rain set in prior. We therefore cancelled 45 minutes before the start time by Whatsapp to which we did not get a reply. Followed by 2 phonecalls which were not answered and an email. Also unanswered.
We had asked the walk organisers to arrange a taxi to pick us up. They infact organised a tuk tuk which they did not cancel but sent 10 minutes early and messaged us to say it had arrived and was outside our hotel! By the time we reachedthe hotel reception the Tuk Tuk had disappeared.
Inefficient or sharp practice, I am not sure which. (We never did receive any acknowledgement of our cancellation.)

Absolute scam, booked on line ,got confirmation , proceeded to the meeting point as per the site location identified on Google Maps before 4.30pm as the tour was scheduled to start @ 4.30, local driver took me to the start point, waited 15 mins, nobody showed up. Even asked locals about this trip, no one knew anything,so left.
So then i get a text and call about the trip @ 5.02 pm with a new location point which was about another 30 mins away. The tour was from 4.30pm to 6.30 pm....so how was i to make it if you are sending me a new location at 5.00pm ? Huh . Requested a refund , dont think they are going to give back anything!!

A delightful, well-paced evening walk of about 6km, though up and across the valley, through the nearby village, so we saw how daily life was unfolding at the end of the day and then through the vividly green tea plantations. We were a small group of 4, and we were all provided with a litre of water before we set off. The guide was well-informed about nature, the local customs and history, the hydro-electric schemes and also about tea cultivation and processing. He loves walking and his enthusiasm for the area and the environment was evident. Much of the first half of the walk was uphill, which made for many stunning views and great look out points across different parts of the valley. Even though the sunset disappeared behind mist at the crucial point, this didn't spoil the walk. The flowering jacaranda, African tulip trees and the coral trees provided lots of colour. The last part was along roads in the dusk, and he guided us safely along them to the starting point.

This was an excellent short tour in a tea plantation close to Munnar. Our guide Mari was very friendly and knew everything there is to know about tea production and the local plants. The sun setting over the tea fields was beautiful. He picked us up, and dropped us off from our accomodation for a small extra charge.

We did a sunset walk with Raja & it was the highlight of our time in Munnar. He is very knowledgeable & informative & we learnt so much about the area, and especially the flora and fauna. Raja is very kind, patient and has great energy ensuring that we were learning, enjoying and relaxing at the same time. Bonus: he has great photo skills! It was such a fun experience & we wish we had met him earlier to do more trekking with him. Hopefully we will be back. Cannot recommend him enough. Make sure you ask for Raja!

We had a very pleasant experience on this walk. Our guide Mari was very helpful, and gave us a lot of information as we walked through the plantation. He took great pictures of us which was a wonderful bonus. Also received assistance getting back to our accomodation, which was highly appreciated as two female travellers.
The walk itself is not strenuous, and the pace is nice and slow. The views at the top are worth it. Unfortunately due to the weather we could not see the actual sunset, but the walk was still very worth it.
