A lovely tour with a friendly knowledgeable guide..Francisco
Our tour guide Francisco was friendly, fluent in English and very familiar with his city. He arrived at our hotel (Oro Verde) on time with a big smile on his face. We discussed what we wanted to do. We did some bird watching in 2 spots, took a gondola ride, went to the city center and drove around the different neighborhoods. Francisco shared tidbits about history, education, celebrations and geography. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Francisco and highly recommend him.

Don't pay extra for the experience!
Pretty rubbish really, staff miserable and limited (non existent) veggie food, was really looking forward to a nice relax before a long flight with KLM, business class needs to be a better experience than this. Not impressed.

        Unforgettable tour!
I had a great experience during my Otavalo tour. Francisco, our tour guide, was excellent. He was personable, Knowledgeable, and courteous! He truly made my experience unforgettable.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. If you are not a priority pass member it cost $41 to enter. You do not get two free drinks and the food is mediocre at best. It is very disappointing and to be honest the regular airport has better seats. I assumed it was the same as Quito. My mistake. One I will never make again. Just avoid it and get wine at a dozen kiosks.

Excellent City Tour with Antonio through Viator
Antonio showed us all around the city from the Iguana Park to the Malecon to Las Penas. He was interesting and knowledgeable and a delightful tour guide. Thank you for sharing your passion for your city and your history. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

        Food terrible
We had a lounge pass as an extra on our package holiday to Ecuador and the Galapagos for the journey back home. The lounge is like a fridge firstly, nice to have air-conditioning but not that cold. The food was like school dinners, tiny sandwiches wrapped in cling film, soggy cheese biscuits and salad past its best. The puddings were dry and pretty tasteless. No veggie options in the sandwiches. Portions were so small you had to keep going up to get a decent amount. Toilets were nice and hot chocolate was good. Don't waste your money on this lounge.

        Excellent guide and driver
I was expecting a bus load of other tourists, but my tour turned out to be a private one in a comfortable van. The guide was both interesting and informative, and he showed up at my hotel exactly on time. I highly recommend this three-hour tour.

        Very Good Introduction to Guayaquil
I was the only person to take the afternoon tour, so the feeling was more intimate than it might have been with a larger group; it was just like strolling and driving around with a friend. Angel did a great job of showing off some of the highlights of the city, and also of explaining how much the city has improved in recent years, with many new parks, playgrounds, museums and cultural activities. Touring the city with him gave me a sense of how the city feels to its residents, not only to the tourists who visit for a day or two.

        Historical figures explained and more
Really interesting tour, with great background knowledge. Further ideas given for you to try on your own eg walk up the 444 steps to Santa Ana and enjoy magnificent views over Guayaquil. Good knowledge of flowers and birds you might see eg hummingbirds. Well worth it and gentle exercise too.

        A fantastic natural area
Angel Yunda picked us up at our hotel on time for this wonderful tour. He answered our questions as we ambled to each of the animals featured along the board walk. Additionally, he took us to view the inside of the historical buildings at the park which were quite a treasure! He waited patiently as I snapped pictures in this relaxing environment. It almost felt like he was part of our family. The monkeys were so entertaining! The red mangroves were the tallest I had ever seen!

A depressing ending to a wonderful trip
The lounge experience is not great. I'm travelling KLM business, so should get access, but no. They send me to the gate to get an invitation. Unsurprisingly the security person at the gate has no idea what is required and sends me back to the lounge, where somehow this time, despite not having the requisite piece of paper, I am allowed in. Prior to arriving, i check: yes, they have a shower. Great! I make a beeline for the shower, it's in the disabled toilet and the door is closed. I wait. Is it rude to try the door again? I don't want to hassle a disabled user.... Eventually I ask. Turns out the door is simply locked (at this point I'm glad I'm not disabled and needing to pee). They give me a towel and unlock the door. You know I said it was the same space as the toilet? Yep, there is no way of getting in and out of the shower without putting your bare feet around the toilet area. C'mon lounge, how about a bathmat? The hot water ain't hot, it's handheld only, there's only soap and shampoo, there's no hairdryer and you have to step out around the toilet. All in all, a bit gross, which is such a shame as the rest of Ecuador has been sparkly clean and wonderful. The rest of the lounge is OK. Not bad, not great, but all in all not the last memories I wanted of an otherwise wonderful trip.

        Great history of the city
I think these all depend on your guide. We had Matthew and he was great. Many places were closed because of the holiday. We did get to see a lot more of the city. Due to closures, we cut our time short by an hour. It is amazing how much we learned in this short time. I would suggest if you are going there, do this tour first and then you will know areas you want to go back to visit more in depth.

Guyaquil City Tour - VERY RECOMMENDABLE - also for CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS
Having "Guayaquil / Ecuador" as a port of call on our cruise, we neither wanted to buy some over priced shore excursions on board our cruise ship, nor did we want to just walk around the Town. So, in advance, we booked the 3 hour "Guayaquil City Tour". The booking procedure and payment was very easy. As meeting point we agreed on the Continental Hotel right next to the Seminario Park. This, by the way, is the place where the cruise ship shuttle will drop you off. Our guide ANGEL was already waiting for us. The first part of the tour was a walking tour: Seminario Park, also known as Bolivar Park, the Malecon,  Moorish Tower, City Hall, Rotonda Monument, various historic buildings and churches. The second part of the tour was a sightseeing tour by car (modern, clean, safe): Malecon, Las Penas, various neighbourhoods including the very sophisticated gated communities where the wealthy people live. Our very friendly and knowledgeable, perfect English speaking Guide ANGEL gave us a deep insight into this town, its history and into the daily life of the people here. So, if you are on a cruise and want to spend the day in Guayaquil, TAKE THIS TOUR !
