About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- riverf5800 contributionsNot good at allTour guide Showed up an hour late, rushed every site we went to. Was told a 4 hour long experience. Did a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes. Honestly I got ripped off. The worst thing is that I don’t care if it’s late… just let me know that you are running late so I don’t stand on the side of the road (pickup location) for an hour. Waste of my timeWritten 31 December 2024
- Chuan8990 contributionsVery average tour - lots of waiting aroundOur guide was a great guy, but we found the tour distinctly average with little to no explanation of the favela and more like a stroll through the streets, popping into a number of supermarkets. There was also an internal issue with Jeeptour which meant we spent an hour waiting for an additional 4 tourists, which was quite a waste of time.Written 16 October 2024
- luizhenriqueo4810 contributionsPlease, read this before choose this companyTravelling is always a great experience, but it requires thorough planning to make the right choices for your destination, ensuring you avoid significant issues along the way. With that in mind, I believe you should consider a different company than this one. Navigating Rio de Janeiro, which naturally has chaotic traffic, demands extra attention when it comes to safety. Unfortunately, safety is not the strong suit of this company. Their vehicles are quite old and frequently suffer from maintenance problems, sometimes necessitating a change of vehicle mid-tour, which can result in losing precious hours of your holiday. With minimal maintenance and hardly any safety measures, it’s risky to be transported in the back of an old vehicle. This company has a reputation for offering little to no support. Despite being established for years, their management is amateurish, often making questionable decisions. They charge customers heavily while paying their employees very little. Many of their workers aren’t officially registered, with most receiving under-the-table payments, well below market rates—some earn less than 15 US dollars for half a day’s work. While they overcharge customers, they significantly underpay staff. Their workforce is mostly male, and the management is known for being aggressive. It has been reported that they routinely harass and intimidate their unregistered workers, belittling their concerns. Recently, more than three individuals stopped working for the company due to inappropriate behaviour and aggressive management. Although some of their staff are kind and competent, others are questionable at best. The company’s high employee turnover adds another layer of insecurity, which is hardly ideal for someone trying to relax on holiday. Overall, this service does not align with the spirit of Rio de Janeiro’s hospitality. If you’re looking for a tour, I highly recommend choosing a more professional and well-run company to ensure a safer and more enjoyable experience. Companies like Grey Line (for an international perspective and reliability) or 40 Graus (if you prefer local and well-managed services) are far better choices. They treat their staff with more dignity and respect, and you’ll likely have a far better experience than with this company.Written 6 October 2024
- W5271VAlaurences0 contributionsa drive and walk in the forest Tijuca National Parkthe driver arrived on time, the Guide spoke good english, was helpful, sat in the back as we spent 1/2 hours touring the city picking up people, he broke the ice and got us all chatting it was an tour in English. It was a 12 seater we all had seat belts, he answered questions on the way, got ot and walked with us. history and culture of the parks, we did not see many Animals, but he kept us away from the other groups, I understand there are about 50 "jeep tours"a day. we were mostly just our group, you got a chance to swim, or climb the mountain to the cave. it stated to rain at the end of the triop so we stopped and he put the cover on. its a open back with no roof so you get to see the forest, feel the humidity, but once you are moving its comfotable, its all roads, so you dont require a 4wd, but it was fun, I think its a "must do" if its not raining Gabriel is a good english speaker and guide, I would be happy to do another trip with himWritten 20 February 2024
- TravelingVK0 contributionsGreat tour! This is one of the best tours I have done! It was small (only 6 people plus the guide) which made for a personalized tour. The jeep itself is fun with great views all over the city, covering Christ the Redeemer, Santa Teresa, and the Tijuca forest. Sergio is an amazing guide! Would absolutely come again.Written 30 November 2023
- yy75850 contributionsBeware! We were picked up by Paulo and the driver from Ipanema and taken on the tour. The main highlight that we booked for was to go into the waterfall and I had messaged them before being picked up to ask if we should wear our costumes under our day clothes. They replied yes. We got to the waterfall and were told we couldn't go in. No explanation why. I messaged the company after and they said we were taken to the waterfall.....I asked why we hadn't gone in and they repeated that Paulo said we were taken. To this day I have no idea why we didn't go in and feel as though we didn't get what we paid for. Please can someone reply to my messages!Written 8 November 2023
- mgcoward0 contributionsDisappointing ExperienceUnfortunately this tour gave very little extra to the previous tours that were provided as part of our package ie a full days city tour. We covered the same ground as the day before which was mainly heavy slow moving traffic. When we did get to the National Park area there was little on offer. We walked through well trodden paths through the forest and saw a giant slug! Little or no other moving creatures or interesting flora. We visited a water fall which was picturesque but having just been to Iguazu Falls was not a wow. The viewing stops gave an overview of Copacabana Beach and Bay but again we had been up Sugar loaf mountain and to visit Christ the redeemer so this was not much different. Our guide was lovely and she gave loads of information as we went along but overall poor value for money for what really amounted to a trip in a jeep through heavy traffic and a bit of National Park. If you were travelling independently and had not had other visits then you could view this differently.Written 1 November 2023
- 1982tajana0 contributionsAmazing experienceThe guide George was excellent! We went with 2 kids ( 3y,5y). It was amazing experience for life. I would do everything all over again! Thank you! Best regards from Croatia!Written 29 October 2023
- EsllindaB0 contributionsTake a look at the other sideThis was billed as a shared tour, but it was only the two of us. We were looking forward to this fall as we had taken a similar tour in India. The tour was good but could be described more accurately. Yes, one is driven to the top more or less, but actually you have to walk upon additional ½ km -- not bad if it weren't so challenging in terms of sidewalks, steps, and traffic. The walk to return to the jeep which is described is not too bad, but the steps w/o rails make it challenging for some. Plus the traffic requires finesse, but it's walkable. The description of the tour says it includes a visit to a samba school but that didn't happen. Apparently it's a weekend thing, but had I known that, I would have looked for samba elsewhere. Also, the Brazilian martial arts demo wasn't really part of the tour, as stated. We did catch 5 minutes of a practice, but nothing more. Our tour guide was pleasant and funny but didn't have a depth of knowledge as to community businesses, schools, etc. We liked the tour though because it showed a different side of Rio that we had while staying in Copacabana.Written 27 October 2023

- Mark L0 contributionsAmazing tour - highly recommendThis tour was the highlight of our visit to Rio. Carlo was an incredible guide, so enthusiastic and helpful. He made a special effort to ensure our tour included the best spots for photographs and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Carlo is the best tour guide we have ever had. Maya the driver was also very friendly and helpful. Carlo was so interested in our trip and gave us top tips for our next destinations. We loved seeing the city and the jungle, and Carlo had so many interesting facts to share. We loved it all. The views from the Chinese Pagoda were amazing, and even better than the views from Christ the Redeemer. Thank you so much to Carlo and Maya for this incredible tour. We would like to make a special mention to Carlo, who ensured that we savoured every moment of the tour. I don’t think we have ever ended a tour by hugging the guide! He really felt like one of the family and we were genuinely sorry to have to leave him.Written 10 August 2023
- RudeBoy120 contributionsVery enjoyable tripWe went to Tijuana Forest with Jeep Tours and had a wonderful trip. The open top jeep picked us up on time from our hotel in Leme and George, our guide (who speaks several languages fluently) gave us a fabulous insight into some of the history of Rio along with some very amusing jokes which mainly were at the expense of the Argentinians! The tour around the forest was very insightful with George’s knowledge of the botany second to none and although we were warned that we may not see any animals it was a little disappointing not to come across the odd sloth or two. The views over Rio from the Chinese View simply incredible. The next day our hotels reception called our room to inform us that I had dropped my debit card in the jeep and that the jeep company were going to return it to the hotel. I had realised that I had lost my card but was totally unaware that I had taken it on the tour with me. I was overcome by the honesty of the guys running the tour and by the fact that they returned it to the hotel for me and in my opinion this gesture disproves a little Rio’s undeserved reputation as a city where crime is rife. - R6177FIalisont0 contributionsHighly recommendA fabulous tour that showed us the social structure of Rio. You travel in an open top jeep and then walk up and down many steps. We felt very safe and appreciated the knowledge and courtesy of both the driver and guide. The trip back along the beachfront was spectacular.Written 27 June 2023
