- jact20130 contributionsAmazing stadiumGreat visit to the stadium. The only small negative comment I would have is the length of time taken in the queue for taking the penalties. It is mostly children who use this option so going forward I think they should think about a quicker way to do this. We waited over half an hour with 7, 5 and 3 year old children who were very restless. Overall we enjoyed the experience and the staff very very welcoming.Written 6 October 2024
- Cojoncio0 contributionsBrilliantFirst of all, do not think it is dangerous to come here. It is not. There is a dedicated walkway from the metro station directly to the stadium where you can walk in complete safety. For me it was a brilliant experience to come here, not so much for the exhibits which were not always that interesting. But this is one of the world's most famous and iconic football stadiums, and just to be able to sit in the stands and view the pitch and the stadium and remember all the history of this place from the "maracanazo" of 1950 up to the recent world cup and Olympic games and remember Pele and Garrincha and Jairzinho and all the great players who have played here, wow, it was just overwhelming.Written 1 September 2024
- vykye20000 contributionsIconic Stadium! On a recent visit to Rio with my son, managed to get tickets for the semi finals of the Carioca Cup! The Brazilians really know how to support their teams!! The atmosphere was electric, fans very entertaining, chanting, singing and mostly on their feet during the match. They were changing roles btw fans, referees, cheerleaders, VAR analysts etc. I really enjoyed the match (1st time to watch any football match) even though it was poring with rain. The Stadium is massive from what I saw on the day!Written 21 March 2024
- bestsZagreb0 contributionsexceptionalvery interesting site especially for people who are aware of the history of the football. the design of the stadium is exceptional.Written 3 March 2024
- Arthurlobo0 contributionsVery poor tour. The worst stadium tour I've ever been. There is no guide at all. They just let you in, following a "circuit", in 5 areas, with no guides, with just a few information written in the signs. The museum with shirts, balls and etc, very poor. The only highlight is to be able to seat in the seats of the stadium. I am used to go to Corinthians Stadium tour, Athletico Paranaense, Estádio Nacional de Brasilia. They are all completely different, much better. Also the tour in Maracana is very expensive for what is offered. Honestly, the stadium deserves a much better experience. I do not recomend to any one, unless you want to loose money and time.Written 1 November 2023
- Stevetarn20140 contributionsFantastic ExperienceWe initially did the tour of the stadium with the gate for this being conveniently located at the bottom of the ramp of the station. The tour itself was ok, probably 4 out of 5 stars. It is a self guided tour which has pros and cons. You could take things at your own pace but on the flip side there is a lot of reading to do. We wanted to buy tickets for the match the same week but annoyingly the ticket office is located all the way round the other side of the stadium. We managed to get two tickets at a reasonable price without too much fuss, although you will need ID to purchase if a foreign visitor. The match itself was a great experience, being right in the middle of the passionate fans. We left the game a few minutes early to catch the train back to Ipanema which was easy. Would recommend to any football enthusiast.Written 31 July 2023
- ldye0 contributionsDangerous area when games aren’t onCame on Wednesday in May for a tour so incredibly quiet. Someone tried to rob us outside, its a very dodgy area!!! Stadium was ok. If you like football and that sort of thing. There are people selling well overpriced tickets (original ticket price R$30, upsold at R$250) in and around the stadium. People stand on seats during the entire match and let off fireworks during the game. Mood of crowd very happy and ebullient.Written 14 June 2023
- inabigcountry0 contributionsFantastic once in a lifetime experienceFantastic one in a lifetime experience, with an excellent and interesting museum. The staff was very helpful. the only minus was that it was a pity that, offering for a price the opportunity to kick a penalty in the pitch with a goalkeeper provided, it's only about a penalty kicked in a smaller goal just outside the rectangular, what a pity.Written 28 May 2023
- cosmaso20200 contributionsExcellent for Soccer enthusiastsWe visited during a weekday. There is a museum with displays honoring Brazilian soccer greats and history. For an additional fee, you get to experience scoring a goal on the pitch (actually a side pitch not the actual football pitch), getting a medal, and giving a press conference (simulated). Enjoyed the experience. Gift shops are pricey but have nice mementos for purchaseWritten 18 March 2023

Tour is fine if you are a die-hard Real Madrid fan. The tour of the locker room, the dugout, and the press room were highlights. However, after such a high price for entry, they should not be trying to beg for more money during the tour. Everyone on the tour is pressured into taking 2 photographs at 2 different points which slows down the tour. I had no interest in a photo with a trophy or with a player, yet I was forced to wait while others had their picture taken. This was annoying and unbecoming of one of the biggest clubs in the world. I realize that they have to pay the players a lot of money, but I paid my share by the cost of the tour. Maybe next year you will have to pay money to urinate next to a hologram of Karim Benzema...

To begin with, there is NO information about anything anywhere. I had to ask some random person on the street where I could visit the stadium. In the meantime, some hustlers were trying yo sell me tickets - I figured this might be official since, once again, there is no information anywhere. You have to pass a barrier at an entrance with no information before you can proceed to buy a ticket. They have so many employees, bur most of them do absolutely nothing. Again, no information about the tour or prices or anything. The woman at the counter was incredibly slow - probably because she was on her phone while dealing with customers. I did not know how much I had paid for this tour. But where they do do a good job is in insisting that you take one of those photos so that they can overcharge you for it at the end. I was in and out in 15mins. Apart from the stadium itself, they have old shirts and weird foot moulds of various players. What an incredible waste of time and money. Legendary stadium, sure, but this tour is by far the worst thing I have done in Rio. HOW is this one of the top rated attractions? It is also difficult to get to. Avoid, avoid, avoid

Very bad tour, especially compared to other stadiums I've visited!
No employee accompanies you, nothing is monitored/guided! It's definitely not worth the price paid and there are much more beautiful stadiums in Brazil. I do not recommend!

Visited today with a guide service and about 8 others, mainly Brazilians. I found the stadium nothing special but the museum was well put together and organized. I would definitely like to see what's its like when it's packed with the famous Flamengo team playing..

I took the Monitored Tour with admission included at Maracanã, on one of the tourist tours in Rio de Janeiro. He had not returned to the stadium after the renovation it underwent. I confess that I liked the old internal architecture more than the new one. The external one, being listed, remains the same. But the stadium is still very beautiful and well maintained and the experience of visiting it is interesting.

Iconic stadium that can be visited in part by paying 70 reals. There’s the traditional photo on the way home, the footballers’ footprints, the different outfits of the Brazilian team, the flags of the local teams, the dressing rooms and the entrance to the pitch to climb into the stands. This last part is very degraded, the steps are broken g**** because the coating eqt missing or lifts, the seats are from another time, quite a lot of rust here and there. Souvenir shop and fast food outlet.

Ugly building, dirty toilets. Interesting history of (mostly) Brazilian soccer players and of the stadium itself plus a glimpse into changing rooms. Stadium itself is uncared for and showing obvious signs of aging. I’d suggest attending a game would be a much better way to experience this stadium.

We went last week, we arrived at the last tour in only 30 minutes, everything was super fast. It was more of a waiting line to enter than what happened inside the stadium. but without a doubt very beautiful.

I've already made several visits to stadiums here or outside Brazil and I confess that I expected more from Maracanã. To begin with, they charge a lot (66 reais) for a visit without a guide. You are isolated and there is not much to look at, except for the pitch, inside the stadium what you can see most is the frames of famous players' feet.

Very good experience; the trace e is in groups.
The strange thing is that they don't sell souvenirs from the stadium or the Brazil team; only from the teams there. Flamenco and Fluminense. He mentioned this because he was hoping to buy some souvenirs from the selection and there are very very few things.
There is parking and it is located at door A
