Not a Jeep Ride
Jul. 2021
We loved the jeep and our tour guide/driver was great. The only downside is that due to COVID, the jeeps can't go into the rainforest so you have to walk. I wish we would have known that prior to the tour because we booked this for a more relaxing day and ended up walking a lot!

Dear MIchell. Thank you for your feedback. The Jeeps have restrictions and cannot go through the trails. I am sorry you had to walk more than you intended. As you said, this is a beautiful and very enjoyable tour. count with us in your future travels and thank you for trusting at Gray Line.

Awesome hike
Our jeep tour hike with Carlos was spectacular. They picked us up at our hotel on time and away we went. It was thrilling and amazing seeing the city through an open Jeep. The hike was about 4 or 5 miles in total, but was a steep incline for a good chunk of time, so wear appropriate shoes. The views at the stops of the hike were so beautiful. Carlos our tour guide, was knowledgeable, friendly, and has a true love for Rio. We talked to local bikers at the stops and even had a monkey join us! Overall it was an amazing hike and fun jeep ride. Thank you Carlos and driver for making our day special and memorable!

Jeep was fun
Mar. 2020
Hold on to your hats! Open jeep hurtling through the city and tunnels.
Waking part was less than 100 yards.
Guide was surly and uninterested.
Not a great day out.

Dear paul99smith, Thank you for review! We apologize that you didn't enjoy your tour with us. It is a best seller and most people enjoy the trip through the Tijuca National Park. The trail can take from 15 minutes to 30 minutes depending on weather and trail available on the day. I'm not sure if there were anybody with limited mobility in the group which made the guide choose a shorter one. We hope to see you again in other visits. Thank you.

Overall nice
Jan. 2020 • Couples
This was an overall good experience but has potential to improve. Our tour guide was great and spoke 4 languages very well but the tour was a mix of languages so she had to repeat herself multiple times which meant she didn’t have a lot of time to explain things. It would be cool if they consolidated tours by language so we could communicate with other passengers. It would also be nice if the guide had a speaker in the vehicle because it was hard to hear over the engine. The tour was otherwise nice, relaxing to ride around and see the scenery and the walks were very easy. We did not see much wild life, a couple of birds and a handful of butterflies but yeah, overall nice.

Dear Hijones445, Thank you for your review! The mix of people from different places surely keep the tour interesting! We are really glad you had a good experience with us. The tour is normally delivered in 2 or three languages but on some days there might be more. We normally consolidate languages in different languages, but it will always depend on the number of people, languages, etc we have each day. Do note that the guides are trained to give the necessary amount of information in all languages, the difference when there are less languages, is that you get more time in between commentary. If any information was not able to be shared in all languages during the drive, it will surely be shared in the stops that the tour makes. In regards to the animals, it will vary how many you get to see, as they might be more or less inclined to show up depending on the weather and the temperature as well as time of day. We will make note of your suggestions. Thanks, best regards,

Yes I’m not impressed at all, I would not do it again. Pick up was late, didn’t see any animals, the only cool thing was the waterfall!!!!

Dear BeatrizCosta94, Thank you for your review! We are sorry you didn't enjoy the tour much. The animals might show up depending on a number of factors as they are free in the forest. so depending on the weather and temperature they might come around or not. But still there is much to see like the Forest inside the Tijuca National Park, the trails and the beautiful views. We hope you are able to enjoy these other attractions that the tour offers. Thank you.

A good way to travel
I was collected on time by a lady tour guide and a lady driver, in the jeep.

We collected other people and sadly a couple of people didn’t turn up but neglected to advise so we were hanging around waiting unnecessarily.

The tour guide (I want to say Gabriella ? ) was really patient with this. We drove through the rainforest, and saw some unscheduled along the way ! The Chinese vista view point gave some spectacular views, it was unusually cloudy, but that makes for a different kind of photo !

Also on the trip was a waterfall and a little hike.

This was a very enjoyable trip which I would recommend.

Not worth it
Nov. 2019
Very poor trip most of the time was spent getting to the Forrest and very little time spent there walking , no animals then spent over 1 1/2 hrs to return to our hotel , we drove past our hotel 4 times to drop other passengers off total waste of time and money.

Dear Robert0359, Thank you for your review! We are sorry you didn't enjoy the tour as much. This is one of our best sellers and it often receives high praise. Part of the experience in this tour is driving through the Tijuca Rainforest and enjoying the scenery in addition to the spots. There is a couple of small trails included but most of the tour is either on the vehicle or on stops in the Tijuca National Park. We hope to see you again in future visits.
