Ivan expertly guided my wife and I throughout a full-day tour of Salvador's panoramic city and coastal highlights in complete comfort and safety. We particularly enjoyed visiting his inside tour of numerous less-traveled sites, including the colorful neighborhood of Santo Antonio, Centro Historico, Feira de São Joaquim, and the Old Fish Market in Rio Vermelho. Our wonderful day culminated with him recommending, helping us buy tickets, then dropping us off, at the Balé Folclórico da Bahia, which was a sensational show! With his help, we separately arranged to be picked up later after the show. We highly recommend Ivan!

My wife and I spent 4 wonderful days in Chapada Diamantina National Park with Ivan, our private tour guide and driver in his comfortable, safe, and agile 4x4 SUV. Along the way, he shared his vast knowledge, many experiences, and clear English explanations with us. He tailored his itinerary to our interests and hiking abilities, where he shared his sincere passion of this unique place with us. We also loved the colorful town of Lençòis where we stayed 3 nights in a charming pousada conveniently located adjacent to the park's trailhead. Due to the long transit time to/from Salvador, we used the remaining 2 full days to enjoy some key park highlights. As such, we recommend a minimum of 4 total days, where even more days would've allowed us to visit more sites. We highly recommend Ivan for this adventure that we could not have accomplished without his expertise and car. Be sure to bring good walking shoes, hat, and sunscreen.

I found Ivan very rude and snarky from the beginning We did not even do a tour with Ivan but just from our conversation enquiring about our stay, we were turned off. He was quite rude and obnoxious. When I initiated a conversation, he gave me a price which was 5X the price of another place, so I responded that it was outside our budget, and that others were 700BRL, and thanked him anyway. He responded with "Must be a great tour with everything in option (typically full of small prints, no transport, unsafe public bus etc) have a great stay in Bahia, but be aware of the typical tourist traps (in which you're bound to step )." I found this response very unprofessional and rude, particularly as the other tour (Anselmo Turismo) had many more positive reviews than him. Fair enough warn me about issues that I might have, but no need to be rude and sarcastic about it. He also added that his tours are private, which goes to show he did not even inquire about what I wanted. We enjoy group tours - as well as generally having lower prices (being backpackers), we also get to meet people from all over the world, but Ivan did not ask what we were after. After being rude and me telling him so, he ended up blocking me on Whatsapp. We prefer to go with another tour agency than him, much cheaper and more professional.

This was a fantastic day full of wonder and interest. After a very interesting tour of cigar factory, the potters village and lunch by the river we headed into Cochiera. What an amazing place and not really possible as non Portuguese speakers. The glory of old South America was on show with spectacular churches, convent and brothel! A day to saviour for a long time and surly the highlight of our trip. PS Ivan also showed us round Salvador for the day. Really excellent day of history and culture. Can’t recommend Ivan more highly.

We had a great time! Ivan knew all the locals routes and we were able to experience a really cool trail that wasn’t crowded at all. Lencois is a beautiful town and we wish we had more time! Chapada Diamantina is breathtaking. The trip was so worth it. It’s a lot of driving in one day and now that we know there is so much to see over there, we would go back and do the 2 day trip Ivan offers. If you have time, I recommend the 2 day trip so you get to see more. If you’re short on time, this one day express will be perfect for you.

Since I'm working remotely and short on time, I needed a quick way to explore Chapada Diamantina in a few days. After a quick Google search, I found Ivan's webpage and decided to write him. The whole booking process, pick-up, and tour guiding were super professional and punctual - which I like a lot. Ivan is a great driver and I felt super safe being in his car. Great experience - definitely recommended!

This 2 day tour is really great, perfect for an express visit to this area of the country, Ivan is a very good driver and great guide, everything was great, i would definitely recommend the 2 day tour because doing it all in just one day can be too much.

We booked a transfer with Ivan to go from Lencois to Valenca to get the boat to Morro de São Paulo. Ivan was very easy to communicate with to arrange the pick up and super professional! His car was comfortable for a long 6hours journey and his driving skills are good despite the difficult roads ! He knows a lot about Brazil and the state of Bahia which made the trip even more interesting :) It s not cheap but if you want to go straight to Morro from Chapada Diamantina without wasting a day in Salvador, I highly recommend to book this transfer with Ivan. He is the only one to do it in Bahia and you’ll be in safe hands !

Ivan is the go-to guy if you need anything in Bahia. He picked me up in the middle of the night from the airport and brought me to my accommodation in town had a very reasonable price. I enjoyed it very much talking to him but in all the time I have been in Brazil I have been able to whatsapp him and ask lots of questions he is very helpful and knowledgeable. I hope to see him again and stay in touch with him for many years to come as I know Brazil will be a place in my life. Sean T

In this tour, you bond with Mother Nature and its elements: Water, earth, wind... and you come out ever so respectful of nature. The tour is also fun; magic. He is a safe driver, and the only guide in the area to drive all those many kilometers to meet your needs. This tour is a must-take.

Thoroughly professional service in English (one of his multiple languages) from Ivan that, as we were short on time staying in Salvador, allowed us to see the pretty and vibrant Lencois village and also some highlights of the Chapada Diamantina ranges. Recommended if you don't have time to spend several days hiking/camping in the park but still dont want to miss out!

Ivan was amazing in this tour. He took really good care of us and made sure we see the top highlights of this amazing national park. Then he took us back straight to the hotel just outside the door. It was an amazing day. I really recommend this to anyone who only has a little time in Salvador but does not want to miss this gem which is Chapada Diamantina

We only have a few days in Salvador & was very keen to go and visit Chapada Diamantina National Park on a day trip. Every tour company does at least a 3 day trip, however, we were very lucky to find Ivan to take us on this tour. Ivan speaks 5 different languages: English, Portuguese, Dutch, French, Spanish and is very professional and prompt with his responses. He brought us to Lencois, some waterfalls/ natural eroded rock formation and the Grand Canyon of Brazil. We also have had a very nice local lunch (paid by weight) at Lencois, it’s our first and last one, the only one that looks hygienic and very delicious. It was 5.5 hours to and 7.5 hours journey back but the 5 hours spent at the National Park was well worth it! We give it to Ivan for taking on such long and grueling drive and also the mini hiking in the heat of the day in the National Park. It’s not an easy feat for him. If this tour is not for you, he can always personalise other tours for you as you wish. Approach him for more details. = )
