About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- hmlcj0 contributionsSuperbOur family of 10 had an incredible trip to Malaysia from January 1–11, 2025, all thanks to Elephant Shadow Travel and Tours! They truly understood our requirements and organized the entire trip flawlessly, leaving us more than satisfied. The hotels arranged in Langkawi and Penang were outstanding, offering us comfort and convenience throughout our stay. Although the Arenaa Hotel in Kuala Lumpur didn’t quite meet our expectations, the rest of the trip more than made up for it. A special shout-out to our driver in Kuala Lumpur, who was absolutely amazing and made our journey through the city smooth and enjoyable. Everything—from the itinerary to the coordination—was perfectly organized. We highly recommend Mr. Romesh and Elephant Shadow Travel and Tours to anyone planning a trip. One suggestion to make their service even better: it would be helpful if they could provide a brief description of each place the day before the visit. This would allow travelers to prepare better and fully enjoy the experience. Thank you, Elephant Shadow, for making our family trip so memorable! 🌟Written 14 January 2025

- Mark M0 contributionsVery disappointing tourThe driver sent email to introduce himself and to confirm pick up time. Good start. Was also on time. He said he had done the trip many times but I do not believe this was an accurate statement. Was friendly enough but no more than one would expect. English was very average to the point majority of travel was done in silence. No communication in telling us where we were going would just arrive at point of interest and be told to go in. Started travelling back to KL without visiting the BOH's tea centre. He was not aware this was part of the tour. Very disappointing as this was the main reason we chose the private tour over a group tour. He called his boss and turned around to take us to the BOH's tea centre only to find the factory tour has not been operating since COVID 19. So much for learning about tea production and other facts about Cameron Highlands. Driver made some effort in arranging taste test for Jack fruit and durian at our expense. It was a long day for all. Very disappointing.Written 20 July 2022
- Lpad56500 contributionsGreat way to exploreOur guide (Emma) was very helpful and willing to show us and inform us about the towns. She even went out of the way for us to see the mangroves (we paid extra but totally worth it!). Be warned the walk to the waterfalls has a steep hill/many stairs. And same goes for the suspension bridge. We had a lot of time at the cable car place and wished we knew how amazing the 3D art place was - highly recommend dedicating around 30 minutes for this. Overall, it was a great day and we truly appreciated our guide who made it all the more enjoyable.Written 21 June 2022
- 1991ben0 contributionsReview1. Schedule was not properly planned. -For a whole day trip (8 hours) and a detailed itinerary, this tour was not at all up to our expectations. The itinerary specifically included that we would be going to 6 places in total. We only visited 3. -Our names and pax were also mistaken which wasted time and we only left the hotel at almost 10am and driver ended the trip at about 430pm 2. Driver's attitude - "Learn about the nature and culture of Langkawi from a knowledgeable local driver guide" is highly exaggerated. Driver was kind of course, but did not bother talking. When asked about buildings, lands & etc, he was less than knowledgeable. He couldn't answer. After he mentioned that we were not going to the Langkawi Craft Complex, we asked him what stuff would be there to have an idea. He said in Malay "Just batik, nothing much". This is in no way helpful in promoting any culture. 3. Bad management -Tickets to the cable car at the Oriental Village were not bought in advance. We wasted a lot of time waiting for the tickets when it should have been bought earlier. Driver was already about to give up buying the tickets that we had ALREADY paid for. The experience at these 3 places were enjoyable. Although, my point is, after asking around and meeting other people, for a tour that costs 190 USD for 2 pax, it is extremely overpriced.Written 8 June 2022
- Happysmiles13670 contributionsFantastic 9 days.We were planning on a Holiday and when I read that Malaysia would be open to international tourists from 1st April 2022, we were excited. After the 2 year Pandemic lockdown this was a holiday we were looking forward to. Luckily we got introduced to Elephant Shadow tours through a friend in Malaysia. Frankie Romesh the owner of Elephant Shadow tours, did a excellent job in organising a custom made 9 day tour. From Pick up from the Airport to Hotels, sight seeing, theme parks and attractions, Frankie was in constant touch with us and many a times was kind enough to personally escort us. Though there were a couple of times where we changed the days itinerary, Frankie delivered great service with a smile. Great Hospitality.Written 11 May 2022
- adventuresofrachel0 contributionsFrankie was great! Got to see a lot!Frankie (Ramesh/Romesh) was wonderful! He was patient as I took lots of photos of our surroundings and let me explore at my leisure. He was on good contact prior to and the day of our tours! Definitely recommend!Written 2 March 2020
