Observation deck, sky deck & sky box
Dec. 2020 • Solo
I bought a package that includes observation deck, sky deck and sky box. The 4 rating is for the skybox. It was scary but pretty amazing at the same time. The skybox was all worth the money. I would recommend to just take the sky deck/sky box package. Observation deck had the telescopes but I think it can be skipped.

I just went recently and they were offering a 50% discount for walk ins which is a really good deal compared to buying online (whatever vendor that is).

Also, I took the Lrt to dang wangi station and walked. I don’t recommend walking. Just book grab after you get off the train.

Great views
We took a grab to the tower as it was quite a walk from our hotel.
We did the Skydeck ticket. You have to wait for your allotted time slot so there's lots of people waiting around. You get pictures taken by the staff and then have about a minute to take your own photos. You can't wear shoes in the box or take your bags inside.

Bad impression
Im so disappointed with trip to KL Towers because, Its not free entrance as they mention on their flyers. I'm came from JB to bring my family to go around the tower, but the staff just said no free entrances at all.And they said only 700 pax for per entrance only. Iam Very dissapointed with them.

I would suggest to go KL tower than going to Petronas. The view is just awesome and the glass bottom picture location is amazing. Go for the best.

Very disappointing
Jul. 2020 • Family
Please be aware that this is only free ( July 2020 ) for Locals that hold a Mykad card. Also due to the amount of locals going at the moment foreigners cannot even buy a ticket as they reach their daily allocation very early in the morning. Very disappointing

Not exactly reaching new heights
Oct. 2019
Due to the torrential thunderstorms that were occurring on the day of our visit, we elected just to go to the observation deck rather than any of the other attractions.

Although our view was stifled somewhat by the weather, for the 30RM ticket cost (and because we'd also visited the Eco Park for free) it gave us a good insight into the KL skyline before our future visit to the Petronas Towers. Recommended if you're in the area, but I wouldn't make a special journey just to seek it out.

Stellar views of Kuala Lumpur!
Feb. 2020
We truly enjoyed our brief visit to the KL Tower for lunch during our day-long tour of Kuala Lumpur while cruising. The tower offers amazing views of this interesting, developing city. Our lunch was at the tower's rotating restaurant, and the food was great to go along with the out-of-this-world views. The tower seemed a bit older as compared to other similar towers we've visited (such as Tokyo Skytree and the Stratosphere Tower in Vegas). It could probably stand a refurbishment soon, hence my reason for rating it 4 stars instead of 5. I would imagine this is one of the main attractions in the city, so, of course, it's a do-not-miss during your visit!

Choose skydeck over observation deck, cover any one observation, either KL tower or petronas towers
Jan. 2020
We got the observation deck tickets of the Menara KL tower as complimentary from the travel agent. The tower has 2 parts, sky deck is the level above and the observation deck is below. We checked with the counter there and an upgrade to skydeck would be an additional 50 RM, we skipped upgrading as we had another observation at Petronas towers the next day. So my advise would be to do any one either Petronas towers or Skydeck of KL tower (not obseravtion deck) as both have similar views.

On your way back you’ll see a small colorful house which is upside down, its known as upside down house, we though it was like a cafe but its just a spot for some pictures. Looks good .

Excellent 360-degree view of the greater Kuala Lumpur area
May 2019
I really enjoy the view from the top of Menara KL. The tower provides an excellent 360-degree view of the greater Kuala Lumpur area, with views of downtown KL's fascinating buildings, the city's balance between old and new areas, and the assorted green spaces tucked into all the constant development, as well as the surrounding areas. On clear days, the view extends to the mountains -- and Genting Highlands -- giving a wonderful perspective into the geographic area into which KL has grown.

There are several activities, exhibits, and shops on the ground floor level, although I have not spent time in those.
