Good Japanese food!
Feb. 2020
Highly recommend to anyone that wants to experience good Japanese food where the locals eat. Levi was a great guide and the food he chose for us was fantastic!

We got a little tour between which of the eateries which juts added to the experience.

Couldn’t recommend enough!

Dear Jim81T, With years in the restaurant and bar business before becoming a tour guide, there's no doubt Levy knows his way around Osaka food and drink, having been on TV both in and outside of Japan multiple times. The best part of this is him being uniquely positioned to make great nights out for our guests! We are flattered by your review, and extremely happy that you enjoyed the evening so much. We aim to really bring our guests into the local world by keeping group sizes very small, venues super genuine and old school, and the sights in between very entertaining. Thank you so much for the review!!

good
Jan. 2020
The walk through Osaka, led by Levi, was relaxed, informative and enjoyable. Based on similar outings in the past it seemed on the pricey side but since there were only 3 people in the group, it was well worth it for me. Osaka is a foodie paradise and having a local aficionado introduce it is a good idea. Also, the better prepared you are (there is a ton of web info on Osaka & food) the more you will get out of a guided tour.

Hi Kai, Thank you for the excellent review of our Osaka Night Tour. We appreciate you discussing the value proposition. We believe that although there are cheaper tours out there, the all-inclusive nature of our tour, combined with great guides and truly small group sizes (max 6), sets us apart. Thank you for taking the time to write the review, and may your future travels also be rewarding!

We had an awesome time with our guide Kevin exploring places around Osaka thst we'd never usually get the chance to venture into. Come with an empty stomach, there's lots of authentic local food to try!

Excellent intro into Osakan culture
If you are looking to deepen your understanding of the local culture and not just hovering from one shopping district to another, this is definitely the tour for you. In 3 hours the tour will take you on a walk to narrow streets and districts that only locals would go to. Our tour guide Brice was absolutely delightful and really gave us insights into the marrow of Osakan lives, and introduced us to quite a few surprising cuisines!

I would most definitely recommend it :)

Deep Osaka Review
We had a great time with Levi who was informative, energetic and fun. We went to three different bars and had tapas and drinks and each one was different and fun. Levi was a great host and I would highly recommend him to all who want a taste of Osaka after dark👍

Dear Q82IWlynnh, Glad you enjoyed our somewhat wacky, super knowledgeable guide-in-residence Levy :) Thank you also for noticing (and pointing out) that all three restaurants were different and fun! And since they straddle two different neighborhoods, we feel our tour paints a more developed picture of Osaka's nightlife. We appreciate you taking the time to write a review, and wish you the best with your future travels!

Our guide,Levy, is knowledgeable and experienced. I especially enjoyed the supermarket part. Our group is small and intimate. As another review says, you will walk away from the tour with some new friends. Highly recommend!

Worthwhile Experience!
Despite what you may read in the negative reviews (although limited) below, this is a great introductory tour to Osaka culture and food.

Levy is an experienced guide who has been living in Japan for +18 years and provides a plethora of information regarding the people, food, and lifestyle of the area.

This is all excluding the phenomenal locations we went to eat and drink during our experience. Without a doubt, you will be brought to local eateries where the people of Osaka enjoy their lives outside of work. At each of our three destinations, we were the only foreigners there, and you’ll be greeted well by the operators of each establishment. The food is rich and diverse, the drink flows well, and you’ll walk away from the tour with some new friends and a familiarity of Osaka that you would be otherwise left without. 5/5.

Dear neilvik, This review really touches us a chord for us because, to be honest, even though 99% of people seems to love our tour, it is the 1% that tend to always write reviews, skewing our rating a bit :( We are not a cookie-cutter Osaka food tour, and we are not about just giving you some fried chicken and encouraging you get drunk on your own dime. We are a fully inclusive tour with (dare we say?) superior guides that are true English speakers with great personalities. Our restaurants are carefully chosen not because they give us kickbacks or discounts (they don't), but because we live in Osaka, and we've known these restaurant operators for years. They welcome us - and our guests - like family, and we are paid back by seeing the smiles on our guests faces as they enjoy the evening as locals. Half our evening is spent eating eating great food in three restaurants across two different neighborhoods (other tours just lazily park it in one neighborhood for the night), while the other is half spent on a cultural odyssey walkabout. Fantastic food, drink, fun, and local immersion is what we offer, and I would like to sincerely thank you for writing a review that boasts about all these things. We may not have big money corporate backers, or paid TripAdvisor review writers, but we have guests like you, and we are so happy for it :) Thanks again.

Great way to see and taste authentic Osaka street life
Nov. 2019
This was my first trip to Japan and besides temples and shrines I wanted to see how the “real” people lived and I took this tour to satisfy this need – and was amply rewarded.

Several after work eating and drinking establishments are visited and local foods tasted. Additionally, there are stops at various businesses along the lively shopping street where aspects of normal Japanese life are explained. I found the explanation of the workings of the Love Hotel to be particularly fascinating.

A tip: There is a lot to see on this tour, so feel free to look around and ask questions, which the bicultural guide can answer with insight and relevance beyond the normally scripted answers of many tour guides. For example, at the eating stops, look up at the staff and other customers, observe, and ask about who they are, why they are there, and why they are doing what they are doing. You will learn a lot!

Interesting and accommodating food experience.
We visited 3 local eateries along with a few cultural spots. Interesting and relaxed trip with lots of food! Host is also great at accommodating alternative diets, especially vegetarian. Highly recommend as a good intro to the city and different types of food.
