    Lovely cooking class in Osaka
Yayo’s cooking class was so lovely, we had the best time! She met us at the train station exit with signs with our names, so it was really easy to find her. Her cooking class is a great mix of her showing how to do each step, and then each participant getting to do it themselves. The meal was absolutely delicious and we were very full at the end. She gave us really lovely parting gifts and overall it was just such a special afternoon spent together!

This is my own top#1 of activities I did in Osaka!
I was so excited to cook so many delicious dishes and matcha tea. Even if you don't like cooking or are afraid you might not do it well or even fail, don't worry! Yayo speaks English well, she is very supportive and she has everything planned for every meal. I suggest arriving very hungry to the class.

    Insightful, Relaxed and Enjoyable!
We had a wonderful experience being hosted by Yayo at her home on a Rainy Saturday evening. Yayo is such a gracious and lovely person, and did a great job of teaching (and explaining a bit of the culture behind) making Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki, Dashiyaki, Miso and even Matcha Tea. It’s an insightful look into a home kitchen in Japan, and the simple yet delicious way they prepare these staples. Great for couples or a group of friends looking for a relaxed (non-party) few hours. We have zero complaints, the food turned out great, the preparation was fun and Yayo was amazing. What a great evening thanks to her! (And we agree, Osaka Okonomiyaki is the best! :) ) Highly Recommended!

    Easy fun cooking experience
First time visitor to Japan with my son & partner. An insight into apartment living in Osaka - Yayo is thorough, patient & so well prepared with her cooking unit for each participant in her living/kitchen room. What a lovely way to start the day watching & making one’s breakfast….. we learnt to make matcha (powdered) green tea, miso soup, Dashimaki, Okonomiyaki Takoyaki & Taiyaki. On completion of our class we were also gifted with some goodies - love my reclining Panda chopstick holder & chopsticks, flying stork origami (Australian flag), recipes & sesame treats - thank you Yayo, you are so very thoughtful with a great sense of humour. A worthwhile activity & brilliant way to start the day ….. fully energized & ready to walk up Osaka Castle museum!!

Fantastic intro to real Japanese cooking!
Super kawaii cooking class in Osaka! We were met on time very close to her home in Osaka. Fantastic hospitality, lots of energy and discussed many regional differences in cuisine. After a brief introduction we began cooking! I was pleased at the number of different dishes we learned and the opportunities she provided to record cooking and eating. I have been on a lot of food tours and cooking classes and this was really great! Super highly recommended!

    Yayo's classes are the best!
Such a wonderful experience! Yayo was the perfect host who curated a wonderful cooking class from her own home. We learnt a lot about Japanese cuisine and culture and loved the little tokens provided at the end of the class. Our takeaway boxes meant we had dinner as well! Thankyou Yayo for a memorable experience and all the best for your travels to Okinawa ☺️

    MUST-DO!
Yayo is so fun and her english was great. This class teaches important fundamentals of Japanese cuisine. We’ve been eating Japanese food for years without understanding the key ingredients and this was an eye-opener. The food and recipes were delicious. I’d recommend this place to all my friends and family. Thank you for the beautiful memories, Yayo - Paul and Marie-Claude

Yayo is one of the best teachers of Osaka dishes!
Even though we were down some people, Yayo still welcomed us into her home! A lovely apartment with a fully fledged kitchen where it was basically her playground! I managed to cook Osaka dishes well, but was no match for Yayo's precision and background being born and raised in Osaka. Her bubbly personality lifted up the mood (as Kansai people do) and I'm glad to have chosen this experience! I particularly liked the taiyaki because I tried to make it on my own but she showed me the correct way to do it!

Visited Osaka with a group of friends, and my Boyfriend. And we all agreed to book this Class with YAYO. One of the best experiences ever. She was so organized, lovely presentation of Sushi. I still have my origami she gifted us at the end of the course. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to that area.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when Yayo had to change the location of our cooking class to her cooking studio in her house, but I was very pleasantly surprised! She picked us out at the train station and walked us back to her studio where she offered us slippers and place for our things and we were greeted by her adorable pup, Akane (who can be elsewhere if you’re not a fan of dogs- you just have to let her know ahead of time).

Her place was clean and spacious and she had us all set up to go! Given the name, I expected that we would just be making sushi, but she included miso soup, a Japanese style omelet, a green tea ceremony, and a sweet dessert (waffle with red bean paste). Most of the ingredients we used were freshly made by her. Oh and did I mention we were also a given a sake tasting?

Not only is Yayo sweet, but she’s an exec Ellen chef and teacher. The food was delicious and she even sent us with a little doggy bag of what we didn’t finish plus origami cranes with our names in Japanese. She made everything so personalized!! I truly enjoyed this experience and would do it again in a heartbeat!

This is a must do when visiting the Osaka area. The three of us had a wonderful time with Yayo, who is such a great encouraging instructor, and is so nice and sweet you don’t want to leave. The sushi was amazing and the background provided by Yayo on the ingredients and traditional Japanese customs are priceless. If you are a foodie and a sushi lover, sign up for this class.

This was SUCH a wonderful experience - every single part of it. We made a variety of different traditional Japanese dishes and they all tasted wonderful, especially after learning more about the history and background of each one. The instructions are explained thoroughly, and with photos and demonstrations. Don't even think twice about booking this experience!

Yayo was very nice brought me up from the train station to her lovely house. I met Akane, a cute little dog. Akane was with us all the times, quietly resting on her spot. Yayo was a very patient teacher. She explained every ingredients using for the miso soup, sake drink, matcha (powdered green tea), dashimaki (egg), red bean waffle and sushi. I enjoyed chatting with Yayo about Japanese culture, the language and the food. She was wonderful and explained to me every ingredients traditionally made. The food are very delicious. I could not resist and ate all 10 pieces sushi I made. We took many pictures and these will be a very good memory for me. I definitely recommend Yayo's sushi class to my friends.
