- jennifermC5664TS0 contributionsUnique experience in NaganoWe had such a great tour with Dai! I wanted to do a Shukubo stay while in Japan, but we got that and so much more with this tour. We tried oyaki, a regional specialty made over an open flame, visited a spice store, walked the busy market street leading to the temple, and got an excellent tour of Zenko-ji. We added the walk through the temple’s underground passage to find the key to paradise and the morning service as well. It was a day packed with new experiences for us and added something special and unique to our Japan trip - really an unforgettable tour!!Written 7 October 2024

The tour was well organised, and our guide, Endo, was fun and very knowledgeable. He kept us informed about each step and shared a lot of details about the place and Nagano as well including dinner options. The tour started on time from Nagano station and we covered all the mode of transport till finally reaching out to the snow wall. I travelled with my kids and they had a great time. We were able to reach back to station early as the crowd was less and Endo was able to prepone our last connecting electric bus.

Wonderful trip. Big group of 40. Well managed by our guides Kevin and Sion. The guides were informative as well as were fun to be around with. They ensured the group reached each station before time to avoid glitches. A lot of clarity in communication from the start till the end of the tour

A lot of travel to see a little bit of snow. It was a horrible day weather wise but even so. None of the transportation was overly comfortable and there was a lot of sitting around waiting. A lot of money to pay to see a bit of ice

Dear Jenine,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. As many other visitors come to see the snow walls and the scenic views of the Japanese Alps, it can lead to congestion and long lines as you mentioned. Our tour guides do their very best to book the earliest possible time for the group to proceed to the next transport, but it can still result in waiting times. We understand how frustrating this can be for our guests and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

Teddy our guide from Snow monkey was friendly and knowledgeable. He is very helpful and patient. He is always punctual.
The Snow Wall was not as high as we would expect but Teddy did inform us prior to commencement of the tour. Fortunately the weather was fine and we did have a great day having fun with the snow. Will highly recommend going with Snow Monkey tour as they are well organised.

We were very fortunate to have the tour on a sunny day. Photos of the dam and snow wall turned out great. Our guides Joyce and Teddy were very clear with their instructions. That helped things flow smoothly and on schedule.
To note: this tour does not cover the full tateyama kurobe route. It only departs from and returns to Nagano station. That was a slight disappointment for us,
One has to be prepared it is a lot of travelling time to see the dam and the snow wall. 1.5 hours bus ride just to get to ogizawa station and back to Nagano station.

Dear Valued Guest,
Thank you for your positive feedback. We are glad you felt the tour flowed smoothly and that you were able to take great photos! That is correct, this tour does not cover the full Tateyama Kurobe Route. As a tour agency based in Nagano, we start from the Nagano side to the main attraction (Snow Walls) and back in a span of about 11 hours. Despite the long travel time, we feel that this itinerary allows our guests the chance to truly appreciate the sights along the way without being rushed. Thank you for choosing us, and we hope to see you again!

This tour was well worth the money and the experience !! The guides we had were fantastic in explaining all the details along the way. The scenery was just amazing and all the different modes of transport were lots of fun. The snow walls were incredible to see and walk through. We were there 20th April and still so much snow. Coming from Australia it was a real treat. I highly recommend this tour

Hi, what time does the trip start at Nagano stations and estimated end time at Nagano?
This is to plan for train to/from Tokyo, on return day and arrival day.

Hi, I am interested in this 1 day tour from Nagano and looking at April 20th 2020. But when I tried to book, the dates from the drop down menu shows earliest date in early May only. Does this mean that the tour only starts in May 2020?

Hi, what is the snow like in September, can we still expect to see the snow wall? Also, it was not clear, during the tour, can we walk on the road and examine the snow closely? Thanks
Written 7 April 2019
